Great review. Don’t understand why people go crazy for this one

I had a Kilkerran 12 the other day at a bar... pretty nice. Didn't blow me away but it was enjoyable. I bought a bottle Kilkerran 8 CS a few years ago... really enjoyed that one.

Great review again. Sipping the batch 7, and many of the same notes hold true. Can’t help but think Springbank is using the Kilkerran line to experiment. Good example is the Kilkerran 2019 8 year sherry cask. It explodes in popularity, then in 2020 Springbank releases a HEAVILY sherried local barley. Every Kilkerran I’ve had drinks like a beta version of a more refined Springbank.

I thought 5 was better than 6 and 6 was better than 7. Haven’t got around to the later batches yet but I hope that’s not a trend.

One of the best batch so far for me and one of the best young enjoyable peaty whisky ever. So much going on and this farm funk for me is something special. 25% sherry is perfect proportion to 75% bourbon. Only bad thing is i have no backup. Now i sipping batch 7. Still enjoy but not the same way. 20% sherry on batch 7 and 8 is wee step back in my opinion but still is the nice dram. Thank you lads. Good review aa always. 👍😁🥂🙋🏻‍♂️

The Campbeltown Loch sherry edition is pretty tasty and better than Kilkerran 12 or Springbank 10 and for $55 it was worth buying a bunch of them. The sherry is done right and at a mid level. Way better than the regular from July 2022 and that was decent after it opened up. I hope to get some new Springbank 12 CS that is mid sherried

Nice one guys, I had the work in progress Bourbon wood and liked that one but I don’t seek out Kilkerran these days.

It’s a little better then that one but you aren’t missing much.

I had the early batches and they were too young. I have to say it's getting good right now. Still young but the balance is right. A beefy whisky. £45 in the U.K and a good value buy. WT

I still have some nightmares on the batch 2. That wasn't ready for the public. This was nice, but at 100 USD I think they still need a bit more maturity. Right now this costs the same as a springbank 10 and at least on this side of the pond is less available.

I am still not ready to try another after not liking Batch 4.

So SBs going to 700 ml should give us some price relief? Good news!

I think one store dropped the 10 from 99.98 to 99.97 with the change....

@topshelfdustin3060 Hey, smaller size, no box (except for the LB)... Those pennies start adding up!

I just listened to The Whisky Vault's review of 60.9 is Batch Two Kilkerran Heavily Peated, which was not a very good batch IMO, when compared with the others. I've tasted them all. I found Batch Two it to be quite minerally and almost mescal-like. I didn't detect very many of the tasting notes that both of the Whisky Vault blokes mentioned.
But their tasting notes in their YT review of Batch Two DO apply to later batches. I'm thinking they read up online for tasting notes and mixed up their batches. I'm not surprised. They censored my comments.
The little guy in charge is kind of a wilting violet. His reviews these days are all about him, personally. A bit of a narcissist. It seems, at least in that review of the Batch Two, that both of them didn't really attempt to use their own noses and mouths to analyze the whisky.

I need to watch that review! 🤣
They are popular and maybe that’s the goal of the channel. But I will say that Kilkerran is a polarizing distillery.
