Eddie Albert was one of the most gifted actors. He essentially plays the straight man to every single other person on this show and just shines in that role.
@@lilajagears8317 both shows were not a top ten show by the time they were canceled. don’t spread misinformation. Beverly Hillbillies was ranked 33rd and Green Acres was ranked 34th in the 1970-71 season.
@@markjackson6431 Did you actually say "dont spread misinformation?". Maybe you should take a xanax and calm down ( the Beverly Hillbillies according to the Nielson ratings) was the 9th most watched show of the 1970/71 season.
@@lilajagears8317 yeah it was no where near the top my guy. maybe the 9th most on CBS. but it was not in the top 30 across all 3 networks. again you’re spreading misinformation
@@markjackson6431 You have way too much time on your hands. You sound like a loony leftist who calls anyone they disagree with of "spreading false information" even when the facts say otherwise.
How could the actors keep from cracking up during filming? Kimball and Ziffel were the funniest, but they all had a different, whacky style that fit together. And Haney- oh man.
That to me was the funniest part of the show, when they would play "Yankee Doodle" behind Oliver's pompous pontificating. Reminds me of Jack Webb and Adam West.
"Why the forces of crime and evil would have run rampant over the countryside..." That's exactly what is going on today. I want to go live in Hooterville.
The first few times Oliver delivered his soapbox speech, they were not accompanied by fife. The speech skit 'evolved' and music was an added enhancement. the fife and drum play Yankee Doodle.
The expressions on the faces of those listening to. Oliver's speeches are hilarious.
Very clever and fun show to watch. I love Green Acres so much.

I liked when they started adding the fife music and someone would comment on it.
A credit to those writers , thanks , it make me laugh every time when I. Watch it.
Its farmers like Oliver that make country living fun thanks for posting these wonderful comedians.
One of the great shows CBS canned during its "rural purge".
This and the Beverly Hillbillies were both in the top ten in the ratings at the time.

That’s like a locker room speech. Dude just hyped me the fuck up!
Arnold turned the TV down, but then he gave Mr. Douglas a dirty look. The consumate actor.

Agreed so much
I LOVE Mr. Kimball.....totally inept, but I love him, great actors on this show...
I love mr kimball.... Well not "love" but he is funny
LOTS of editing
Funniest line from the series. Haney explaining the 21 gun salute the town was giving Lisa's mother. See it: "Lisa's Mudder Comes for a Visit"
It says "error occurred" and the video can't be played. It must have been installed by the Monroe Brothers!

Yeah, I am a city folk... it's like that. Eddie Albert is a fantastic actor
I liked the fife.
Where are the fifes in the first segment!

the fife and drum play Yankee Doodle.
3:15 Glad they recognized back then the danger of the wild savage Indians to the American settlers.
Plag To 4 or 6
LOVE EDDIE ALBERT TO DEATH
Bs! They ignore this a few episodes further
Government bureaucrats and the FBI. Who was right?!
