I think if my father had shown my brother and me his true heart, with tears and laughter and everts in between, my brother wouldn’t have had so much pain, later in life. My oldest brother introduced this incredible hymn to myself and siblings to encourage us during COVID 19 lockdown, as both of our parents were 90 and in long term care. He and my brother’s didn’t miss a TFG conference. Well on May 5th, he was struck and killed instantly in a horrific accident. Unable to have a proper funeral and be together is so hard. Our hearts are shattered but we don’t say he was taken because we know he has arrived. 57 in excellent health, we wanted many more years with him. I will never listen to this without sobbing. And he’d introduced another one He will hold me fast. That’s the only way to get through this is being held fast. What a wonderful promise and Saviour. My comfort is knowing he’s with the Lord he loved so much, and my assurance is I will see him again. Hug those loved ones tight.

I think if my father had shown my brother and me his true heart, with tears and laughter and everts in between, my brother wouldn’t have had so much pain, later in life. My oldest brother introduced this incredible hymn to myself and siblings to encourage us during COVID 19 lockdown, as both of our parents were 90 and in long term care.
He and my brother’s didn’t miss a TFG conference.
Well on May 5th, he was struck and killed instantly in a horrific accident. Unable to have a proper funeral and be together is so hard. Our hearts are shattered but we don’t say he was taken because we know he has arrived. 57 in excellent health, we wanted many more years with him. I will never listen to this without sobbing. And he’d introduced another one He will hold me fast. That’s the only way to get through this is being held fast. What a wonderful promise and Saviour. My comfort is knowing he’s with the Lord he loved so much, and my assurance is I will see him again. Hug those loved ones tight.

Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life), I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. This is what worship should be, true, reverent, and from the heart, I would not give you a counterfeit wooden nickel for some of the stuff they call gospel music today.
This wonderful piece of music has a singable melody, beautiful harmony, and just the right touch of rhythm that doesn't overpower all else.
That makes it rare these days... separate from the crowd, and therefore capable of the description: Holy. Separation is the essence of holiness.

@@gerryjames9720 I see you're point, but in another sense, this will all matter very much then. History is God's love story. It is part of why he is worthy, for what he accomplished in history. The story and the stories will be told many times then, His and our parts in it. All for His glory. The sad thing is that we here don't always see clearly what reality is, how God is working out His plan in History.
Worship that is rooted in the transcendent is beyond words. We join what is already going on in Heaven. Holy, holy, holy.
