This is the kind of reviews we want. Honest and real. I am tired of watching "reviews" which are basically advertisments. I bought the wrong bike watching dishonest reviews and I regret it. But bravo to this man
I had a test day on the x-adv at honda on 6-4-2024. I drive the NT 1100 myself and I have to say that the x-adv surprised me. It is a motorcycle with a low center of gravity and stable handling. The dct shifts incredibly smoothly better than with my nt1100 and the power is sufficient, it is also equipped with more than enough driving modes. It is a motorcycle that will give you a lot of riding pleasure.
I have an X-Adv for about 4 months now and have ridden 3000km with it. Mix of city commuting, road rides and a little gravel (light ones). I am thrilled of how user friendly it is: extremely easy to ride, with almost all the comfort of a scooter (except for the helmet compartment size) and power of a road bike. In fact, if you try to ride it on Sport mode, you'll be amazed by the power this engine delivers. So, I'd say that's a very good mix. Personally, I came from a 300cc scooter (Xmax) and had no problems at all adapting to the X-Adv. Also, I notice that everyday I am more at ease with it much because of the sense of security the bike inspires when riding. It's true it's an expensive bike but you get quality for money undoubtfully. Last thing: don't hesitate for a second in buying the foot pegs! It's definitely a game changer for the riding position!
Is X-Adv better than the yamaha Tmax? When you were looking for an upgrade from the Xmax, did you think of the Tmax first or gone all the way to X-Adv? Im being confused to be honest which one is better!
The Tmax was no alternative for me. I owned a Xmax 300 and was very happy with it. The X ADV is completely different than the Tmax and difficult to compare. The best is do a test ride with both and see which one fit better for you.
The thing I like about the X-ADV 750 versus other Honda DCT bikes is that being a scooter rider most of my riding life, I have always preferred the scooter style of braking with two hand controls instead of the typical motorcycle style of right hand and right foot (the exception being the Honda Helix back in the day which I adapted to but never preferred). Especially when given the fact that I’m left handed and my ability to dial in how much back brake to use is infinitely better with my left hand than it could ever be with my right foot. No handicap involved, I just prefer the instinctual braking with two hands over the right hand/right foot combo. Add to that not having to be stuck in one foot position due to pegs or small foot boards. So yes, the NC750X and he CTX700 are all well & good, and honestly not off the table completely either, but get me a scooter anytime and I’m golden.
2023 xadv 750 sahibiyim.
It seems to be a universal phenomenon to confuse the horn and turn signals when driving a Honda vehicle. The footpegs that provide a wide range of seating positions are excellent! The downside is that motorcycles is very heavy. As someone who switched from the ADV150 to the X-ADV, I strongly feel that difference. Thank you for the wonderful impression video.
Honda's refusal to acknowledge and change the position of the horn and turn signals is a sign of their ego. It is my constant complaint with the ergonomics of all their motorcycles. But with that said, it is not enough to be a deal breaker for me.
There is another similar option as well for shorter riders which is forza 750 , as the seat hight is 79 MM & It's more city commute or tourer for those whose not interested in adventurer or gravel roads Thanks for the review
i have to agree to the price being a huge factor. In singapore this bike is currently going for SGD$38,000 or €26,000 without any accessories. But its a great bike to handle all your needs. An SUV on two wheels
Not sure why anyone would think it is a scooter, under that skirt is a motorcycle. A motorcycle engine, gearbox and chain drive point to it's true heritage. The lack of under seat space is down to the a traditional motorcycle drive train being under all that plastic. For me at least, a scooter has CVT and has the location of the engine mounted more or less close to the rear of the bike and that configuration gives all that extra under seat space that scooters are renowned for. My NC750X has the same parallel twin and is a cracking engine. Good review.
@scooterventure switch on the ignition when you want to manoeuvre your adv. You will be surprised how easy it is to move! I have one and only realised it after 6 months. Still very happy with mine after 16000 km. Very reliable
Absolutely loved the profile “show & tell”, (getting on & off, etc.), seeing is believing! Yes, it does look top heavy & cumbersome, a thick bike all round? More reason the Zontes is a fantastic buy & two wheeled wonder for weight distribution, comfort, protection, etc.. You did the right thing by “biting the bullet” as we say, “take the hit” losing money to try something else & moving on. Great video, Marc, always enjoy listening to your thoughts. Best, Rola (Oregon / USA).👍🏻
I've put a lot of miles on maxi scooters, Burgman 650 , kymco ak550. The reason I like them is no engine heat in the summer. And I didn't have to spend hundreds of dollars on finding a comfortable seat. And they are more than capable of 500 mile days.
This is what I would call and "all rounder" and I like it. I learned to ride on scooters and worked my way up to an Africa Twin DCT. When the time comes for a new bike I'd like to downsize a bit. I like a bike that can do a bit of everything, and understand that this would come at the cost of being "master of none". But I'm not looking for mastery. I want to feel as comfortable and safe on a major highway as I would on a rugged back road, or rough construction zones. I want to do gravel and take a 2 week tour around the country too. I want a bike that I can turn around on a tight road easily without the struggle of grunting and paddle walking on the large, top-heavy Africa Twin. I'm no master of spin turns and never will be. I can barely do a tight U turn. I've looked around and test drove a few other bikes, but trading in cannot feel like a downgrade, so maybe the high quality of the X-adv with it's modern approach is worth considering. Also I miss the storage abilities of these scooters. I had a C650GT and loved the amount of luggage it would carry on a camping trip. My problem is I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic and scooters above 400cc just arent available here.
I have had 2 of these xadv bikes I bought a 2021 reg first very good all round bike.under seat space is a bit of a down fall .Still I love these bikes just upgrade to a 2024 xadv can't beat them bit pricey.you get what you pay for.ps no better looking scooter out there in my opinion. Grate review.
Great review. Thanks. My personal Cons are price and chain drive which I totally agreed with you...other cons that we will put up with it as we cant do anything about. I plan to buy a used one which can save some since feel boring and tired with clutch motorcycles that I've been ridding for more than 20 some years.
If you think Honda its quite expensive,i think its affordable price with higher tech of motorbike compare with BMW brand or many others European brand. And also this bike is tought and reliable at any situation on daily users.Maintainace also cheap and easy to gets sparepart compare with European bike.I think Honda do a good jobs.I love Honda"The power of dream" forever.
I think these hybrid scooters/motorcycles could also be a great in between for people who, for whatever reason, can no longer physically ride normal motorcycles. The standard dct would be great for someone whos got bad arthritis or needed a knee or hip replacement, but can still balance
As for the controls on the steering wheel, I do agree, the horn and the turn signals should have been the other way around, but also the small paddles to shift manually should have been better positioned and especially the minus switch, for this one I have to bend my thumb too far which feels unnatural. As for the chain for this, you have to take the time to maintain it, but it doesn't take much time if you know how, but you can also be lazy.
I bought the X-ADV to do city to city, "Adventure", riding the twisties and do a little bit of offroading. Its like a swiss army knife and quite cheap if i would have bought a scooter and a motorcycle to replace it ;). I am very happy for what it does but its usecase has to match.

Good video. But I would choose the Honda Shadow with the 750 engine. It has a competitive price, and lower seat, and easier to mount. The horn button is almost impossible to find when you want to use it fast. The mode button is to big for no reason, cause if you want to use it it is easy with a fast look. Its the base of the wind shield a bit loose , you can see that by moving with the hand. I have tested varius XAVDs and all have the same problem.
DLzG ✌️😎
I had a c400gt before and is was the most miserable scooter I ever owned. I sold it purely out of misery. The cost of ownership of and adv is much lower then a bmw c400
I also owned a BMW C 400 GT and never had any problems. what problems did you have with your BMW? Insurance and tax costs in Germany are higher for the Honda than for the BMW, workshop costs are the same.
@@Marc.Stones I had a broken seat to begin with had to wait 6 months for a replacement. The keyless system needed a new key battery every 6 months. The Bluetooth connection between helmet en phone and bike was always a trouble to get connected each time I started. In winter time te engine temp drops to 58C and after replacing te thermostat it was still the same issue and then they claim it is normal. Then the rear wheel bearing broke. Then I had starter problems which made the battery voltage drop under 12 volt and triggered dtc’s the starter and cables where replaced but still the problem was there. Then they did the 20000km maintenance and replaced the silent blocks from the rear suspension to softer ones. It was a standard replacement part they said but finally I found out that there was a vibration issue on the market so it became a standard maintenance part. The customer always pays for bmw design mistakes. Finally at 36500 km the cvt belt snapped on a busy highway before it’s maintenance interval. I had to leave this thing so many times at the dealer ship that I decided to buy a Honda again. I payed 1600€ in maintenance to drive 20000km. In Belgium a Honda is much cheaper and much more reliable.
I had the NT1100 DCT. What an awfull bike. Mostly the engine. Very raw sound and feel and not a nice combination with the DCT. Sold it aftrer 3 months. Now you see a lot for sale and l;ow milage. My dealer conformed this. Bought the ADV and love it.
It is definitely overprized especially for the selection of proper motorcycles available for that money. But as you rightly say, it depends what one is looking for. Great honest review, thank you.
I'm in NZ and same here however I am going to chase it up. I want the x-adv. I would keep my Vespa 300 hpe for around town however. The x=adv would replace the street triple RS, I don't need the power and its too bloody cold in winter.
Great review Marc and quite helpful to me. I need to get your opininon for the side panniers please. I'm planning to mount the original honda side panniers as well, but not sure if they ruin the aerodynamics while driving or cornering, or if they make wind noise during long tours ?
Hello sir, thank you for your videos I don't understand everything because I'm French, I wanted to ask you what you think I'm 1m70 (5'7) tall would I have problems with the xadv or height level it can do it I know I'll never have both feet on the ground
@@Marc.Stones OK, thank you, because I know it's impossible to have both feet on the ground, but it's especially when I'm stopped that I'd like to have at least almost one foot on the ground, so I'm going to ask Honda for a test drive. Thanks for your reply!
I think it would be the perfect bike here in the Philippines. But I want to know how it as at high speed on expressways. Is there a lot of wind buffeting? Or does the windscreen work pretty well?
hello .what do u think about the disturbing sound of windshield at setting high? I tried 3 new motorcycle new xldv brand new and mine honda says its a normal problem.on the stand also windshield has shaking or not not standing?did u tried or any bad experience of this?danke
Is this capable of doing longer tours with pillion ? I have a Yamaha xmax 300 and a Kawasaki versys 650. I would like to have one bike that can more less do it all (one insurance , one service , one parking space etc ) would this be the bike ?70% commuting 30%touring
Horn and indicator are not inverted, they're inverted everywhere else. Honda keeps indicator toggle in most effortless position and horn button further away - only logical.
I have ridden bough scooters and bikes and love the bough but for that on I will pass. Had the 400 Majesty and loved it, added the top box and plenty of room for storage. It was great on the highway and back roads. But if I am going with a chain drive I will get a bike and put on hard side bags and a top box. This thing is not a scooter or a bike. And the price for what you get no thanks.
People in the United States did not like this motorcycle, and it did not sell well. A couple of years ago they were selling them for $8000 because no one wanted them. This bike is over $15,000 and I consider that to be vastly over priced.
Surfaced vs unsurfaced roads? Europe vs Asian markets? In Thailand, Cambodia, India the ADV is ideal. In Europe we have surfaced roads so the Forza would be ideal. 90% of the roads in this world are unsurfaced.
17000 is disgusting ..I reckon it's probably more here in Ireland ...I'm going to see a older trade in on Mon or Tues ..no idea how I will feel but price apprehension is already nagging me ...a new 400 burgmann is 10,000 here

Why Honda why- do you refuse to use a cog drive belt instead of a dirty, greasy, messy, high maintenance chain? The Yamaha Tmax scooter uses a belt drive why don’t you? That one thing alone would sway me to buy the Yamaha over this thing
I drove allkinds of bikes and scooters , it is for sure a scooter and the best build ever and i would never excgange it for what bike or scooter what so ever . btw , it feels almost if you should be ashamed driving a scooter , sponsor me and i drive around the world with the Honda X-Adv 750 !!! 🌻🌞😘🌞🌻

Now that you've had the Honda for a while, do you prefer the Honda or BMW? I am enjoying my C400x. Keep up the great vids!
Difficult decision, because they are so different, but you will see in the next videos ;-)
@@koendesterckeit's made in China, isn't it?
I had the NT1100 DCT. What an awfull bike. Mostly the engine. Very raw sound and feel and not a nice combination with the DCT. Sold it aftrer 3 months. Now you see a lot for sale and l;ow milage. My dealer conformed this. Bought the ADV and love it.
did you buy the ADV or the X-ADV?
The DCT change frequently between gear 2 and 1 during slow is so annoying even in manual mode.
10:50 - if you want to have everything, buy the X-Adv. - I just sold my perfect NC750X for a X-Adv.
It is definitely overprized especially for the selection of proper motorcycles available for that money. But as you rightly say, it depends what one is looking for. Great honest review, thank you.
Thanks for your feedback ✌️
Really like the review, to the point. I'm looking for something in the same category, what would you reccommend?
Maybe the Honda ADV 350
Each country has their own tariffs and taxes. Everything you pay additional goes into politicians pockets.
Wish they'd bring back the honda nm4.
Unfortunately we're not going to get adv x in Australia or the NC 750😢
I'm in NZ and same here however I am going to chase it up. I want the x-adv. I would keep my Vespa 300 hpe for around town however. The x=adv would replace the street triple RS, I don't need the power and its too bloody cold in winter.
USA Needs it
Great review Marc and quite helpful to me. I need to get your opininon for the side panniers please. I'm planning to mount the original honda side panniers as well, but not sure if they ruin the aerodynamics while driving or cornering, or if they make wind noise during long tours ?
I had no problem with the handling and there is no wind noise noticable.
wish we got this in the US
I have a 2020 honda nc750x. Which do you think has more power and top speed, which would you choose for yourself?
The X ADV has the new engine with more hp. Both are great bikes, the X ADV is a Crossover and the NC750 a motorcycle.
The NC has higher topspeed. The X-ADV is like a brick wall in the wind. The NC could do aroun 200kph and the X-ADV is more like 170-180
Please help me, where did you buy your more confortable seat and your wind shiel and what type are they? Thank you in advance.
The seat is custom made by a saddler, the windshield is a PUIG one. Cheers Marc
Can I fit a cabin sized luggage at the legs while riding?
Hello sir, thank you for your videos I don't understand everything because I'm French, I wanted to ask you what you think I'm 1m70 (5'7) tall would I have problems with the xadv or height level it can do it I know I'll never have both feet on the ground
Hi, the X ADV is quite high, so you might have a problem to flatfoot on the ground, depends on the length of your legs. Best is to make a test ride.
I needed a higher windscreen but I am 188 cm tall
How do you maintain the chain for this bike? Can the "Scottoiler" chain lube system be fixed on it?
I oil it every 500 km. I think a Scottoiler can be installed on it.
Thanks, mate. I'm considering to get the Xadv or Trans Alp..
hello .what do u think about the disturbing sound of windshield at setting high?
I tried 3 new motorcycle new xldv brand new and mine honda says its a normal problem.on the stand also windshield has shaking or not not standing?did u tried or any bad experience of this?danke
My windshield does not shake, even in high position. The sound and turbulences are high, thats true. Thats why I wear earplugs while riding.
Is this capable of doing longer tours with pillion ? I have a Yamaha xmax 300 and a Kawasaki versys 650. I would like to have one bike that can more less do it all (one insurance , one service , one parking space etc ) would this be the bike ?70% commuting 30%touring
I think it is a quite good tourer, but it is too heavy for me for city rides. I had a X Max and did some touring with it 👍🏻
Should get Zontes 368G
Horn and indicator are not inverted, they're inverted everywhere else. Honda keeps indicator toggle in most effortless position and horn button further away - only logical.
Marc i have left side cerebral palsy you dont have to shift this do you?
No, it shifts automatically
If BMW modifies or basis the c650gt develops an adv bike. they will make this honda adv at this price look very expansive.
Sir, Can I use it daily on a heavy traffic place here in the Philippines? Is it fuel efficient? Can it do 25+ kpl?
The fuel efficiency is good, for heavy traffic in the city it could be a bit heavy ... 236 kg
You can ride with around 3,2l/100km (31km/l)
hi marc, are you using a holographic dashboard screen protector? do you have a link for it?
Hi, yes, I use one, I got it from my Honda dealer.
@Marc.
What is better than the XADV? you have just slagged it off . So what adventure Scooter is better than the XADV?
whats your body length?
188cm
I simply don’t understand the weight. My Tiger 900 is lighter
Hi there, forza 750cc vs xadv what would u choose sir?
Hi, both are very good. X Adv for adventure and street Forza for more road orientation.
Wow
Does it have a cruise control system?
No :-)
😅@@Marc.Stones
Does your top box vibrate at all?
No, fits perfect.
Sir, question: how tall are you?
Hi, I am 188 cm
Hi where did you buy the seat?
Hi, it is custom made.
Wo hast du die Sitzbank machen lassen?
Beim Sitzbankdoktor
Nice video, does the honda have cruise control?
No cruise control available fore the X ADV
@@Marc.Stones hmm that is a big con…
In Greece cost 14 670€ naked
Surfaced vs unsurfaced roads? Europe vs Asian markets? In Thailand, Cambodia, India the ADV is ideal. In Europe we have surfaced roads so the Forza would be ideal. 90% of the roads in this world are unsurfaced.
what is your height sir?
188cm
17000 is disgusting ..I reckon it's probably more here in Ireland ...I'm going to see a older trade in on Mon or Tues ..no idea how I will feel but price apprehension is already nagging me ...a new 400 burgmann is 10,000 here
Quit an honest review. The end of the review says it all: good bike but the price is over rated. 😢
Honda Integra 750 same engine and gearbox less expensive smaller case
Pro tip - you can put your gloves inside your helmet
👍😂
How to buy in India
Wie groß bist du eigentlich?
Eigentlich 188 cm 🤙🏻
In my opinion it is more to styling. For adventure?? I think it's not suitable because of it's weight. Light weight adv is more efficient & versatile
How tall are you? how is it for someone 1.75
I am 188 cm
I’m 1.69 and I have to tip toe when sitting down. Definitely too big for me
Hello. how tall are you?
Hi, 188cm
Too small trunk AND - NO CruiseControl !!! - these are THE cons !!
Why Honda why- do you refuse to use a cog drive belt instead of a dirty, greasy, messy, high maintenance chain? The Yamaha Tmax scooter uses a belt drive why don’t you? That one thing alone would sway me to buy the Yamaha over this thing
foot forward isn't going to happen here 1
I drove allkinds of bikes and scooters , it is for sure a scooter and the best build ever and i would never excgange it for what bike or scooter what so ever . btw , it feels almost if you should be ashamed driving a scooter , sponsor me and i drive around the world with the Honda X-Adv 750 !!! 🌻🌞😘🌞🌻
the main issue is chain)))
this is fake scooter made on base NX750. scooter the real one must have own motor and no chain. pls stop calling this thing a scooter
you can put gloves inside the helmet, even kidney belt, so...
scooter or moto - c? it's a cross dresser
