      Nikolay Nikolov well you will need some kind of bugg (bees perhaps) for pollination

    • @Tamizushi

      NTDang Polinisation can be done manually, or you could grow plants that don't need pollinators. Or if you really want to be efficient, you can eat algae for the rest of your life.

      ***** While you would perhaps be able to do this to strengthen your muscles, your bones would also be weaker. This also does not help that your heart wouldn't be as strong because it wouldn't have to pump as hard to force your blood up through your body.

    There's no atmosphere because the sun had blown it away. That's due to the lack of a magnetosphere, because the core is no longer molten like earth. To keep exposure from the sun's radiation to a minimum one should ideally burrow underground. Olympus Mons would be ideal as there should be lava tubes in and around that extinct volcano.
    That being said, if all the requirements for human life was met, I would live there. I have a great desire to live alone.

    It's like everyone forgets it's a dead planet. And I mean dead as no tectonic movement and no (spinning) hot core that protects you from solar radiation..

    • @Sentinalh
      @Sentinalh 9 років тому +17

      12Music72 Fire a bunch of lasers at it, melt it and get it turning again. No joke, that was an actual proposal and it would work in theory.

    • @12Music72
      @12Music72 9 років тому +43

      That would be one hell of a powerfull laser

    • @Sentinalh
      @Sentinalh 9 років тому +19

      12Music72 I think the proposal involved like hundreds of thousands if not millions of lasers.
      Another proposal was to build an enormous solar reflector at Mars to focus more of the Sun's light on it.
      The other was to build factories on Mars that could use elements from the martian soil to produce methane, like Super Green House Gas factories to build up a methane atmosphere that would trap enough heat to warm the planet to the point that you could start a positive feedback loop.

    • @12Music72
      @12Music72 9 років тому +5

      But then you still don't have an active core? Hence the solar radiation, like earths magnetic field does.

    • @Sentinalh
      @Sentinalh 9 років тому +1

      12Music72 Well the idea is that if you can warm the planet enough you can melt the core and get it flowing again and get a magnetic field.

    I think the real question is could we actually live on Earth.
    We are tribes that are still fighting like little children over stupid things, even though we have all the knowledge, the technology, and the resources to answer the needs of every person on earth, if we only learn to relax and collaborate with each other.

      +Goodguy001 Its sad you know. I see only two possibilites : 1. We fight each other and wipe out human life with nukes. 2. We wait years and realize Earth will soon be a barren desert like Mars and die that way.

    • @finisher3012
      @finisher3012 9 років тому +1

      well that's certainly not true.
      The real problems when it comes to Mars colonization are harnessing gravity, lack of atmosphere on Mars, radiation, great distance between earth and mars, etc.
      0.4g (gravity on Mars) is enough to turn our system around and fuck up our bones, heart and muscle mass.
      the heavy amount of radiation is enough to rip off the atoms in our body.
      the solar winds can cause damage to equipments and other devices.
      these are just some of the barriers. there are many others which we haven't come across yet.

    • @mbanana23456
      @mbanana23456 9 років тому +2

      Nihar Rane the low gravity won't really matter much unless your planning to go back to earth, but the radiation and solar winds are still pretty big problems

    The title is misleading.
    It indicates that the video will be about whether or not we can wield the mechanisms required to travel to Mars and if it is possible for humans to survive on Mars, but the video was actually quite theoretical and explained Mars's geology more than means of survival.

  • @albertchehade9916

    Mars became a dead planet because it somehow lost its magnetosphere due to having a small Core that was not so hot.
    Then the Sun's radiation took control and belted its atmosphere in to space, and the rest is history.
    It does exist right on the furthest edge of the 'Goldilocks Zone', so if it was possible for Mars to maintain its magnetosphere, then it would have been an ideal 'Holiday Destination' at only 43M away.
