Jan. 14 - after trying everything, I tried your exercise for the last couple of days. Immediate improvement and I was able to get back in the gym for other leg exercises. Thanks.
@@Rise4L The groin pull has subsided, but for those reading this, needs constant care via exercise and stretching. I discovered that my pull was the result of my not attending to (strengthening) surrounding muscle groups. Doing that work took the weight off of my groin so it could heal properly. I'm not a doctor but I play one on TV. 🙃
I had been having left hip flexor pain every time I squatted for the past few weeks. Figured it might be because of tight hips. I tried this routine out for the first time before my squats and they were completely pain free. Thank you so much
From experience... Barefoot running [in minimalist shoes] and ice massage from foot to knees cured mine over years... Achilles will benefit from all thing foot mobility, and foot strengthening [especially the toes... Elevated calf raises where you rise up on the toes will be huge for you, as well as duck walks].
@squatuniversity Can you recommend some training I can do strengthen hips and work on mobility. I want to increase height for roundhouse kick as well as better stability and strength for compound lifts ie squat and deadlift. I also find my right leg wants move closer to my left when I am just standing and my right foot walks on the outside of the foot. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
look at his other video called "The BEST Hip Opener", there he goes more in depth on how to do this stretch and also weight, not sure what he used in the video but I use a 14kg kettlebell.

@@ja7020 Same... I've also used whatever dumbbells I had a available as the counterweight. From what I've gathered, upright posture and form is the most important part of this technique.
If you strained your groin, it means you overstretched it (probably a weakness there). Never stretch or massage strains. Rest and ice the first 48 hours, and continue with heat after 48. Now this is great for preventing groin strains.
@@mightymight365 Appreciated, and thank you. I think it came from Cycling using a bike that was too large for me. So, no elliptical, abduction machines or squats?
All of the stuff him and KneeOverToesGuy presents are known techniques within the Sports Medicine world. They present them in unique ways, but much of the stuff is lesser known stuff or things invented/used/proven by Poloquin.

This man is a legend - instead of spending loads of money on a physio, his videos helped diagnose and effectively treat my minor injury. Top man!
Much needed as I approach 50. Thank You!
Let me just say, the glute squeeze before leaning into the stretch is clutch.
How much does it cost to get diagnosed by this guy

so you just did it right before squats and ypu could do them painfree at the same weight?
Such a great warmup before lifting. Cheers
Nothing like loosing the ability to run pain free and then getting that back. It’s life changing.
think my arms are too long for my legs bcuz the kb keep hitting the floor and can't get a good stretch lmao
This is sick. Amazing stuff
Can this possibly help with lower back pain while squatting?
Opening your hips is almost guaranteed to take stress off of the lower back. Speaking from personal experience and research. Hope this helps.
look for kemo mariott tutorial on youtube, most self-taught squat enthusiasts don't even know the basics of a good posture while performing a squat.
May also want to try some heel wedges for more range of motion until you can increase mobility.
I've been having the same kind of problem for months. Tried right now, incredible improvement. You're a wizard 🧙🤗
This guy’s videos are some of the very best things on UA-cam. I ❤️ him!

Would this help with sciatic pain?
Do you have anything for patella tendonitis?
ice and change your socks mixed with Motrin. You're welcome.
I have tried this a number of times and it ultimately aggravates my SI joint. Any idea of what might be going on?
Is this routine meant to be a pre-leg day warm up or should this be a focused workout with working sets on its own?
I noticed you had him stretch his left inner thigh. But what will that stretch on the right leg as he stretches the left inner thigh?
Kettlebell is the way , wish I realized sooner
Can you please show how to fix Achilles and shin pain

Are this and others advices in the squad bible? I have been thinking about buying it
Should we do this before or after a workout?
always stretch after a workout
Is this OK to do before Squats or better for after? (Worried about static stretching before)

@squatuniversity teach your runner to not hyperextend his knees (like he does in the final seconds of this video) 😎
I tried this day one and felt amazing after.. like literally life changing
His knee bends the other way in the end. I think he's an emu bird
....hey Sam 👀. Cutie.
It the kettlebell really needed? Don’t see a point of the weight here.
It's just to encourage a straight torso, doesn't have to be very heavy.
Sam is broken
