Went to that mall every Saturday morning with my Grandparents. Where the Lowes is now was Kmart. And the first 99 cent store in Carlisle was across from it. Was called Nothing over a Dollar. That green faced store was the Hallmark store and just to its left was the KayBee Toy store. I used to go in there and buy my Atari 2600 games. We never went to Bon-Ton it was for "rich people" Lol. There was a Kinny Shoe store too where my Grandma would get our school shoes. The man would measure our feet and then say "Let's see if we have that size in the back" He always did. And Grandma would always go to JoAnn Fabric to get her thread and fabrics for her quilts. I miss those simpler days.
I'm from about a mile away and my mom used to always take me here as a kid. The dollar store was probably our favorite. You used to be able to get all kinds of awesome stuff for literally one dollar. Besides the dollar store, I have so many fond memories of this mall as a kid - Jolly Time arcade, K-mart, Kay-Bee Toys. I can remember a lot of the shops that were there 30 years ago. Probably one of the most depressing places I can visit now as a 40 year old.
Thanks for the tour Ray. I loved your use of cool jazz/vaporwave, very relaxing. It's sad these little gems are disappearing across the country. This one was truly vintage. Glad you brought us along 🙂
Loving this, buddy. That's a beautiful little mall. Yeah, great old school design and decor. I like that foot locker. I've seen many old adverts from the 80s of foit locker and those wood panels are very recognizable. Cheers Ray.🙌
its a shame they took the Bon-Ton signs down. That store had all of the different version of the Bon-Ton logo. The inside was from the 70's, the back of the building had the newest sign, and the one on the front had the 1980's version. Giant owns the Bon-Ton space, and use it for storage. The Bon-Ton closed before the massive sell off so not suprised its empty. The Lowes used to be a K-Mart back in the 80's, which of course, is gone too.
Others have already commented on the stores that used to be in this mall, but I’ll add that the Bath & Bodyworks used to be Jolly Time Arcade during its heyday. So many great memories hanging out with friends after school in the 90s spending countless quarters on arcade games there. Great video!

That mural is great. I wish I lived close enough to go see it.

Spent more time at the “mj mall” since i lived across the street on w. Ridge. Back when hills, woolsworth and the arcade were around
There was a Kmart and arcade where the Lowe’s is now.
Loving this, buddy.

I love finding old stores like that, and this mall had plenty
@@RayOutThere Do you know where you're going next?
@@TheRetroManRandySavage I have a few malls filmed, and a buncha museums in Washington DC. I just have to sit down and edit everything
@@RayOutThere awesome!
Yeah, I can imagine the editing is pretty time consuming.
It’s mellow mall time with Ray!
🎉🎉🎉
That was great. Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
I used to go to this mall as a teenager. Back then, it was bustling. It's sad to see it like this now.
Hi Ray
Great Mall tour I loved Kaybee Toys bought many things from that store

No it wasn't. Jolly Time arcade was part of the mall that was demolished to make way for Lowe's. I know because I used to go there 30 years ago.
@@blakesweeney1023Fair enough but I remember Jolly Time being in that back corner before you reached Kmart.
Used to be called the plaza mall and was pretty busy with a decent arcade.
Reminds me of the Beckley WV mall but a bit smaller. I wonder if it’s the same developer
Cool video Ray!
Ray! The jamzzz are on point!
Any Christopher Cross or Kenny Loggins vaporwave in the jukebox for next time? 🎉🎉🎉
I have to find that!
The stage is where Santa and the Easter bunny pics were taken.
What was the first song?
Somebody on the architect team was really into hexagons.
Can you list all of the songs you use for this videos ?
It's still standing. Definitely not a good sign when they have signs on how far you can walk through it lol...
Definitely not!
This reminds me of the Pittston Mall back in the day.. they turned it into a strip mall.
Coooolio
Slide slide slippity slide
Well that mall screams '80s!
What's up with the voice over? Lol I've never seen you do that. Normally you're in the frame talking
