In Mystery Booster 2, one of the playtest cards refrences Drake Stone, named 'Stone Drake'. It's two abilities upon entering are Distract and Enthrall, both being one for one to cards made for the film. The Stone Drake is even Blue/Black color wise, matching it's namesake's fictional Planeswalker card.
With stuff like the hot pocket and ihop "collab" I was always surprised they never did anything like that sooner. Like back in the day, I remember seeing pokemon soup, pokemon blankets, pokemon mcdonalds toys. So I don't see why magic couldn't get have some weird grocery store collab
If you don't count alpha flavor text and Arabian Nights (especially City in a Bottle being a Sandman reference), the first crossover would have been Nalathni Dragon (as a reference to Dragonriders of Pern). Library of Leng is also a reference to Lovecraft, and Frankenstein's Monster to Frankenstein. Albert Einstein also appears on Presence of the Master in Legends. Oh, and Portal Three Kingdoms is also based on a novel (and, at this point, cultural cross-franchise). There's also quite a few random video game references in Odyssey block (Mortal Combat, Need for Speed, etc...), but those are just veiled references.
Another odd collab that appeared relatively recently was the one with Gong Cha, a boba tea chain store that started in Taiwan. For the release of Dominaria United a couple of years back, the Australian branches of Gong Cha did a promo where they had boba tea flavors themed after characters like Ajani, Jaya and Liliana. I'm personally not crazy about boba myself, but I have a friend of mine who loves it and lamented not being able to get it because we live in New Zealand.
MTG crossover with Lego. Lego has D&D; now Magic will have a Bloomburrow style set where characters are minifigures in the Lego multiverse. All Lego cards have "bulid" mechanic where they can combine like mutate and enchantment creatures. A deconstruct mechanic sacrificing creatures to give brick counters that can be used for +1+1 counters or mana to cast spells. Lego already has tons of legendary characters that could be made into cards. The basic setting is Lego city but there will be precon Commander decks of Lego Space, Castle, Ninjago some other popular series. Some reference cards to technic sets like Bionicle and mini dolls sets Friends and Bellville. The potential for easter eggs is unlimited.
I don't think this would ever actually happen because magic the gathering is not kid friendly enough. Lego doesn't mind a little fantasy violence but they don't like blood and gore and they don't allow guns for the most part. The huge difference in art style is a little bit of a challenge and I don't think you'd ever want to change the Lego art style because whenever you do it looks terrible . A universe is beyond would make more sense than actual. I probably wouldn't want it on shelves next to Pokemon cards because I don't think that they want to confuse little kids. Unless they leaned into the kid friendly elements. You did a whole Lego set with a beginner mindset for the younger player. Turn the basement comes its own thing like a magic the gathering Little League. Compounding the feeling of separation from the whole game that the art style would already have created. And lastly the Lego building mechanic would logically only work with other Lego cards creating a sliver type of situation. But that would also make it hard to use them with other decks separating it even more.
Enough with everything being put in magic, I want magic to be put to into everything. My shows, movies, videos games, music. Give me yummy yummy magic lore. Let magic be in all other ips out wards
The game can keep going, but in doing so it loses what made so many fall in love with it I'm sure those new players seeing their favorite characters are happy But I'm not gonna stick around for a game that's more focused on crossover city vs it's old lore and art
Omg! It's a baby spice8rack. ❤

Don't insult him like that.
@@ghost_fueled_scarecrow how is that an insalt
@ghost_fueled_scarecrow idk who you think I'm insulting but I promise you're wrong
Which one are we insulting? They're both cool.

Oh wow that's awesome! I didn't know that

I would definetly grab magic hot pockets if I saw them on the shelf
Average gameplay talk: "I attack with Hatsune Miku, Frodo, and Optimus Prime before activating my One Ring"
You are unfunny kid
in response I use use V.A.T.S. to destroy Hatsune Miku and Frodo and Crew the Fortnite Battlebus with Rick Grimes to block Optimus Prime.
@@thelittlemouseonfent as garfield intended
by 2025 i'll have to sacrifice spiderman to greater good in order to draw into cloud strife.
Mild8Rack, great video btw
Yknow what, I'll take it! :)
You forgot about Chandra’s goggles and Garruk’s helmet in Team Fortress 2
Someone told me about those 2 hours after the video went up 😂 Missed opportunity
Came here to say this
As a nine-year-old at the time, yes. Yes I LOVED the sorcerer's apprentice and got hype when I saw Magic as part of the set/props
That's awesome :))
This man really said "I was 11 when the MTG x Minecraft crossover was announced". Holy shit my hair is turning grey
@@RoachDoggggJR LOL I'm so sorry

Omg I remember seeing that on twitter, would've loved to try it
I only know of gongcha because of the recentish FF14 colab
In lost caverns of ixalan we got some cards that reference minecraft one is mineshaft spider and the other is diamond pick-axe that has indestructible
Nice Sim city snes music.
what about the collab with team fortress 2! They put Chandra's goggles in as a cosmetic, and called it the "Planeswalker Goggles"
pretty neat
there was a crossover with smite as well, it's pretty good tbh, playing with bolas or atraxa in a 3d game is certainly a good experience

I've been wanting a lego collab for AGES

I got into magic when it crossed over with Puzzle and Dragons, a mobile gacha game.
I traded one gambling addiciton with another...
LOL I forgot about that one

Minecraft Emrakul is amazing
An absolute national treasure
Spoiler alert: there weren't many until the game jumped the shark
I actually lived the IHop pancakes bit but I got the Ajani ones instead. That was legit part of my introduction to the game
That's absolutely hilarious
Loved the video! Cant wait to see more
Thank you so much ❤️
Not sure if it's worth randomly throwing in after Arabian Nights but you did seemingly miss Portal Three Kingdoms, though it is historical fiction.
It was in the original script but I cut it for pacing
what we truly need is a fortnite crossover, I need to see ajani hit the griddy
YESSSS
A camander back bling with some popular camanders would be an insta buy
Yes yes yes
We need Pinocchio magic cards
That would be awesome, I'd love a disney cartoon collab
"Nestle battlepass" send me

Where is the Magic the Gathering romance manga "Destroy All Humans. They Can't Be Regenerated."?
Awsome video! MTG is GOAT.
Hell yeah it is! Glad you liked it man
Glad I found your. Channel!

Stopped watching after first 10 seconds, nobody's dissing my Jace dakimakura, it's a basic human need
LMAO I respect that, sorry for hurting the smite community 🙏
6:58 I'm concerned about mechanic overload. There's too many keywords smh
What about the nurf gun.
