💛💜Who is Aico Simon?・自己紹介
Aico Simon is a Japanese singer-songwriter based in Southern California who has collaborated with artists from the United States, Cuba, Mexico and Japan. She became the lead vocalist for a Grammy nominated Puerto Rican salsa band for 8 years. She has performed nationally and internationally at various music festivals, night clubs and events. In 2019, she became an independent artist and composer. That same year, her first single “Habana” was released.
Aico’s music is a manifestation of her unique life experience, combining elements of J-Pop music and Cuban music into a whole new genre; one that transcends cultures around the world. Anyone who listens to this music will be deeply impressed by the love of life and fundamental joy of the people that is ever-present in Aico’s compositions and performances.
神戸出身。シンガーソングライター、パフォーマーとして、ロス近郊のサンディエゴで活躍中。ラテングラミー賞ノミネートのサルサバンドでリードボーカルを8年勤め、日本人によるスペイン語でのライブパフォーマンスとサルサダンスが好評となる。2019年アメリカでソロデビュー。人気グループ Orchestra de la Luzに継ぐ、次世代の日本人サルサ歌手として注目される。

«Toro mata» es una obra musical desarrollada inicialmente por los esclavos africanos en el valle de Cañete en el Perú. Una de las recopilaciones más famosas de toro mata fue realizada por Caitro Soto. Es una canción influenciada por estilos musicales afroperuanos (fue popularizado como un tema del género landó), y con el pasar de los años, se ha hecho conocida por muchos como el himno de la cultura negra en el Perú.

I wonder if they'll ever take advantage that she speaks Japanese and make some covers of salsa hits and she would sing in Japanese as well, or brings some Japanese hits and turn them into salsa songs, something similar what the band "AFRICANDO" did, as well as "Rhythms Del Mundo" and some others that made them unique.

My original songs incorporate Japanese and Spanish. When I hear music, I do reimagine it in different styles so J-POP could be rearranged in salsa style. My goal is to show the universal connection that music gives all of us. Thanks for your support.
