"The gym is a place where you do the least amount of work possible and still get better!!!" Mike. That's the timeless wisdom that was preached by Arthur Jones, Mike Mentzer and Dorian Yates.
@@peternagy-im4be no it isn’t lol you’re gonna listen to that coming from body builders that put in extremely hard work everyday for hours? Lol that’s stupid
Mike got the right mindset, I'm a newbie for only 5 years of lifting & in the first couple of years only made moderate gains, But begin to train more intensely, heavier with compound exercises I saw drastic results & by the way I'm in my 50's & still able to run & sprint 3 times per week, cardio is the key for me in staying lean at around 10 percent body fat.
10% is unhealthy. If that is accurate reading I would gain to get it closer to 15 which hormonically optimum. Compound is the way to go. Consider doing 6weeks heavy and 6week lower weight but more reps to failure for better results.
Most pro Body builders in the 60's and 70's ate low carb. Diets like the Steak and Egg diet, 36 eggs a day diet, and even the Fish and Tropical Fruit diet by Vince Gironda. But they would eat carbs once a week to get a good pump or what we call today as refill glycogen. Frank Zane would go low carb .5g per lb of bodyweight for 3 days and on the 4th day have 1g of carbs per 1lb of bodyweight. So Frank was having his high carb day on his rest day too because he often trained 3 days on one day off, as he was getting closer to competition. In the 80's it switched to low fat. Most pro bodybuilders in the 80s ate more carbs and kept the fat low. I think it was Tom Platz or Rick Drasin that said they should of done both diets back to back. Low fat for 2 months and then switch to low fat.
Mike should be cast as SuperMan !!!!! It's a crime Mike doesn't have this role. Does Mike realize he too is a legend ??? More people know Mike O'Hearn than last years Mr. O. Gr8 show ✌️
Im not a huge fan of O’Hearn but his info is dead on. There is no reason unless your competing to go 100% all day every set. For the rest of us trying to get your best physique 80% is perfect for longevity. I always thought with my diet to make one that is sustainable for life. I put that same mentality in fitness routine. Consistency is always more important in my experience than day to day performance. Your not gonna be able to train 6 days a week forever. I always ask people “ if you know it’s a marathon, why you in such a rush”?
Mike is willing to get botox, face lift, wear hair pieces to look better, but we are supposed to believe that what he makes his living off of, his physique, he doesn't use steroids lol.
Mike is a freak. Even if he did or is taking drugs it doesn’t matter. Guy is a freaking rock star. The only thing I don’t get is it says he was a 3 time all state defensive tackle in college. I played college and there isn’t an all state team. High school yes. I also couldn’t find what college. For some reason it just looked strange. I mean he did all the other sports and then they say oh ya he was a 3 time all state selection for football in college. If they meant all American than that is unheard of. If it was 3 time all state in high school that would make more sense.
Mike has won the best award there is….longevity and health, he’s the real MVP! ✨🤩✨
I'm 55, still training hard...Mike is a huge inspiration! Thanks Mike!

Most peoples 100% effort is really closer to 80% though so it just becomes an excuse to train like a pussy tbh
