Hellloooo! What do you think about new Baby Audio creation? Are you more into something else, like iZotope, Polyverse or Waves? Not your thing at all? Lemme know down below!
Why would anybody want to get a plug in that makes them sound like a robot? I seen a couple videos on this and they all either start or end or are completely robotic sounding? A waste of money unless you're into rap music or something
Would have been cool if there was an option that freeze can start to auto activated when there is no input sound (eg at the end of every phrase) + a time parameter (or note length/until end of bar etc) how long the freeze should be active each time (or random value between A & B). Instead of having to automate every freeze. 🤓
Not sure what you mean? If you mean me taking any drugs - I literally neved did it in my life. The room I'm recording in is actually not as bright as a daylight, see my eyes in any intro on my chan and you'll see they are same everywhere. Cheers!
Yep...same here, and I imagine combining with Nectar I should be able to get Ovox and Manipulator, and Vocal Synth to achieve what this Plug-in can do.
Honestly that's the biggest thing. Don't get caught up just buying stuff and learn to use what you have. You'd be surprised how much you can get done with things you already own.
MAuto Pitch is free (as a sh*t ton of their p/us are) and is very useful, I don't know why people pay for anything until they know if they want it. You can ALWAYS try Baby Audio stuff for free, and they freebies that kill too, Baby Comeback, Wider, Magic Dice etc. None of the others can duplicate the Baby Audio engine, and Baby Audio will never approach a p/u like the others that frankly charge too much $ anyway. 👀
Despite having Vocalsynth, Vocodine, Manipulator, TAL Vocoder, i got this one on top. Because Baby Audio is always an instant buy to me. And still all mentioned were still cheaper all together than Zynaptiq Orange Vocoder … ;) … well almost. And all as good sales compared to regular zynaptiq price to be fair … but while Orange Vocoder is great, i simply cant stand the UI. And in general the Zynaptiq stuff is quite overpriced for my taste. They are not that much better than they cost more. Plus the interfaces that give me eye cancer. ;) And Ovox? Waves? Thanks, but no thanks ;)
Hi from Athens,Greece! Poland-Greece fun fact connection. Unless if you inspired the name of the studio from a greek word , has anybody mentioned what "folia" means in greek language? (it's a good word and definitely suitable for a studio). Folia or "Φωλια" in greek is the word ,equivalent to "nest". Which is more or less what a studio is to the musician.
Hey, Athens! It's great to know, but it's even crazier... I once had a discussion, it was in 2008, about recording foley effects for the first film I ever made. I was calling foley effects in Polish - "efekty synchroniczne" - while the director called them simply "foley". As it was all during a party, I drank a bit and started wondering: "how to combine foley and efekty synchroniczne into something both short and Polish?" I came up with a word "folia", which is simply "foil" in Polish. It made no sense, I was drunk and to make things worse I decided that night: "I'll open my own studio and I'll call it Folia Soundstudio!", which was another mumble by a drunk guy. And, guess what, I did it :D Greetings!
Can you play the note shift, for key changes ? I use ovox, which I like but it’s not as straight forward to use, but humanoid interface , focuses on supporting your quick inspiration, compared to ovix, which is powerful but technically gets in the way of intuitive playing
Excellent review ! This is what I really would like to know. I have OVox and Vocal Synth 2. I feel that the OVox is brighter sounds than Vocal Synth 2. I would like to try the Humanoid.
Humanoid is actually not "very simple" at all. The most important settings of the plugin were ignored. I'm thinking of the audio buffer size option and the CALIBRATION settings for: "gate", "robotify" (SPECIFICALLY "FLATTEN", "metallic" and "emphasis"), "shape" , "widen" and even "smoothing". There's also the MAJOR custom single cycle waveform import feature. The filter section "under the hood" is not just a normal filter interchangeable with a normal EQ either. There's more than 45 parameters between the calibration and the "main" parameters. To me by far the most interesting aspect of Humanoid is the "midi" mode (aka vocoder) which wasn't demonstrated in the video either.
Calling it "very simple" I meant its learning curve and general accessibility, which are factors quite apart from any complexity, which I didn't deny. I mentioned MIDI mode and didn't review it on purpose - my vids tend to be painfully long and aren't viewed to the end when certain lenght is exceeded. Cheers! Cheers!
Naays review. It's great for creating unique soundscapes and drones using your voice with the freeze function, especially if you add some warble or automate the one note tuning. It's great on drum elements too. This Bowie's snare on Sound & Vision for example. It's fun to mess with and you regularly come across useable sounds.
underwhelming. i would recommend to people who came late to the party. If you own some vocoders in soft and/or Hardware you have your tools. no need to jump on this. Also i think it isn´t as complete as vocalsynth 2 and not es fancy as manipulator. nothing that hypes me. no G.A.S for me here.
Looks interesting but I don't look past the Zynaptiq Orange Vocoder for these type of vocal effects. I'm not going to pretend that I understand everything it can do but imho it's the best sounding and most flexible vocal synth type thing. Just throw it on a vocal track and go through the presets and I think you'll see what I mean.
I currently mixed a rap song with Orange Vocoder. It's fantastic. That's why I wonder if Humanoid can add something to it. The comparison with iZotope, Polyverse, Waves helped. Adding Antares, Zynaptiq would be nice. Maybe something for a future video.

Awesome demo. Thank you.
No probs, thank you too!

clicked like for the unreal shirt alone! :D

T r u e ! Good idea!
Unreal 1998 t-shirt where did you get it from ?
My mans eyes are like dinner plates, what gear are you on pal?!

@@FoliaSound Just high on life yeah?
I use ovox and I think it has a lot more options than humanoid. Why do you think humanoid is better? Can you elaborate a little more?
I have both Ovox and Manipulator but I need to start using the stuff I buy before getting another one. 😅
Oh, you definitely should tweak both!

Id like to try it on a track other than vocals 🧡
Everything that comes out of this plugin sounds like a dying fly. It's GARBAGE.
It sounds horrible doesn't it?
