I just started training 2 colleagues and we were JUST about to start targeting this week. I really dislike the updated targeting but now I can see why it was changed: to allow for this! Thank-you Jeff! You saved tens of thousands of hours of work across all of us C3d users!
S tier addition! Have been doing this worfklow for the past years with multiple custom SA's and multiple targeting in the drawing. This is a welcome update, and thanks Jeff for making this happen.
This will come so in handy when creating corridors for trenching! When you get in to a bend / corner I always create new targetlines with a transition and so on to create a wider trench for a bend. Now it will be way easier! Same goes for weldingpits with wierd transitions / clean ups. Next step will be to get Dynamo doing this. Thank you Sir.
As always, nice work Jeff! One remark though on the feature itself. Beside the fact that it's very easy to do targetting with subassemblies that don't support targetting initialy, offset targets created this way, will create less accurate geometry in terms of widths of curbs, sidewalks,... at the transition itself. This because of the fact that assemblies are always inserted orthogonally on the baseline. So for tapers with fairly large widening at a short distance, it will create e.g. curbs with wrong widths. For transition in elevation on the other hand, it's very usefull...
THANK YOU!!! I have been using a transform generator subassembly to calculate a transition variable but that always clogged up my list of assemblies as I had to create one for each transition. This looks much easier to use.
Thanks Jeff, I have been an active learner since 2016 and thanks for all the tips in these amazing videos. If you don't mind, you can share the dwg so that I can also practice😅 because I am a bit interested in how build your styles, Assemblies, end conditions...
Thanks Jeff you are CAD Wizard..... Autodesk should make corridors simpler and packaged towards common uses and workflows.... Not more complicated and dissociated with Inception style calibrations...
Hey Jeff, thanks for this video! For some reason, when I edit the lane width, my curb subassembly doesn't like it. The lane transitions just fine, but the curb "chops up" and is ragged along the transition taper. Do you know why it does this?
God Bless you always! Jeff, is it posible to model a cross slope transition on straight road corridor (no curves) to be more specific, inverting the cross slope?
Hi Jeff! Is there a way to configure the taper lane with an opposing slope? For instance, main carriage exhibits a negative slope (-), while extending the widening road with a positive slope (+). Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Jeff! I really appreciate your work! I was wondering if there is an option to change bay taper transition formula to act more like fillet with defined radius?
Could this be used to transition the tie-back slope to the target like a right of way? For instance, station 0+00-3+00 I need a 3:1 back slope, but from 4+00 to 9+00 a 6:1 would be better. The transition would obviously need to be from 3+00 to Station 4+00. This feature seems a long time coming. The previous method involved voodoo.
Hi Jeff. Can we give transition for both width and height at the same time. Here is the situation, where a rolled kerb of 400mm width and 200mm height to be transited to flush kerb(which is 100mm width)
After I apply the transition following the steps shown in the video, the contours along the curb at the lane transition look a bit funny and not smooth. Is there a way to smoothen the curb & gutter contour/tin? Thanks in advance.
This is an extremely useful tool to speed up workflow, very much appreciate the insight. I wonder if the transition could work with BoC height. If so, this could make modeling driveways much easier versus having to create custom subassemblies or edit elevations via feature lines given municipality standards.
You could do this before learning another trick I learned from Jeff, the number generator assembly part. So if you work at a company that is really slow to upgrade their Autocad version, you can do this instead: ua-cam.com/video/W-f4Ep7TXyE/v-deo.html The only caution on this way, is that it requires anyone using it to have the custom assembly part loaded. So if you are like me, and your boss refuses to load your assembly part, they will get a .NET error.
About freaking time! This should have been around from day 1…
hidden gem here. Thank you for showing this!
Jeff Bartels at it again, best tutorials and cool new feature!

Not only in the US.
I'm a Mauritanian user by the way.

Excellent new feature! Thanks Jeff
Thank you very much Sir Jeff!!! Love this new feature, it will help me a lot with my project having too many transitions.
Excellente contribution, thank you very mucho for sharing Jeff, Greetings from Costa Rica
Sir, Excellent work u have done in this session. Very useful update it will make the work very easy for civil 3d users. Thanks u for sharing.
Wow! That tutorial is just amazing!! Thank you.
Nice work Jeff, very educational video. Thanks.
Great Great Great.....As Always. Thank youuuu

Big thanks grand professeur the biggest one perfecto as every time, this is my big problem with the software thanks again 👍🏾
Great! Thanks sir jeff.
At last this portion is up with 12d model. Nice!
12d Model is still light years ahead for this type of modelling, good to see C3D finally implement this kind of functionality however.
Helpfully again homie!!
Thaks for shearing. It is very useful for us .
Thank you very much! This is extremely helpful!
Thanks for the update jeff😎
that was great thanks, jeff
I need it this so much!
awsome feature.

Nice and detailed, thank you, but so fast! Only after much pausing and rewinding was it possible to follow.
so good!

awesome!

Thank you for the update and the video. Is it possible to make slope transition for corridor where is already set offset target?
Hi Jeff!
I really appreciate your work!

EXCELLENT THANK YOU
Glad you liked it!
please do a video about that 3d viewport you have on the right side, im a student doing a road project and would really help
Thank you sir

Hello, do you know of a way to use this on driveways with rounded transitions?
Is this transition supports from subassembly to another , in case of transitioning curb from upstand to flush for example.
Gah! This exactly what I need, but I am stuck using C3D 2020 for the foreseeable future.
title blocks prepration and insertion
sir jeff, why in my civil 3D, on Corridor tab ribbon there no "edit Transition Corridore", do you know how to fix this problem?
Sir it was a good tutorial for learning sir could you make vidoes on Dynamo how to do that from basic to advance

Hi Julio, Yes, you can use this tool to transition curb heights.
@@JeffBartelsCAD hell yes!!!! 🙌🏻
@@JeffBartelsCAD would of been nice to of shown this, maybe in the near future?, sounds great for handicap crossings.
I need help to set up assembly and corridor on highway, my problem is at chevron flat area.

Help! I dont have corridor transition on my civil 3d!!!
why this not working with my corridor
Please kindly someone tell me the process of changing colour of selected area of drawning in civil 3d.

I activated Civil 3D 2023, but this feature was not activated. Please how to activate it
I have the same issue
