ABOUT THE CHANNEL:
My name’s Jason R. and this channel is where I create quality tech and lifestyle videos. I’ve been at this for years and have built an audience I’m extremely grateful for, in addition to developing a style that’s unique and to the point. I make reviews, tech roundups, tutorials, educational videos, and vlogs, and across all these sub-genres, I try my best to make the videos aesthetic, calming, and succinct.
I’m also a full-time student studying mechanical engineering, so I understand I have limitations on both the financial and time management sides. Regardless, I do my absolute best with what I’ve got (which is why budget tech is a big chunk of my content, and why you can trust I approach evaluating it from an organic perspective). But I do strive to put together top-notch content from where I’m at in the hopes you’ll join my journey and help this project branch out :)
Not a perfect-sounding vocal on the out end (still a bit more sibilance than I'd like), but definitely improvement over the last chain. Also, a lot of that improvement was made possible by some dope mixing guides by Sage Audio. Check em out: ua-cam.com/users/SageAudio
how long did it take to install cakewalk?
Man that was amazing bro hope ur music's become hit don't forget us when u become famous 😅😅
How did you do those reverbs?
i decided i want to learn how to mix & make my own music. so i downloaded cake walk, watched your how to install plug-ins videos. i checked out sage, there’s a bunch of videos. which would you recommend a total beginner (like myself) should watch ? to get started ?
Let’s go man waiting for this just one problem I don’t really know how to use cake walk period Lol
Let's goooo been waiting for this
I know I’ve commented twice already, BUT PLZ MORE MUSIC CONTENT!! I don’t care if it’s about mixing, I just need more of your music and bts of making it.
Will do!
I'm a fan - new subscriber here and learning. Thanks for your content!
Dope! Cakewalk fan here, definitely learned something😄
Nice, glad to hear that!

You're goated

i'll try this cakewalk, thank god for your guide
hey Jason big fan of your videos and songs ,your audacity tutorial was really helpful. could you please make a video about how to download band lab with all the stock plugin's. i have downloaded the software but i don't have all the plugins. could you please help @jason
Can you do a plug in tutorial like you did with audacity. Dope content btw 🔥
I'll cover installing plugins in Cakewalk soon!
i have tdr nova but how do i insert it in?
You’ve probably been asked this already, but which DAW do your prefer Audacity & Cakewalk and also why?
bro ur vocal mixing videos are awsm keep making music videos bts
Thank you & will do!
@@jasonrtech bro u got mail ?
@@prodbyaye8751 You asking for my email? If so it's in my channel description 👍🏼
I’m broke so I want something for music but also sound design for videos. Like walking on gravel and rain and what not. Would this program be good for sound design too? I’ll give it a shot either way since I can’t really buy anything lmao. I’m just making a videos for someone for secret Santa (refer back to being broke) and I want to basically redo all the sounds. Thanks for the tutorials though man
How did you get the reverb on both of them not to make the track quite? and do you use these setting for the adlibs?
That's because I applied my reverb to a bus, so you get the original vocal plain plus the reverb. Try bringing the dry level on your reverb back to 0 dB for a quick fix. Also I typically use the same settings for ad-libs, just at lower final volumes 👍🏼
@@jasonrtechHow Much You'll Charge Me To Mix 1 Song????
Yoo, can you do a video on how to mix vocals into a 2 track beat on cakewalk.. that would be very helpfull
What do you mean by two track beat, like stereo? If so that’s what I was doing in this video.
@@jasonrtech Nah bro, a 2 Track Mix is mixing your vocals to sit in the mix of a beat you get off UA-cam. Ideally, when mixing you want to have all the stems at your disposal, but that hardly happens. So the 2 tracks comes in with your UA-cam beat. Since the beats are usually maxed on limiters you have to cut through the mix using Transients and Midside Processors. Thats what he means. He wants a tutorial on how to do that.
@@marleeblaze9106 exactly, preciate it bro.
Your good at mixing 🔥 im inversting in a home studio.. can i get a sound like this with free plugins
Definitely! Check out MAutoPitch as an alternative to Auto-Tune 👍🏼
@@jasonrtech Thanks Bro 💯
YO BRO U NEED TO DO A VERY DETAILED VIDEO ABOUT EQ PLEASE I JUST WANT TO MAKE A GOOD SONG WITHOUT EVERYTHING MESSING UP
Sup Jason!
We add the plugins just like we did in Audacity?
Cakewalk is actually a lot easier with plugins than Audacity. Just look up the Cakewalk plugins folder, install to that folder, and Cakewalk will automatically enable them the next time you reopen it.
In cake my vocals are off beat how do I get my vocals back on beat?
Jason presets?
Yo plz tell me where you buy your instrumentals. And where I could get some for free for profit.
This one was from YoungTaylor. 【UNLUCKY】ヌ竹演, prod. pink, and prod. Tofito are three free for profit producers I used to go to.
Do you think that a you wa shock plugin is still a good plugin to use?
There are definitely better plugins to use than that. Fresh air or bpb Saturator are good alternatives because you can even out the sound better.
Hey Jason, Can these plugins be used in audacity too?
Yes, with the exception of VX-64 and Auto-Tune 👍🏼
And the sonitus gate
@@over1oad336 Correct, that's a stock Cakewalk plugin 👍🏼
Me watching this even though the cakewalk install takes forever
Lol shouldn't take too long.
@@jasonrtech funny thing this a common problem but i just needed to update my laptop
Bro you're using wrong compressior, I mean the one you using is for mastering not the best for Vocals. You can use a free Compressior plugin called TDR Molot.
And I've noticed you still using 32bit plug-ins which idk if it's bad but cakewalk does support
VST3 64bit format for plug-ins which runs smoothly & you might notice a boost in audio quality a little.
I appreciate the recommendation with Molot, as Kotelnikov does appear to be for mastering... Also, I don't think using 32-bit affects sonic quality, but I'll start migrating to 64 for better performance. Lmk if you find anything else out you think I should know 👍🏼
Brother there ware a good couple of things bugging me, let's start with
Your Fx chain. Hear's what I think would definitely work better.
Auto-tune Artist
Subtractive EQ
Fresh Air
TDR vos SlikEQ
Compression (Serial compression) -6db gain reduction
Use Saturation (Try Saturation knob plugin
Keep the Saturation Type to "Keep Lows" for that Rich gritty Saturation & when you done click on "SET" button under Gain Diff meter it will automatically gain stage Saturation level for you)
Deesser (Era 5) / VX-64 Vocal Strip (for Deessing)
All those vocal plugins your using (etc nova) I haven't got them on cakewalk, even after I update it, where can I get them from please, I'm desperate 🙏🙏🙏
You gotta install them. This should help: ua-cam.com/video/GFilDyaT6WY/v-deo.html 👍🏼
@@jasonrtech excellent 🙏
When I copy ur reverb settings, my vocals become really quiet and echoey, do you know why?
That's because I applied my reverb to a bus, so you get the original vocal plain plus the reverb. Try bringing the dry level on your reverb back to 0 dB for a quick fix 👍🏼
@@jasonrtech thx but wdym u applied it to a bus?
@@flippy3098 I think this video will help bro check it out!

Most people know more about auto tune then anything else 😂. Although it's indeed misunderstood. Anyways, I'm waiting for that song to be released 😘
Appreciated! I would disagree though, you'd be amazed at the range of (sometimes impossible) things people think Auto-Tune can do.
@@jasonrtech true!
People think all you need to be an artist is autotune… It’s kinda stupid…
No preset?
Mans put the retune speed all the way to zero and if didn’t even sound that tuned! Just shows autotune does NOT fix everything…
☝🏼 He knows lol
The V8 link isn’t accessible.
Fixed 👍🏼
If you looking for features for your album I’m out there…
That into beat was too short ✌️✌️
hey guess what
Yeah?
@@jasonrtech chicken butt
@@buuson_ You ain’t have to get so political.
Was expecting singing, got bad nursery rhymes.
It is free right
Cakewalk is completely free. Some 3rd party plugins will cost you though.
Yeah got it thank you
I keep getting distracted by the fact that if you cant write, than why rap?
Bro chill this is a mixing tutorial.
