Hey everyone! I just updated the link to the transcription. Apparently, some were having problems opening it. If for any reason you're still having issues, click on the blog post link. The transcription download can be found at the bottom of the post.

Gorgeous chords. Lots of parrel harmony I thinj.
Allan was a genius chordal composer ad well as virtuoso.
Wish I could get AH presets onto my magic stomp. Seems impossible with Mac.
Instead I dialled the delays into two quad delays on my kemper. Works quite well

Thanks for the video! I wanted to learn how to play this for a long time. How did you discover the alternate tunings/modeler settings?

Thank you! I watched some live performances, and saw that Allan was using mostly three-note chord voicings, which meant that he was using a harmonizer to generate extra notes. Allan often set his harmonizer up or down a perfect 5th, so I just tried going up a 5th and it sounded right. I also knew that at the time of the original recording, Allan used a Roland VG-8 for guitar modeling, and it sounded like he was using the Strat model. From there it just took a bit of experimentation on the GP-10 to get the tone right. The Holdsworth algorithms on the Yamaha Magicstomp help a lot as well.

which patch did you use from the magic stomp?

The preset is called AH Chorus1, which is one of the Holdsworth presets from the UD Stomp that can be imported into the MagicStomp. There’s a MagicStomp Facebook group that has links to the UD presets and a MagicStomp editor that works on modern computers.

Are you getting this keyboard texture clean tone with Axe FX 2/3 ? or with some kind of other Midi expander ? (+ a Midi PU)
......could you make a video on how to build this kind of tone 🤠

In this video I’m using a Yamaha MagicStomp. It has all the UD Stomp presets written by Allan himself. The way the chorus tone works here is interesting. It’s achieved by 8 modulated delays of various lengths running in parallel and individually hard-panned left and right to create the huge stereo image.
These days, there are a variety of hardware and software solutions you can use to replicate this. The Axe-FX 2/3 can certainly do it. You can also do it with plugins in your DAW by running 8 instance of a delay. As long as your plugin allows you to modulate the delay line, you’re good to go. Yamaha has parameter list for the UD Stomp that shows all the settings for the Holdsworth presets. Matching those settings with your hardware/software of choice is a good place to start, but it does take some experimentation. In the video description there’s a link to a PDF download that goes over my setup.

@David Schwartz thanks 4 taking the time to give extra details of this ....i know you already explained partially this in your video.... yeah the UD Stomp is a killer piece of gear ^_^ i have right now a Boss Gt100 but no way to achieve a 8 // Delays with different settings ......im willing to upgrade to an Axe FX II XL very soon in order to benefit from the MultiPlex Delay/Detune/Pitch +++ the killer routing capability +++ ................so freakin awesome 🤟there is a UD Stomp in my country right now available for 250 bucks maybe if i have some cash i'll get one coz it's a legendary holy grail FX but i think an Axe FX II would be a better choice
