Irving Berlin was such a versatile composer that there's no such thing as a typical Berlin tune. If I didn't already know, I'd say Jerome Kern wrote this.
Because as lot of his songs were brought from other songwriters.

@@lesterwyoung I have no proof, but I had it from a musician who worked from 1907 through the 1960 that his music publishing company would often turn down a song, but offer a small sum, claiming they liked the title (I know a title can't be copyrighted) or some other element of the work, then publish it whole as their own. I'm not saying he wasn't a great song writer, but just as Al Jolson was infamous for stealing other performers' stage bits and putting his name on music he had nothing to with writing, I've no reason to doubt this story of the Berlin Company's underhandedness. The music publishing world has one of the worst reputations in the history of business.
