It’s pronounced “Falasteen” in Arabic and “Palest-eye-n” in English. Thanks for reacting and I agree, you should watch the video because it’s very powerful along with the words. It’s hopeful and tragic at the same time.
@@black_forest_ Yes, but also because that's the original name the greek called Philistines the people who lived there (and also the land), and "Ph" is pronounced like the F sound, so the "Falasteen" pronunciation is how it was pronounced for centuries it seems !! I think that it's the British who changed the pronunciation to the P sound !! But anyway different languages have different pronunciations of the country, (like it's the case with every other country) !!
the part about how every Palestinian holds a key is literal. many palestinian families still hold onto the keys of the original houses they were kicked out of 76 years ago during the nakba in the hopes that they will return one day.
My account is flagged for supporting dangerous individuals because I am posting pro Palestinian content (and I am a Palestian) so I guess they are assuming I am a dangerous individual lol 😂
I’m surprised my account isn’t. Might be because I haven’t posted something as I should but my comments on videos about this issue should. I compare Hamas to our founding fathers here in the U.S. In which they are more alike than Israel ever being like the modern U.S. Any nation that’s fought for independence within the last 100 years should be on the Palestinian side. Which is why you see Ireland riding as hard as they are for Palestine, they are not far removed from their own independence fight. Gaddafi was a very loud voice for Palestine which painted a target on his back along with many other things (another tangent I’ll refrain from). Or why South Africa calls Palestine an apartheid state because they’re not far removed from their apartheid. If slavery from before the 13th amendment “abolished” slavery (it never did, read it and then think about why the South passed laws like the Jim Crow laws and many others that imprisoned black people or stole their vote after arrest) was around within the last 100 years, guaranteed more here in the U.S would be on the Palestinian side. If our founding fathers were alive, they would definitely be on the side fighting for independence by any means necessary as they did. Another tangent, the man who wrote the first book about Zionism openly advocated for what we call today as “terrorism” so they could have Israel. When that land was British mandated Palestine, Jews at the time would use terrorism against the British because they felt they weren’t getting enough land from the British.
I am so grateful that Macklemore is using his platform like this. Grateful his first song awakened you my friend. May we continue to awaken the masses 💜🫂
Anees is the first voice you hear on the track. He recently released a song called Kiss My Wounds. It is phenomenal and moving. Definitely worth a reaction
At the end you hope no one else gets hurt, but instead Itsnotreal has moved their target to Lebanon which is meant to be part of their plan... it was NEVER about the hostages. All eyes on Lebanon!
Thanks for sharing your reaction... The algorithm can surpress us, but the voice will continue and eventually reach anyway. Let's continue! Like share comment on reactions to this song! Educating more people about the issue. Praying for the brothers and sisters there ❤️🤍💚🖤🤲
About the "every Palestinian holds a key" - a key is a common symbol of the Palestinian desire to return after having been driven from their land because in the Nakbah people often fled their land because of the fear of violence, while fully expecting to go back once things calmed down. So they took their house keys with them. Since they havent been able to return for the last 75 years many families still have those keys (to houses that likely dont even exist anymore) as a symbol of how they didnt leave permanently or willingly.
0:45 I had personally been on leftist UA-cam for a while and I knew that Israel was the bad guys immediately but I didn't have an indepth understanding orf the situation or have it as a big personal deal to me until 7 months ago when the UA-camr Shaun made an incredible video on it. Free Palestine.
Your reaction is my reaction too. This song was art in a time of tragedy. Full of so much emotion! I was in tears and in chills most of the song and then by the end of it, I was in rage because of the devilish systems that keep the evil going! Power to the People ✊️ free Palestine 🇵🇸🕊 and free Sudan 🇸🇸 free the Republic of Congo 🇨🇩 and ALL PEOPLE from the wicked evil powers ✊️ And may God bless you!!
Thank you for reacting to this. And i agree with other comments, the video to this song is extremely powerful, i cried like a baby, because it perfectly depicts what this song is about "they can bury us, but they'll find out we are seeds". just thinking of it i get teary eyed and goosebumps 💔♥️ and i'm commenting to help you with the al-go ♥️
You need to look at what Nelson Mandela and the leaders of the Civil Rights Movement in the US, Cat Stevens, and Muhammad Ali said about Palestine. There's a long history of linking Black Rights and Palestinian Liberation.
Do you another review with the Macklemore's video! It was truely an event that brought together everyone uniting us all for Justice! thank you for this awesome review!
So if I’m not allowed to say from the river to the sea then from the rind to the seed! Free Palestine! This song makes me cry, gives me chills, hope, sadness. Damn!
Isn't it amazing that Macklemore was (mostly) celebrated for releasing a song dedicated to LGBT people, but a song protesting an ongoing Holocaust gets him cancelled... What a world.
The most frustrating part for us as Americans is that we have funded this genocide, it's US weapons and dollars that enabled all of this. We are complicit.
It is the 2nd way to say Palestine. It is pronounced Palestein. In Arabic it is pronounced Falasteen. we actually do not even have the P noise in the Arabic alphabet. It was the original Phillistines of the land, the indigenous people, the colonizers chose Palestine.
ngl I find the first part a bit "overproduced"? Like a mash-up of two different songs, too "full"? Anyways, with this one its more about the meaning anyways.
And Israel is already moving on Lebanon. And it's a genocide, there's no such thing as an "ethnic cleansing" it's just a prettied up term that people feel more comfortable with, it's a genocide. Genocide is illegal but the UN doesn't have to do shit (when have they ever done shit?) Unless it's LABELED a genocide. Calling it anything else is a disservice and dangerous.

yep and the way he says it sounds like the french pronunciation :) ("palesteen")
@@neslou8449 I think ishowspeed says it like thay as well
Because there is no actual P sound in their language like it sounds in english

As far as I know, "Falastin" is the nearest word to the original, "Falasteen" is also english variation of it.

Watch the video clip it is much better and it has English subtitles for the Arabic part and thank you man ❤❤
At the end you hope no one else gets hurt, but instead Itsnotreal has moved their target to Lebanon which is meant to be part of their plan... it was NEVER about the hostages. All eyes on Lebanon!
From the beginning it was about genocide and land grabbing. And people saying it was "defense" knew damn well from the jump or were ignorant af
thank you for sharing news my cousins have passed and it has been really hard
please pinnnn
Listen to it with the video and you'll cry like a baby. I never cry and it broke me while I was at work when it came out.
It’s a genocide please don’t call it a situation that minimizes what’s being done when we need to be blunt about it
I feel like he would. BUT UNFORTUNATELY UA-cam fuckin monetize the truth smh

That "They can bury us but they will find out we are seeds" is such a powerful line!

I think Palestine is actually pronounced Philistine. But I’m not sure the guy under me got it right ❤❤
you are correct , in Arabic we pronounce it Philistine

There are a few different pronunciations: Filastin, Falasteen, and Palestine. All are correct.
It is the 2nd way to say Palestine. It is pronounced Palestein. In Arabic it is pronounced Falasteen. we actually do not even have the P noise in the Arabic alphabet. It was the original Phillistines of the land, the indigenous people, the colonizers chose Palestine.
