Hey FTL. When you listen to Aretha Franklin you're hearing one of the greatest singers who ever lived. She is just as perfect and powerful live as she was on this and all of her many great recordings. Check out anything by her and you will never be disappointed! Peace.
Hands down my favorite Aretha song. The musicians are from the Muscle Shoals Studio in in Alabama, They're white blues musicians. There is a longer version with a slow bluesy intro that is even better.
God bless you young man! You should have been around back in the day when she was current on the charts and in our hearts. That soul music dominated our day! There are so many songs you should hear by her and other soul artists! Glad you get that music and her powerful, amazing voice!
Forever the Queen of Soul..No one will ever top her talent and longevity..Now go and listen to every song she ever sang!! Welcome to true inspired talent.
hey man thanks for the vid. check out ‘good to me as I am to you’ from the same album. that’s where you find the real uninhibited power of aretha’s immortal voice.
There are many great black female singers, some with huge voices and wider range, but none of them surpass the gift that Aretha had, her sound is simply unmatched. So you ate starting at the top so to speak, like Shakespear or Mozart, Aretha is a rival-less artist. Now if you want to listen to a recording which confirms this, well I would so love to see your reaction video to 'Good to me as I am to you', which is one of many unmatched recordings, but I think is a real standout in her massive catalogue of vocal supremacy. It is for me the most intensely ferocious three minutes of blurs you can ever hear, with Eric Clapton accompanying her on guitar. It is a the evidence required to understand that although there are many great singers, mainly past but some current, none of them can match Aretha's voice.
You only did one video and this is late but Otis Redding, I would check out Tramp, Cigarettes and Coffee, Try a Little Tenderness, Shake. Base you got Aretha, and then the closest you get to that is Otis for my money. I hope you are doing well! Also yeah that people listen to Chain of Fools and hardly notice Steve Croppers filthy nasty guitar is really a testament to how much of a force she is.
If you react to 'Good to me as I am to you,' from the Lady Soul album, the most ferocious vocal ever put to tape, you will understand why her voice is unmatched in recording history and why she is the greatest.
Thanks for posting. If you have a minute, I tried my hand at a cover of Ed Sheeran. As a fellow music lover, I'd love if you'd check it out. It's on my page. Hope you enjoy!

Young man, you have made this old lady very, very happy today.
The Queen could literally sing anyone into submission 🙌🏽
Loved your genuine reaction and look on your face when you first heard her voice! Check out her song “Respect”.
Loved your reaction! You "got it" right away-I loved the joy on your face!

Swampers cooked up nice one slow easy an greasy for Aretha.
The Swampers were so perfect for Aretha Franklin. This arrangement is so funky.
Careful boy you're getting a taste of that sweet brown sugar!😍

Check out Janis Joplin doing Cry Baby.

Finger pop too loud. Quit talking while she's singing. You need to know.
