Thanks for the video. the issue I seem to have is that my audio track I record, vocals or acoustic guitar or on beat, on the lines but as soon as I stop recording the audio track jumps out of time. I have a focusrite 2i2 3rd gen and on a windows laptop. Not sure if ypu have a solution for this. Thanks
This has to do with latency. Normally when you record audio what you hear while recording is late getting to the computer. Check the settings of your Latency (Buffer Size) under Edit / Preferences / Audio Drivers Move the latency to the lowest you can I would say 128 or 256. This will allow you to get closer to zero latency.
Great videos. I have a problem with VST plugins and beginning to get desperate. I do everything that I have seen in videos how to add VST plugin instruments, but what ever I do and no matter how much I scan the plugin folders that I know the VSTs is, they dont show up under instruments in Cakewalk by BandLab :( Also some of the options for exsample "Manual scan" does not allow me to click on. I have tryed all other scan options. Is there a form to reset the whole Cakewalk by BandLab incase some strange thing have happened to it?
Thanks for the comment! I’m sorry you are having issues. Could you give me an example of a virtual instrument you are trying g to locate and use in Cakewalk? Sometimes VST plugins have to be installed and other times they have to be copied to specific folders that Cakewalk searches for. Of course you add other folders manually in Cakewalk Plug In manager. Also some plugins may be disabled. I would start off simple. Restart computer first then open Cakewalk. If you still cant’t open instruments then I suggest reinstalling Cakewalk. Let me know if this helps at all. If not I will send some other options over.
@@JustDaNorm Thank you for your answer 🙂 The VST's Im trying to use are Cherry Audio DCO-106 and Cherry Audio Eight Voice. I bought those cheap ones for testing LOL. Until now I always have used an Roland XV-3080 connected via midi mate and manually composed my music using piano roll in the Sonar 7. A lot of work but the only way sins I'm not a keyboardplayer. But now I wanted for the first time to try out VST sounds using a M-Audio midikeyboard. Now that I have almost given up VST, I tryed to record using my XV-3080 togeher with the MIDI keyboard but now the problem is that if I select two or more midi tracks in CakeWalk with differents instruments, it only gives me one instrument with playback. So if I for example select a string on track one and bass on track two, it will only playback one of the instruments on all the track. for example bass on the second witch I selected but also bass on the first track the are strings, will also only have bass even if it shows "strings". The 3rd problem is the same that you showed in your other video about error message when trying to record a audio track. I have tryed all the solutions found in your great videos, so I gues I have to find all the files, include hidden files for Sonar and Cakewalk and delete everything for so to reinstall it. (sorry for my english) And again, thank you very much for trying to help me :)
Nothing wrong with using piano roll. Do what works best for you. When dealing with Midi Data. I suggest creating multiple Instrument tracks with your Cherry VST. Then each track will have its only assignment of the VST. If you only want to use one VST instrument track but have multiple midi tracks assigned then you have to go to each track and change the midi channel. Otherwise you will always hear only one sound playing multiple tracks. Here is a video for beginners focusing on Midi it may help. ua-cam.com/video/h3zGtmbCjAc/v-deo.htmlsi=AyiaHV7fGPVgaFAm As for as recording audio. Are you using an audio interface? If not then you will have to make sure the driver type is set to Wasapi. When you create audio track make sure it’s enabled and input is setup to interface or internal sound card.
@@JustDaNorm This is my setup (I have given up using VST cause the program will not find it even if i scan the correct folders after reinstalling everything) So Im now trying to record "live" with my Midi keyboard through my computer that gives signals through a USB midi mate to my old XV-3080. The signals are ok. But like I wrote, I can only hear one instrument even if I select others and direct the midi channels with different numbers from 1 and up. Then I use the audio signals from headphone out from XV-3080 and into my Zoom R16 and from that into line in on my computer again. When I before was using Sonar 7 it worked ok but Sonar 7 many times had problems with lagging when playback for some reason. So now I wanted to try Cakewalk Bandlab. I also had the same problem with VST in Sonar 7. I wanted to sell my XV-3080 and instead but Roland Cloud JV1080 VST, but that is not an option now... But thank you very much for trying to help me...guess im too old for the music dream now anyway LOL
