Ohh they do two. Looking at my Revzilla purchase history (which is as long as a phone book 😳) I noticed I bought a considerable amount of shit when I first started. Really funny looking at some of these orders, very clear when I tried to buy some cheap garbage and came back 2 weeks later and bought the better version 😂.
I've been watching Doodle since the S40 days. I was teaching my wife about the same time Doodle started her channel. They both have come a long way. Myself been riding since I was 8 years old now 50+ years and 200k+ miles on the seat.
I've been watching Doodle since the beginning of her channel! She is an amazing person, and I admire her because she's conquering all her fears and living out her adventures! Not many people are that dedicated regardless of their gender, age and size! What she's doing is truly admirable, and people like her give me motivation that I can also achieve my goals on 2 wheels and in life in general! Take care you all and always ride safe and take all necessary precautions! Have a great one, and goodbye!
Doodle, you did great on this interview. You listened, didnt talk over anyone, great storytelling. Basically everything was great. I'm not sure if you had previous interviews like this before, but props. You're a gem.
Motorcyclists and guitarists share at least two things in common, culture wise. One is the welcoming and encouraging culture. We're just glad you're here and that there are more people to share our passion with. Both can also be a bit religious about the brands and models we love without being too harsh on others with differing opinions, as opposed to say the automotive world, e.g., Ford vs Chevy. (I am also very happy with the new Gibsons and have bought a new 50's LP Standard; great guitar.)
Grew up on fort bragg and my dad was a green barrette. Knew of a few army special operators. They do get offroad motorcycle training. This was in the late 2000s by well known honda rider and ambassador Ricky Johnson. They were at a local track when i was there practicing. Got to chase him around the track during their break. One of my favorite motocross memories.
The Gibson new CEO is a bit of a renaissance man. He was a very successful “special situations” banker with Deutsche Bank in New York (i.e. he invested in and restructuring difficult or unusual companies and opportunities with very big dollars)-and I think he might have headed the group-before he started his own investment fund, Melody Capital, which was also very successful and managed over $1 billion before he left for Gibson. Given his fund’s name (Melody), I am thinking that guitars and music were always an important part of his life before he started to turn his serious hobby into his vocation. So he was a very successful businessman before he joined Gibson in marketing/product, which evidently showed and landed him in the CEO role in a relatively short time. So he was already acting in similar high powered leadership jobs before starting his Gibson quick ride to the top.
It was 3am in the morning... uhhg.. awake.. my mind racing from an incident that happened at work the day before, I decided to open the tube up and saw a revzilla podcast... something about doodle.. I clicked on it, put my phone down in the hope the soothing voices of Spurge, Zach and guest would put me off to sleep... some time went by and I was transported to a house with a sandpit used for construction, I was laying back in a wicca Pappasan lounge, I opened my eyes and there were my favourite podcast presenters, a short Motul ad and I was introduced as a guest on the podcast.. little old me, with my little old Kwakka Saké channel.. Hey I ran with it and all of a sudden I was asked on my opinion on what would be my unicorn bike 😊I was filled with pride as I stated I already have that bike in my stable, his name is Hopper and he is a KLR650, the trustiest steed I have ever had the pleasure of riding. Things were going great when Spurges neighbour turned up and parked their car in the gutter, it was quite a steep hill, the driver stepped out and off went the car with 2 children in the back seat, running down the hill in reverse, I jumped to attention and ran after that car only to be told it was OK.. the kids are inside and the car always does that by the way, it will come back when it is ready, I assume it was their mother telling me of this new fandangle A.I. electric car... Long story short I enjoyed my time with you guys and you even let me stay at your place, in that Pappasan, outside in the sand pit.. ✌️😊 p.s. I gained an extra 100 subscribers thanks to your podcast.. thanks guys and of course Motul..😅
I used to ride across state for work each day I found if you watched the radar, you can usually see about 4 hours ahead of your current location and you can zoom out to see the whole state.
Great pod cast guys. I love that you have had two of my favorite UA-camrs on the pod cast. I have been watching both Itchy Boots and Doodle on a bike from the beginning. Keep up the good work.
The petcock got me one of my first times riding lol. I thought my heat gauge was a gas gauge and was impressed how my "fuel" was magically increasing as I rode. I sputtered out in the Jersey bogs and fortunately a couple older Harley guys stopped and helped me out. Felt pretty dumb but saved me from calling a tow.
Always love the conversation about experiences and discussion on what to do with family and spouses disapprove of our choices to ride. Always an issue, may never be a solution, but at least talking about it helps me feel better.
I think it would be cool to ride with Keanu Reeves. He has a big collection of exotic bikes I would love to ride. It would be so surreal riding with Keanu too
@zackcourts, thanks for asking about the Gauntlet outline. I knew it was a course of some sort, but I can't recall Doodle ever mentioning it in her videos, and I was hoping it would come up in this interview. I think that what makes Doodle's videos interesting and relatable is precisely the "taking the journey from the beginning" part, combined with the elasticity of her spirit. She gets down sometimes, but always bounces back. She shares her failures, as y'all do on Common Tread, but her failures and fears are much more like mine as a novice rider (1+ year of experience). The one time I dropped a liter bike while stopped at an intersection, my first instinct was to think "screw it" and walk away. I've seen her drop bikes dozens of times, and the fact that she keeps picking them up helps me to want to follow that example.
Reminds me of the time I rode my ZRX1200 across the George Washington Bridge in a monsoon of a rainstorm with 50mph winds. I was leaned over as if going thru a corner the whole way across with even the sheets of rain going sideways.
My answers to some of the lightning questions feel passe, but I didn't see them in the comments yet. Person to ride with: Steve McQueen. Point to point, glance and nod at line up, hours trying to keep up with a legend over the high desert landscape. All time motorcycle I'd want to experience: Vincent Black Shadow. Doing the Ton and then some in the Interwar years, combined with its exquisite beauty, and the noise of those swooping pipes: seems like a truly amazing experience.
It was was a great show, I’m a drummer and my son is guitarist. He has a black beauty and I llve the sound. Love Doodle too! It was great see you in Sturgis and have breakfast with you Zack
At bout 45:00 you're talking about getting tired on long trips. I used to get tired before I started using earplugs. It's all bout the loud noise. I now also wear earplugs when I do long driving long distance not just on the motorcycle.
Doodle Questions: 1. Mars, because I'm boring (and it'd be a neat place). 2. Great Teacher Onizuka, OR Kino from Kino's Journey. Real world, maybe fun to ride with Noraly or Tiffani Burkett. I think riding with a character like Onizuka would be more... spontaneous and prone to "unexpected adventures" than a real world person. 3. Modern day KLR650 Diesel with a 10 gallon tank that manages to hit 80mpg minimum. Comes with a trim level that allows for an Airbox Snorkel and Exhaust Snorkel that are handlebar-level. Maybe the Trim Level with extra snorkels could be called "Hian Edition" for Hurricane Ian while sounding japanese-ish. Maybe even a higher trim level that has the snorkels but also a 5 gal auxiliary tank from factory, this trim level could be called "Outback" or something since well.. you'd have enough range to cross the outback if you go like 45mph in 6th gear 😂😂
Oh man. Rev trivia. The moment you hear it start up and know its a bike you have sitting in your garage and have a good idea what aftermarket exhaust it has on it too lol... Its graat! I immediately was like oh that's a Mt09. I thought the exhaust was the Two Brothers Racing but i got the bike right at least.
The grasshoppers in Montana and North Dakota on my way back from Get On Adv Fest were insane! Constant tapping on my boots and the skid plate was yellow 🤮
I don't enjoy heavy bikes. One time I had to jump out of my work truck to help a guy pick up his bike on a busy road. It was embarrassing for him and dangerous for both of us.
i think you guys should extend the “not the news” section to 5 minutes or maybe more. i think most of the audience enjoys your takes on what’s happening in the industry, and the current time limit seems too short. great episode!
Trona Pinnacles is AWESOME, I've camped out there, you can camp out there for free. It's so weird landscape. It's near China Lake Naval Weapons Station and if you're lucky you'll see the highest level of fighter jet technology flying overhead
I'm still hoping to eventually have a bike with fuel injection. But I started riding in late '88 with an '81 Honda CB 250RS, then went through two CB 250 Twins ('78 and '77), a '72 Suzuki GT250 (250cc being the upper limit in Australia for anyone on a learner's permit)...then upgraded to a '76 GS 750...and I currently ride a '79 CB 750-F on the daily. And eventually, I intend to learn about things like a daily check over, but haven't yet. One day I hope to get a Honda CB1100 for all those handy mod-cons like injection and ABS and LED lights...but the budget won't stretch that far yet. And yes, I know they're underpowered and old-fashioned. But so am I. 😁
Doodle, Collier County Sheriffs Department in Naples Florida does a free 2 day SMART Rider training class with their Motor Officers. I did it in May, it was amazing! You should check it out! Jacksonville provides the classes also.
Spurge, there is a working Honda NR in the flesh on display at Dreamcycle Motorcycle Museum in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada if you ever would like to get close to one.
If Robbie Maddison rode a wave off shore on his dirtbike fitted with a paddle tire and a skimming device for the front wheel, I think with a good paddle tire it would be possible to surf the rocks and dust around Saturn's rings, right? Hahahaha
something i’d want to ride is a landspeeder from the ewok star wars , sorry don’t know which one , but those landspeeders in the jungle had me mesmerized as a kid
Doodle is one of the people that convinced me to get back into riding. I'm also an Atlantian. I saw her Triumph ( at an MSF event) before she let the cat outta the bag and what a perfect bike for her. She inspires adventures that people like me can try. Anyway, hello Doodle. I live 2 miles from C2W shop so Ill probably run into them first. 😢
Carolyn and Jocelin Snow are both inspirations to my wife who is 4’8” herself… granted my wife isn’t really interested in motorcycling *but* she has watched videos of both these ladies and said how amazed she is to see their talents at riding big bikes and how motivating it is to see others of her stature out there doing it.
Petite women are extremely attractive, but not just for their looks but their ability to punch above many other women. They seem to be high achievers in many endeavors.
Good questions, Doodle. I'd like to ride a speeder bike on the Moon of Endor, then go to California and ride vintage Triumph desert sleds with Bud Ekins and Steve McQueen. I agree that learning basic maintenance is an important part of riding motorcycles. You should learn to change your oil and fluids, tighten your chain if needed, etc.
CEO... on guitars and motorcycles, there are loads of us into both. For every category of bikes or bikers, there is a category of guitars and guitarists. Fret boards alone vary in style as much as going from a hill climber to a HD. So the psyche of running the respective companies would be very similar.
@@stravoxylo3678 i use to live in Christchurch NZ and I'm and engineer by trade, it was very unfortunate that they couldn't find a backer to keep it going, it really was a very inventive smart group of people. I got to sit on most of the bikes, they had a museum not far from the Christchurch cathedral and one of my martial arts students and i use to go to visit it on a regular basis.
@@shanekeat7473 that's awesome. I agree that it's a shame the project didn't continue. I'll always admire the thinking that went into designing and building the Britten!
Maybe you have, I haven't watched all your episodes, but I've never heard you guys do an episode talking about helmets. I've been riding for about a year. I ride a KTM 690 Enduro R, and a Triumph Scrambler 900, and I wear a Bell MX-9 Adventure MIPS helmet. I always wonder about how other helmets would sound like while I'm riding, and how they would feel. I feel the wind a lot on mine when I am going above 70 mph. I also use a Cardo now, and so I think about the noise coming into the helmet now. Maybe bring someone onto the podcast who does lots of different things on motorcycles and has used a large variety of helmets over the years. Helmets are too expensive to buy and use just for a while. This would be a very beneficial episode to your viewers if you did something like this.
I'm surprised none of them thought of it but I'd ride with Arthur Davidson, I'd love for him to see what motorcycle culture is like in the modern day and the advancements in tech
Riding on the moon would be an amazing experience! I don't think normal ICE bikes work there tho, cause of the whole no oxygen thing, but electric bikes and rocket bikes would!
Speaking as someone who has done several hundred thousand kilometers of motorcycle riding, I have to say Zack is wrong.. Snickers ice cream is the best ice cream ever
My place to ride would be a trip from the southern point of South America to northern part of Alaska like itchy boots! And as far as who I would want to ride with, I’m probably gonna have to go with Steve McQueen. He loved motorcycles and he was just one. Cool dude! I have always wanted to ride a Yamaha VMax! I don’t know how I’ve gone this long without writing one. I have wanted to have one since I was probably 12 years old!
A couple of comments on the CEO discussion: 1) History has shown that the leader of a company should be an expert in the business of the company he leads, if possible, passionate about it. "Car guys" have been the best leaders of car companies, for example, as their leadership leads to better, more interesting, even exciting products. 2) It is also best for a company's leader to be from the same country and culture, so a better leader of that company, although this is less an issue than 1, above.
Spurgeon, hope you read " The Rational Male" . Not sure why you would invite the government into your relationship. But as far as the podcast. It was a good interview for Doodle. I did not see a common theme with this one.
I am so confused - Ryan F9 has already been on, but there were more episodes? Luckily a good surprise. For the questions: I would ride at the fabled boob world from rick and morty, because.... you know why With Ghost rider, because I don't care what people think of the movie or Nickolas Cage, he just looks cool with a flaming skull.... good old fashioned cool! As for the last, I don't have a really good answer, so I will stick with the realistic answers, and steal a little from Zach, so we would go there on modified spacecraft Tron bikes!
I would like to ride with Wolverine. I would be on my SDR and he could ride whatever he wanted. We would steer clear of dive bars and military facilities though….
Bike companies need to create 12 or 18 month lease programs for beginner style bikes. Make it easier for beginners to get onto a bike and then move up to a bigger bike without taking a financial beating.
I’m a chubby guy and I don’t show bruises easily. Opened my visor on a side street to get some air and immediately caught a giant moth the the eyeball and spent a couple weeks looking like a gorilla punched me in the eye
Doodle, what about the Wall of Death, is that something that you think you would like to do? i know I would like to do it and I am going on 72. It's just another thing.
Make sure you're sitting down for this. It's going to be shocking. Executives, especially CEOs, make a lot more in the US than their counterparts in other countries. For this reason, you see a lot of executives across all industries come to the US to make more money.

Really funny looking at some of these orders, very clear when I tried to buy some cheap garbage and came back 2 weeks later and bought the better version 😂.
Congratulations to Caroline for making it on a Revzilla podcast!

How come every metal band always sound better with a little Les Paul 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Loved that you had Doodle on the channel. It is nice hearing a newer rider's perspective along with the grizzly ole vets
Doodle has done an awesome job in inspiring more people to ride. Doodle Rocks!
Guitars are definitely not universal. They’re just as varied and passionate and sentimental as bikes are to us
Thanks for a fun interview with Doodle. My wife & I are longtime riders and we really enjoy her vids. Two wheels down from Tx.
now im addicted to these podcasts! this is great content.

The Gibson new CEO is a bit of a renaissance man. Surprisingly great interview, not a doodle fan but I had alot of fun.

Here you are being awesome, again.
What a difference from your very first video!
On the CEO topic, let's just say it: It only matters, or is even talked about, in the Harley community.
Star Trek, where Kirk asked “What does God need with a Star Ship?”
That was filmed at the Trona Pinnacles….

@@stravoxylo3678 not bad for a guy that could hardly read or write i reckon!
I'm riding with Peter tomorrow, Spurge. Why don't you hop on over here to Wisconsin and join 🙃
The Royal Enfield “Flea” was a small motorcycle that the UK had soldiers would jump out of an airplane during WW2.
Great show!
Peter Eagan is a great answer. I have met him. Great guy.
The way Doodle won that Engine sound guessing game! 🤌🏻
Definitely not a triple😅
Please take this show to anew level by interviewing Peter Eagan.
always enjoy the conversations in these videos :)
You guys are great, you could have made Doodle look very bad, but you took the Hight Road.
The old adventure tv series Sea Hunt with star Lloyd Bridges had a small, probably battery powered scooter that will pull you along under water.
Riding on the moon would be an amazing experience! I don't think normal ICE bikes work there tho, cause of the whole no oxygen thing, but electric bikes and rocket bikes would!
You can ride anywhere you pick the moon? Id be ripping around the Shire or Mordor on a dirt bike!
Doodle is a sweetheart
Aha and the zac becomes the” bring it back “one of the podcast well done dear sir lol
Doodles is the GOAT 🐐! So glad you had her on !
Question 1 Answer: The rim of a Black Hole, just before the Event Horizon.
Question 2 Answer: Johnny Blaze aka The Ghost Rider
The bike would be the Battlestar Galactica motorcycle….
Definitely difficult finding other bikers to ride with! Picking up a new bigger bike on Wednesday! Wooooot!! 🙌 🏍️
Happy riding everyone and stay safe!
Awesome episode 🎉 just bought my first proper motorcycle so hearing theses stories are great and hilarious 😂 😊
i’m surprised one of you guys wouldn’t want to ride with steve mcqueen. that would be legendary. no helmets, lit cigarette
You guys (And Doodle) should interview Sarah Lezito. The French female stunt rider.
Agree
If a company get a foreign ceo
As long as they are the best person for that position then let it ride
A couple of comments on the CEO discussion:
1) History has shown that the leader of a company should be an expert in the business of the company he leads, if possible, passionate about it. "Car guys" have been the best leaders of car companies, for example, as their leadership leads to better, more interesting, even exciting products.
2) It is also best for a company's leader to be from the same country and culture, so a better leader of that company, although this is less an issue than 1, above.
Doodle! 👍
Am I the only one that thought “Labradoodle with goggles in a sidecar” when they saw this title?
If not the Snickers ICE CREAM... the KIND ice cream bars are also magical.
Don't listen to those big bullies, Spug, you're handsome boy. Congratulations on tying the knot! Probably should have gone with a mustache though...
For the questions:
I would ride at the fabled boob world from rick and morty, because.... you know why
With Ghost rider, because I don't care what people think of the movie or Nickolas Cage, he just looks cool with a flaming skull.... good old fashioned cool!
100 percent that was a Yamaha triple (Tracer 9 owner). Don't pay attention to the exhaust.
