Still remember listening to this record for the first time in 1980. Law of primacy. This is such a standout song. Rick Allen’s long, winding drum fills, catchy chorus, growling rhythm guitars, background vocal assault. Can’t ask for anything better. They really had their own sound and style relative to their 2nd British Invasion counterparts. Younger, brighter, not as heavy as Judas Priest or Maiden. Sounds as fresh today as it did back then.

To this day it's the best concert I ever saw live. That was a good 9/11 memory 20 years later not so much. To the early posts about this not being hard rock .. High & Dry is my favourite Def Leppard album and yes, they changed their sound after that but you can't deny the quality of Pyromania and Hysteria. As far as 80's pop metal goes they are unbeatable albums. After Hysteria the song writing went downhill and they became a "one or two good songs per album" band.
Love this! Never knew about this footage. To me, this DL at it's best. Melodic, hard rock but rawer than the stuff that would follow Pyromania, which to me ends the DL's best studio period, though I'm glad they got the fame and fortune they deserved.
Is that Pete Willis playing leads on this? The solo he plays here is different than the album but he really had the Michael Schenker lead licks happening on a few songs on that album!! Love it!!
