I'm trying to learn/understand the relationship between input gain and the post fader gain. I know the input gain is acting first in the chain and the post fader is after eq, compression, fx, etc. Just not sure when and how much to use one or the other or both. Thanks.

I have an HP Laptop and a Samson Meteor Microphone USB. I use cakewalk and no sound comes out when I record. I tried this method of fixing the audio but nothing works, anything else I could do?

I got this a few days ago. Paid $200 for the first year of a two-year rent-to-own subscription. I plan to have some fun with some spoof songs, where I use the stem separator to remove the vocal and replace the lyrics with my own funny ones. But my main use will be to work out the lyrics to my own original songs, in some cases to replace the AI vocal with my own voice. I also I’m looking forward to trying out the custom voice feature, where I can use some samples of my own voice to create a model that sounds like me, but perhaps can sing a little better (stronger, in tune, and wider pitch range). However, I don’t expect this to work very well. I notice that the audio to MIDI feature doesn’t sound very good in several of the examples I’ve heard, perhaps because it works TOO well. It seems to copy every nuance of a bad performance, so I plan to train the voice model on my audio samples, but use the MIDI to audio to create the vocal. If this does not produce very good results, I can always use one of the 80+ voice models included with ACE.

We use this as our live monitor mixer plus we run everything thru splitters so we can record our shows into multitracks and at the same time have 3 different mimonitor mixes

JustDaNorm, Your channel is great. I have a question. I have my old audio of my guitar from the 1970's. It was originally recorded on a real to real. Then this same audio was recorded to an 8-track tape. After that this recording went to a cassette tape. And then to a .wav on a DVD. It has a lot of bass sound in the background plus a lot of heavy hiss and noise in the background. Is there a way in Cakewalk that this might be cleaned up to try and get that original sound? Maybe you can make a step by step video with the sonatus gate in Cakewalk showing this? Thank you so much.

Ace studio is not very good. The audio to midi function is terrible and the interface is useless. It's not good value for money. I'm glad they offer a money back guarantee. I'll be getting mine back.

Hey man I have a zoom r20 using cakewalk. I can hear just fine over my headphones but not the speakers. Speakers and headphones are connected to the r20. Any ideas ?

I am trying my best to make this work, but there isn’t enough content available to teach me how to create realistic-sounding voices. I’m starting from scratch, and when I produce the voices, they don’t sound authentic. However, when I use a template and listen to it, the difference is astonishing. I think the issue might be user error, but I don’t know much about making music or producing high-quality, realistic voices like those in the templates you provide. Do you have any additional resources or suggestions?

I have a Roland 06 and want to record the voices in the keyboard. I can hear my keyboard voices in Cakewalk, but I am not able to record them. What’s weird is Cakewalk isn’t recognizing my interface device in Preferences but I still hear the audio from my keyboard. Any advice?

Help please! Im a beginner using Cakewalk. I just recorded my first record; two vocals using Microphone on "Basic". Right off the bat the playback has my tempo like at double fast, and the pitch is so high it makes me sound like a munchkin from the lollipop guild. How can I fix this to be in "real time" and the "correct/normal" pitch? I dont know what to do, and I would rather get to hearing myself sing rather than the sound of the helium filled flying munchkin that I am singing elegantly.

staying with cakewalk by bandlab as long as they only offer it. Would go with sonar if it was not subscription only and those with any others. I'll pay a reasonable price for a daw but no subscriptions.
