Wombles was a children's TV show. Some hedgehog looking puppet animation. I thought this episode was the funniest thing in the world when I was about 11 years old. It's still pretty wild compared to modern day stuff.
Bottom is comic genius. If you have a minute do a web search for the following: "rik mayall fan letter" and look at the image, it's the one where someone asked for his autograph, Rik was a genius :)
There were times when Rik and I were writing together when we almost died laughing. They were some of the most carefree, stupid days I ever had, and I feel privileged to have shared them with him and now he’s died for real. Without me. Selfish bastard.” 🥺
Bottom is one of my all time favourite sitcoms. I was really disappointed they never made a 4th series. But hey, we still got all the live shows (which are also brilliant) and a full feature movie though. :)
Laughed so much during this ..... don't remember this episode so it's like a first time viewing. The Wombles was a kids TV show featuring a family of large woolly puppets who lived on Wimbledon Common in London and picked up all the litter. They had a few hit records as well as the TV show. Everyone in England would know what a Womble is !
The episode was cancelled in 1992 as a murder happened at around the same time it was due to be aired at Wimbledon Common. Was later shown after series 3 had finished in 1995, thats why you probably didn't see it
@@smithdogg2128 thanks ........ that would explain it!. I do remember the infamous murder on Wimbledon Common but didn't realise the date significance.
I don't know why. But the bit where he tried to blow the lamp inside the tent out and instead burns his face was always my favourite bit of this episode.
This episode was supposed to be on TV for series 2 in 1992 but didn't show because of a real life murder on Wimbledon Common where the episode is set around the same time. It didn't get shown until after the whole of series 3 had been aired in 1995
One of the best episodes for dialog rather than just physical comedy is Hole (the one on the Ferris wheel?).I had most of that memorised when I was younger.still, along with the s'out episode we just saw are 2 of my fave episodes
The original air date of this episode was actually postponed several weeks because it’s set on Wimbledon Common and features a round weirdo streaker guy and a couple of days before it was originally due to air a young women called Rachel Nickell was found murdered on Wimbledon Common and they figured it wouldn’t be well received so soon after it all happened.
Apparently Eddie's full name revealed elsewhere is Edward Eddie Elizabeth Hitler; Richie's is Richard Richard. In The Young Ones Adrian Edmondson played a vicious punk called Vivian Bastard who studied medicine, and Rik play Rik, an anarchist sociology student...
Haha I did the old zip thing too at 10, i went swimming in the sea with pants on so didn't wear them home. you pull yer zip up fast then notice a bit of your foreskin on the outside of a closed zip. It was the pulling the zip down that was the pain bit. Anyone else Zippadisdooda. That reminds me, how do you circumcise a whale? You send down fourskin divers.
When I need cheering up I put on Bottom. Rough day at work, then I see this and it's cheered me up. Bottom is my happy place. Thanks for this. One of my favourite episodes. Eddie: "What you think that's gonna withstand a 20 megaton nuclear blast?!" Richie: "Well you'll be sleeping in it tonight so we'll find out won't we?!" Hilarious! As Richie would say, Enough to make you fill your trousers with whiff juice and blow your trousers up in merriment!
I love this episode of Bottom. Richie and Eddie going camping in Wimbledon Common is the funniest episode. Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson at their hilarious best. 3:314:154:345:355:3610:00 and 10:51 LOL.
You should watch an episode of the Wombles to familiarise yourself, they are not long... In reality (well fiction) the Wombles were nice and friendly, they kept the countryside clean and tidy...
I really enjoy your reactions but why are your recent videos looking so weird? Is youtube really cracking down so hard that you have to go to such extremes for avoiding copyright claims?
Bottom is my favourite comedy. Rick mayall and Adrian Edmondson best duos ever for me. Im looking forward to your reaction now.
Love bottom used to watch it every Friday night when I was a kid in the 90s

Rick Mayall....RIP....so bad he's gone. A true genius in comedy. His role as Lord Flashheart: epic!!!
This is childhood right here
I really can’t wait until you get to the live shows. They’re phenomenal!
Bottom is Tom and Jerry for adults or live action Ren and Stimpy
LOL so true!!!
Nah it’s more of an X rated Laurel and Hardy.
Used to sneakily watch Bottom when I was young in my bedroom, hoping my mum wouldn't come up stairs and catch me watching it! 😂 😂
LOL that is hilarious!
I actually used to watch it with my parents 😂
@@heather.0476 same. Now I re watch it, I cannot believe my mum let us watch this that young 🤣
You naughty boy.
The childhood show mentioned was "TheWombles", (loosely) based on hedgehogs that lived on Wimbledon common.
e.g. The Wombles - S01E01: ua-cam.com/video/21m_XC4VYXs/v-deo.html
Awesome man I couldn't think of it lol
Yes they made use of trash like paper, cups and tins n shit.
The wombles terrified me as a kid, voices, no mouths, just eyes ( kept thinking they were real and would jump out of the screen and eat me ).
Rest in peace rick mayall

Sorry to hear that Jenna.
I do think though that this series was his low.
@@richardraymond878 this is what Ade said about him when Rik died
@@richardraymond878 LOL, not her words, Ade's!
When I was a teen bottom was must view tv. If you enjoy this check out the dangerous brothers and 'filthy rich and cat flap' by the same guys
Filthy rich & cat flap was terrible.
Bottom one of the best sitcoms ever, I remember watching it way back in the 90s when I was in high school.

This is basically live action Tom and Jerry.
On coke
This is brilliant. My fave episode is when they are in the pub trying to chat up girls. Classic
What a smashing blouse you have on...
In the USA, people taking a sh!t in the dressing rooms is a regular thing???...HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I Love Bottom But S,Out Is By Far My Favourite Episode Ever .
This has to be one of my favorites. The blow pipe scene is brilliant.

bottom the film is awesome guest house paridiso
Not as good as the TV series, but still well worth watching.

Yes, the high-profile 1992 murder of Rachel Nickell delayed it.

'The League of Gentlemen' or 'Inside no.9' would probably be a good series to do too.

This most be my favourite one from Bottom. Have you done any of ‘the young ones’ yet?
I haven't check that out yet bud I do have it on my list!
The young ones was funny, but it hasn’t dated well.
The new statesman was the best Rik Mayall comedy.
need to check out the live shows
Struggling to watch it as it’s faded
Not sure if Americans get the spunk slang
Probably the best episode
My favourite episode
Drop dead Fred needs to be on one of your lists josh
And the new statesman
Great ep half a bottle of scotch and chocolate biscuits easy last a week in the woods haha and random question can you eat a hedgehog
WOMBLES aaarrrggghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bottom was a brilliant series, the one with the video, or the burglars are well worth a watch.
my fav episode
Did you watch the tax man episode yet. I died in 1994 watching that for the first time
Please react to Bottom Live 3: Hooligan's Island
Thank you
if you enjoy the TV show, the live shows are even better. Also, watch out for Wombles.
hi jst in case you didnt get chance to look up wombles were on wimbledon common picking up rubbish 1970's childrens tv
FYI wombles
Thanks bud!
This is one of the best bottom episodes.
The third series isn’t so funny as the first two. Although the Halloween episode was classic.
You should check out the film that they did guest house paradise.very good.

Too short & cut very badly. 😢
Come in man, far too long without Extras and Fawlty Towers. Season 2 of both were much better than the first.
Wombles...
All the old comedies are the best, cant stand the unfunny pc shite of today. You should check out Men Behaving Badly another U.K gem from the 90s.
Tbh forst 2 series were great series 3 was bad
He doesn't get the humour.
Sure he does. Just not some of the British cultural references.
Is that Uncle phil?
