Fito is right, the arrival of Jimmy Vivino is the greatest thing that happened to Canned Heat since years. I hope that his influence will take Canned Heat to levels it has to belong ! Boogie on Fito !

I've been a Canned Heat fan since I picked up my first album of theirs, the "sterno" cover, which I believe was their 1st album. From what I understand it was a remake of an earlier recording that didn't sell very well. I went on, due to their influence on me, to learn many of their songs and had several bands over the years. Always ending the night with "Lets Work Together." Fito and Larry Taylor were the best R&R/Blues rhythm section ever in my opinion. Thanks for bringing us this interview.

yur on it about that rhythmn section ,Every musician in the Heat were special musicians .they have no equal for Driving Boogie Blues /psychedelic . in my ears .

I did spend five years in home studio. What I learned was exactly that, that first take is the best. Second best comes after hundred takes, when you allready half crying of desperation.
It’s better to have your songs in ready-to-perform-live state before you even think of recording.

I remember meeting Fito 20 some years ago in Mesa Az. Canned Heat played at little bar in Mesa I think it was the Horseshoe or something like that. I bought his book and he signed it as he was outside having a smoke. Canned Heat was always one of my fav bands...thanks Fito! Don't forget to Boogie. great interview!

How great it was to listen to Bob Hite's radio show broadcast from the basement of a church on KPPC in the early days of FM radio. And how much greater it was to see him ride in on a pink elephant wearing a diaper at the New Years show at the Shrine Exposition Hall!.....

You should have asked about Alan Wilson a lot more, Fito may pass away and all Alan Wilson-isms will vanish forever. We need to know how they selected songs, what each person contributed, why did Larry Taylor and Henry Vestine have a quarrel, did Alan have girlfriends? What about Fito, and Hite and others? Were they inundated with ladies? How about drugs? Were they always on acid? Did Fito drop acid? Man before Fito disappears we need to document that era and phenomenon
