Believe nothing. Do your own research. Learn. I came to the realization about 25 years ago that I could learn something from anybody I ran into....especially my employees.....everybody out there knows something YOU don't know yet...I love it! i love learn, ing something 'new to me'...so much stuff out there and now i come across this picatrix, never heard of before....i've been researching Dead Sea Scroll stuff, etc, the last several years, ....oh, boy, something new to learn!

pretty nice to see someone that puts forward the moral aspect of the instructions in the books. As far as the materials required, let's not forget that if the Torah/Septuagint/Qur'an require thousands of animal sacrifices to please God. Need to atone for your sins, kill and burn a goat, for a sweet savoury offer. Did something which might be considered a sin, kill a ram, a bollock, or whatever. The foundation of our religious practices is not too pretty, and yet, people managed to make lemonade out of lemons, which is pretty commendable, but still, with all that in mind, it makes you wonder, what God is everyone praying to😅
I am on lesson 14 of Chris Warnock's Astrological Magic Course, this also has a final lesson 15, which is the last step in the course. I am also taking the Natal Astrology course. For true mastery, one must take time for all of the various nuances to sink in your head. Astrological magic is very analytical. This stuff is difficult, plus it requires commitment to master. I love how the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids via astrological narratives/methods. It also helps if one can interpret an astrological chart. I enjoy this topic.

(ummm, i was a newb auditor at a accounting firm & we'd get tasked with doing inventory on random jobs. 2 years i did inventory in the freezing ..extra cold refrigerators & freezers of a "supplement manufacturer". There were various animal bloods, and parts , but most memorable was the 5 gallon bucket of crystalized yellow pig pituitary gland granules - worth quite a bit!! i think they could hook you up & are likely on amazon.) I found that many of the characters (especially sigils) that are present in the "Arabic Picatrix" got "Reversed/ desreveR" in the "Latin version" and was poorly drawn, so which one do you use?, The problem is mainly caused because Arabic is written from Left to Right. I am glad I found the difference by accident, because you are already an astro mage, you probably knew this already. anyways, which version do you prefer?
Yeah, absolutely. While a lot of the rituals mentioned in the Picatrix aren't really workable, most of the astrological talismans are and I've had a lot of success with them.

You said you read the book a number of times and then the first thing you say is that the book was written around the 900s, please, read the book, in the prologue, the author says "I started writing this book in the year 343 when I finished editing The Rank of The Wise, and I completed it in 348."
Nice but very surface commentary. Almost all material (except some included in the Latin manuscripts at later dates) is astrological. Just because it does not seem so, does not mean it is not. This is essentially what the „randomly“ inserted chapter refers to.

I say the book was written in the mid to late 950s. The years 343-348 in the Arabic calendar is 954-959 in the Gregorian.
