The nerd in me can't help but say that it's because each color is the source for a category of magic, not just a single type. For instance, blue mana is used for water magic, but also for wind, mind, and time magic. Red is fire, but also electricity and kinetic energy.

Water is just not as cool to say than blue way more clunky and 2 syllables

One of my favorite decks is my silver-border card only commander deck headed by Urza, Headmaster. I was so disappointed when Unfinity did away with silver borders, so much so that I got a silver sharpie and drew my own silver borders on the cards I used from that set.

I have a 5 color planeswalker deck and there are a few cards I got proxied that are heroes of the realm exclusive walkers like Estrid friend to all, svega the unconventional, chandra gremlin wrangler and inzerva master of insights been wanting to throw them in for awhile now and the hero walker cards they are actually well balanced and dont really do that much crazy stuff plus it be nice to have a secondary commander thats a 5 color walker to swap between Jared Carthelion.

I am just saying, that Mc donalds should have a collaboration with Magic.

Honestly, yu-gi-oh was a way better ad for magic than anything wotc has come up with. Playing magic and visiting different magic related events and locations has been the closest my life has ever been to an anime

The game can keep going, but in doing so it loses what made so many fall in love with it I'm sure those new players seeing their favorite characters are happy But I'm not gonna stick around for a game that's more focused on crossover city vs it's old lore and art
