Nice video. Walkera is now building the Runner 250 Pro with GPS, Blinkers on the arms and a cattle Guard bumper to protect the front light. Thanks for the Videos. I learn a lot from you :)
Thanks man, very usefull tips and things to look out for when when starting. Also importand is that beautiful screenshot of those basic settings. Hail Painless the great...just what i needed!
@ Painless-Thanks for the info. I've been trying to find how to change the settings on the Walkera Runner so that when armed the props don't spin up. I somehow managed to update the Firmware through the Walkera Config App(in Chinese). Looks like I need to follow these steps to change the settings? Thanks in advance.
Hello Painless, awesome video! I have a question.. Do you have any idea on how to do the ESC Calibration on these? i replaced a motor and motor doesn't stay at consistent speed..
I followed the steps in your video, and it worked the first time. When I tried again, my computer did not recognize the usb device because it had malfunctioned. Anyone know why?
I recently changed my motors to the multistar 2306 with a 4c bat. At 6% throttle my quad takes off. I seems as though there is no difference between 6-20% throttle. 25-50 you can hear the motors spooling down. When my pitch and roll p setting are at 4 the quad flips over at 6% throttle moving it down to 2.2 stops thats. But my throttle still has no range. I have no idle. All my remote settings are default. Throttle range is 1100 low and 1902 high. Any suggestions.
+Painless360 i was thinking the same thing but i am using the walkera esc and there are no instructions on how to recalibrate them. I did the leave the throttle up then power on the quad. That did not work
hi thank you for the review. there appears to be no values returned from the compass, all values show 0. i have a walkera 250 and the compass is stuck on N. Regards, David
+Painless360 p.s. early versions of the model didn't support GPS ( see other video ) so I'd suspect that is related. Lots of better options for rtf quads now...
Hi Painless just wondering if you have any Ideas? I have just received my runner and am using it with my DX7 and have bound it with two spectrum receivers one a ar100e the other ar500 the strange thing is I don't get any aileron control on either one. I have all other channels apart from that one, I have tried the aileron channel using a servo and it is functioning OK. bit stuck now? Could it be the board being faulty?
+Roy Gallagher Solved it, I have spent all night trying to resolve this problem, I have swapped transmitters, tried DX7, DX6i everything I could think of? finally I was in process of sending BG an email and video of problem, when I thought the one thing I have not tried was the servo wire for continuity going to Aileron these are brand new 100mm long servo leads why would it be broke i figured. But It was the problem all along,, I could have kicked the Quad out of window. motto being before you get technical try the simple things first,, or waste hours looking for needles in haystacks.
+Roy Gallagher Great find. If it's any help I've just had a cable off an SP3 I was shooting here as there was a dodgy connection that caused the Rx wire to make intermittent contact. Sometimes it's the simplest things! ;)Happy flying and best of luck with the rest of it..
Hi Painless, Thanks for the great information! Because of your information I've ordered 2 Runners Ver. 3. When I ordered them I thought it was possible to add GPS but now I'm not so sure. Is there no way to add GPS to these or do you need to buy the Advance Model. And now I will press the Subscribe Button! Rod
When I hit Read/Start with the Runner connected I just get a straight line and nothing happens. Ive installed the drivers, I get Com5 as an option...but it doesnt seem to be reading the Quad. I even get blinking lights on the Walkera when I choose Com5. Any idea whats happening here? I know the drivers installed correctly - but im not sure the Runner was picked up properly by the PC.
Thank you for the reply - I was using a 2200mah battery, but to rule that out as a problem tried another battery from my other quad as well. Still the same. Any more thoughts?
I pressed calib_mag and now my compass is pointing in the north! do you have any ideas how can i fix it? I tried re calibrate and reconfigure but it nothing happens.
+Painless360 tried several ways of connecting but none would. even looked in to make sure the computer saw the walkera. the computer does but the multiwii 2.2 does not. has me baffled.
You don't put in the port - the PC should allocate one. If it's not then it's a driver issue and you need to look at that. You could remove the props and power the model with the battery before connecting to the USB.. Best of luck.
can anyone help me? im building a drone and for some reason when i run the multiwiiconf and press start no data is displayed and a brown line runs horizontally infinitely
Thank you for the reply sir, Im sorry for my late response Ok i have tried searching my problem online and i could not find any solution to it So im building a quadcopter based on this website rztronics.com/arduino-flight-controller-for-your-quadcopter/ So the problem begins when i launch the multiwii conf After following the steps and as i click on start, it did not displayed what it suppose to display and all i see on the bottom right image is just a silver ball which has a arrow pointing upwards(nothing else) and also a constant brown line that runs infinitely beside the silver ball. Other reading that was supposed to be displayed was not displayed and moving my TX stick was not giving me any reading on the program. Additionally tilting the flight controller did not move the silver ball image. So basically the part of the website that state “Select the COM port to which your Arduino is connected and then click on Start” onwards did not work for me. There is also a video where 3:26 onwards it did not work for me Additionally, i have used a power distribution board to power the ESCs, Futaba R2008SB receiver(powered through port 8 and only just the signal pins are connected to the respected pin of the arduino ) and my flight controller Also im using a futaba t10cap
Sounds like a problem on your computer then, have a look in the forums for people that didn't get a com port assigned when they're plugged in there ftdi adaptor. Best of luck! I can't help too much as I've not touch multiwii for ages.
+Todd Davis Have u managed to connect? Multiwii will not connect to my Advance at all - rolled back drivers, tried on Win 10, 7 and Vista. Absolutely no joy.
Forgot to mention a bought 3-blade 5040 5x4 Inch Bullnose Propellers as these were recommended rather than the stock If you can suggest a better prop i would be grateful
Nice video. Walkera is now building the Runner 250 Pro with GPS, Blinkers on the arms and a cattle Guard bumper to protect the front light. Thanks for the Videos. I learn a lot from you :)
They sure are. Very new. I am interested in seeing if the GPS can be added to this original..
I just got the runner 250 pro. Having a very hard time getting it to connect. Nothing is working so far.
Im so glad i got into this hobby in 2018.
I see everybody else using version 2.4 of multiwii and having no issues. Is there a reason why you mentioned that caveat?
Thanks man, very usefull tips and things to look out for when when starting. Also importand is that beautiful screenshot of those basic settings. Hail Painless the great...just what i needed!

just what I was looking for, great job as usual.
Hi. Great video
Do you know if you can enable acro mode via multiwii on the runner 250 pro?
Many thanks
There is a ACRO/GRYO only mode - check out the documentation..
There is a Walkera Runner 250 GPS model.
2.2 isnt available.. anywhere else i can get the file? thx. this walkera has been problematic and want to see if I can fix some things. thx
Hello Painless, awesome video! I have a question.. Do you have any idea on how to do the ESC Calibration on these? i replaced a motor and motor doesn't stay at consistent speed..
Sorry no. I've not had to try that.. Let me know if you find out the answer..
Are you able to use the stock DEVO7 with the orange RX? If so, how did you set it up?
+atrifix No, you need a Devo7 compatible receiver. Best of luck.
Hi Painless! This quad is painful! I need a little help, how did you do to install the orange rx in the quad? That would be really appreciated.
+Darío Alomía See the other video where we do just that - the search function on the channel is very good...
Thanks! I was looking into your videos and found it! I´ll try to make that convertion today, If I had problems, I´ll let you know...
Can i use flysky i6 with this model?
I followed the steps in your video, and it worked the first time. When I tried again, my computer did not recognize the usb device because it had malfunctioned. Anyone know why?
Joshua Real time to replace the bored and stay using what you know, best safest way
Hi could you please make a updated video in how to update walkera runner 250 advance firmware.
like flip of dead, low voltage safety
+carlos rosales sorry, we gave the copter away. Best of luck with it!

hi

Sounds like the compass isn't seen by the flight controller. I'd ask the vendor for some help in case it's faulty. Best of luck
Painless360 thank you, but yours is doing the same thing. the values for MAG remain 0.
regards
+Painless360 p.s. early versions of the model didn't support GPS ( see other video ) so I'd suspect that is related. Lots of better options for rtf quads now...

+Rod Cambridge Thanks and welcome to the channel. I'm waiting to see if they sell the GPS as an option as the software is already setup for it..
Witch trasmitter you recommend for this drone? I'm not racing i don't want to spend to much $
+jose ramos see my kit list from the summer last year. Kit for all levels is covered..
Painless360 thanks im moving up from syma 8g to brushless drone
When I hit Read/Start with the Runner connected I just get a straight line and nothing happens. Ive installed the drivers, I get Com5 as an option...but it doesnt seem to be reading the Quad. I even get blinking lights on the Walkera when I choose Com5. Any idea whats happening here? I know the drivers installed correctly - but im not sure the Runner was picked up properly by the PC.
+Artur Shlifer Usually because you are not powering the model from the main battery as well as connecting to the computer..
Thank you for the reply - I was using a 2200mah battery, but to rule that out as a problem tried another battery from my other quad as well. Still the same. Any more thoughts?
No sorry. This is the way that works for me.
+Artur Shlifer I have the same problem, it was the usb cable that fixed it for me.
For me it was switching to 32bit drivers
I pressed calib_mag and now my compass is pointing in the north! do you have any ideas how can i fix it? I tried re calibrate and reconfigure but it nothing happens.
The compass should point North.. not sure what the problem is..
+Painless360 yes but it points only in the north
bng lee Ah I see, doesn't move at all?
+Painless360 yes and now i cant fly with my runner.
+bng lee Sorry no idea, you do need to be very cautious changing anything in the interface. Best of luck with it.
Would not work, computer sees the walkera but the multiwii would not . only shows close port. any thoughts on what is going on ?
What troubleshooting have you already tried?
+Painless360 tried several ways of connecting but none would. even looked in to make sure the computer saw the walkera. the computer does but the multiwii 2.2 does not. has me baffled.
Is a COM port assigned on the PC?
+Painless360 it would not even let me put in the port

Nice video !!!! Continue all your videos !! :)

Happy to help but please watch ua-cam.com/video/olIqTiSJHIY/v-deo.html and come back to me with more detail of what you've tried..
Thank you for the reply sir,

is this program the same for the new runner 250 advance racer?
+Todd Davis I expect so, I've not got one here to try it with.
+Todd Davis Have u managed to connect? Multiwii will not connect to my Advance at all - rolled back drivers, tried on Win 10, 7 and Vista. Absolutely no joy.
+Karl Wilde I have got my 250 advance yet. but when I do I will let you know.
Okidoki - please do, its doing my head in! lol. It does seam that some poeple have managed to get connected, but others havent. Gawd knows...
I have a GPS from Walkera on the way so a video on how to add one is planned...
Karl thanks for the info
When i try to open this file it tells me it cant find the javaw exe ?
Help
+spooner Graham what did searching for the error find? You need to install Java..
Forgot to mention a bought 3-blade 5040 5x4 Inch Bullnose Propellers as these were recommended rather than the stock If you can suggest a better prop i would be grateful
I tried downloding 2.2 and got Not Found
Error 404
This video (and model) is very old. Best of luck
FPV guy has a proto with the GPS
Ok thanks
Hey dude, I cant find the serial number which I need in order to access the drone from the app.
Cann you tell me where to find it?
Sorry, I've not had this model for a long time. Best of luck with it..
