Playing as a MaleShep at first I always liked Thane. Particularly his spiritual side and also the fact that he tried to stay in touch with you even after the Omega 4 relay. A true friend.
My very first romance was, obviously, Garrus. I liked it enough that I went on to do it 6 more times through all 3 games and their DLC. When I actually took the time to talk with Thane and then romanced him ... there was no going back for me after that point. I'm not a physical, mental and/or emotional masochist by any means. But when a character feels so compellingly real that you can't help but continuously fall in love with them all over again every time you see and/or talk with them no matter what you're doing?? That's something I always look for in video game romances and Thane definitely did it for me when it came to the Mass Effect Trilogy. As far as I know, Thane is the only romance where Shepard receives an affectionate nickname ( I don't count Ashley's or James' romance for this at all) that actually meant something. A Siha in Drell mythos is the same thing as a GUARDIAN ANGEL in the Christian faith. Thane is essentially saying, "You saved me from myself, and I thank and love you for it." God, this man! And even if you don't romance him, and you're a total jerk to him in any way, shape, or form, there's still a chance he'll call you Siha. This only happens if he's fallen in love with Shepard and will only tell them what it means if they had started the romance. Take that for what you will. Thank you so much for creating this video :D! I really do appreciate it :).

I did a full renegade femshep playthrough and romanced thane. In mass effect 3 his death honestly hit a lot harder with the “prayer he left for you” Kind of feels despite the cruelty I was capable of thane still saw good in me.

Ashley: had to live with the family’s shame from her grandfather who surrendered during the First Contact War and lost her dad leaving her and her mother to raise her younger siblings (and if romanced loses her boyfriend twice) Kaidan: almost got terminal cancer by eezo exposure, killed a turian veteran to save a friend but got several killed in the process, suffered from his L2 implants due to light and sound (and if romanced loses his girlfriend twice) Liara: grew up without a father for a hundred years, lost her mother to Sovereigns control, lost her planet to the reapers (and if romanced potentially cheated on and lost her boy/girlfriend twice) Tali: grew up without a planet, lost her mother to a virus, almost died to carrying valuable geth memory, lost her early 20s crush (if playing male), lost 2 teams under her command, lost her father to reactivated geth, potentially exiled for a crime she didn’t commit (and if romanced lost her boyfriend who made her realize that home isn’t a location but the people you care most about) Garrus: lost faith in C-sec for letting a criminal get away, spent his entire paycheck for a research facility for his mother’s disease so she’s likely dead, lost his team on omega by a treacherous member, lost his planet to the reapers (and if romanced loses his girlfriend) Miranda: made from DNA of her father without a mother, was the first of several siblings prior that got to stay, ran away from her father with her little sister, joined a pro-human terrorist organization, betrayed by her only real friend, killed her own father (and if romanced loses her boyfriend) Jacob: spent 10 years growing up without a dad thinking he died in a ship crash only to find out he’s made his crew eat toxic food while he feasts on the rations (and if romanced ends up cheating on his girlfriend for another) Jack: lost her boyfriend who broke his promise about the life she and he’d have together, doesn’t bother trying to trust anyone (and if romanced loses her new boyfriend) Steve: lost his parents years prior, lost his husband to the collectors (and if romanced loses his new boyfriend) Samantha: presumably lost her parents to the collectors (and if romanced lost her girlfriend) Thane: lost her wife and became distant from his son but ends up dying anyways Conclusion: Thane is the only romance worth taking as Shepard gets temporarily heartbroken by his death but joins him in the end of the game thus only saddens the potential romances on a surface standpoint than a deeper standpoint due to the lack of deep relationship
Precisely why I don't play these games. I would be emotionally wrecked for who knows how long. Hence why I just watch the brief summaries of them. Realistically, I would love to play the game. But I can't handle growing attached to a character and them dying on me. The only solace is that I believe shepherd dies at the end there, so technically, if you romance Thane you get to imagine you are just simply joining him after death. But getting so attached to characters including the main character is my problem. I will even get attached to npcs who aren't main characters. I had an Npc in a game try to protect me in a town before when a random encounter happened and I was getting attacked. I had talked to this NPC and done his quest for him and sold stuff to him often and listened to his conversations in town. I even know where he lives in the town and where he hangs out when he isn't at his stall. And he died trying to help protect me. When I tell you I was distraught, I truly mean it. Since then I have been trying to go out of my way to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again in other play throughs. I've even attempted to search up mods to see if I can marry him in game so that he can get out of the dump he lives in. If you haven't figured it out, I'm talking about Madesi the Saxhleel jeweler in Riften from the Elderscrolls game Skyrim.
It gives me the eek that more than half the "romance" is Thane talking about his ex, that's very unattractive. He is a great character, I just wish the conversations were more about him and less about his ex.

I was sobbing for the last 20 minutes of this, just the whole time lmao
I almost never cry in general, but today seeing Thane die for the first time got me…
Damn you forgot the ending of the Citadel dlc where she talk with Thane.
The way she says "Be alive with me tonight" good god 😩
44:06 oh my god you can see him trembling…
I only ever romance Thane in ME2 and don’t play ME3 coz my head canon doesn’t accept his death. Dammit, Thane, where was your happy ending?
Bro I grew so emotionally attached in an hour but I’m finna sob
31:20 didn't they use that same animation for when you punch Solas in Dragon Age Inquisition or am I going crazy??
Definitely looks to be.
Ahhh after and hour of crying this made me laugh my ass off 🤣 thank you
As someone who is fairly good at writing down his thoughts and philosophical questions, I got to say: Thane really inspired me on how I write some of my texts. He is one of the best things from the mass effect-universe. (+he punched Kai leng. makes him even more likeable.)
Trust me, when I say, that I literally cheered in my chair, when he biotically slapped that ninja-beache!
Oh my god. The way he looks when he says hes ashamed. That shit hurts
I did a full renegade femshep playthrough and romanced thane.
In mass effect 3 his death honestly hit a lot harder with the “prayer he left for you”
Kind of feels despite the cruelty I was capable of thane still saw good in me.
45:52 That head turn.
Sometimes I wanna replay the Thane romance because it has such beautiful moments but then I remember the Citadel DLC ending and I just can't...
Thane got femshep moaning lol
Need them halucenegens
thane is amazing, i loved him and his character. his whole romance made me cry like a baby. ill never forget being his siha
love my limited edition lizard dilf
Boo you skipped thanes jedi force ghost scene
Fr, that was the best part!
Cheap ass bioware for not giving us an intimate scene with Daddy Thane =(
There was it was just entirely offscreen
Kai Leng was a stupid villain, but worth it for the way you get to kill him.
Right now playing mass effect 2 but dear god I could not resist thane and welp I'm sorry garrus but till the end. Thane will always my boi in game.
But still I want cry after seeing him die in game.
1:03:51 on repeat 😭😭😭 I'm okay.....I love hearing him say that. I love you my protector 💚
Thank you for your wisdom green man
The interesting thing is that Thane speaks differently to Shepard than everyone else
It's about calling not by name but in a sweet way
I loved it in mass effect 3 when he says shylang should be inbarised being beaten by a drell who is critical ill
Me when Thane enters the ship:
SHUT UP JACOB.
love you Thane ~❤
thane 1. is the best written character in the whole trilogy, and 2. would be the canon love interest if not for garrus
There’s no canon LI
@@axelnilsson5124 i think you are missing the implicature of my statement in the literal words. garrus also isn’t the ‘canon’ love interest, but fans have kind of decided that shepard ends up with the turian
No, man. 😢😢😢
I never had see FemShepard with Thane's romance. What an absolute character development, i totally forgot he died 😔💔 I never actually believe Shepard dies until now, I'mm fully sure and happy they reunite on the shore 😭😭
this game is romantic and interesting
Wow..... I think Thane might be in my top 5 favourite ME characters now
48:14 love this scene 😍😍😍
This is the best and underrated romance there is😩
44:17 46:13 48:14
They should’ve had so many you couldn’t count them.
I didn't realize it was only 3.☹
I’m watching this because I want to romance Thane but just can’t bring myself to be with anyone but Garrus….
Same 🥲
Same!!!! I'm a loyal gf
And remember that this somehow doesn't get you a Paramour achievement for ME3. Thane will always be one of the strongest romance options and the best floor tank in ME2 on Insanity.
Lawyer: you better have a shovel the size of the citadel to get out of this one
Shepard: *pulls out shovel the size of the citadel*
Lawyer: shit
It's awesome how Thane pulled a Liam Neison (Taken) when he hunted all who were associated with his wife's death
i never got to play ME3, so never really got to experience romancing thane... but holy crap... I swear I'm not crying. Such a beautiful storyline... I hope this shepard got to go to him across that sea T_T
진짜 너무 슬프다.. 편지 읽으면서 눈물만 줄줄 흘리는 중
I did the thane romance in 2 and literally fell in love with him... and I couldn't proceed the game when I found him in the hospital in 3. I won't be able to complete me3 anymore after watching this... Please be happy across the sea Thane :(
Male Shep Romance: Jack
Femshep Romance: Thane
Did you romance someone new in mass effect 3?
if you didnt and stayed loyal to thane, you get a hidden cutscene
i did but I never got the scene in legendary edition, I was super shocked, cause I was looking forward to it so much. Do you know if they changed it by any chance? :(
@@martahal0 as far as im aware they didnt change it, all i did was stay loyal to thane kissed him in the hospital when i visited, didnt flirt or get with anyone else, attended his funeral in the dlc and then watched all his vids he sends you and you should get the cutscene with him.
Just started my playtrough recently, and i feel bad to ignore his confession (when he start called you Siha) And ended me2 without romance with anyone. 🙃
I just realized Kolyat's voice actor is Raiden's from Metal Gear
I can never bring myself to romance anyone except Garrus but man oh man Thane is a close second.
I cried so much in this romance, had to go back and romance Garrus lol
I'm glad Bioware made the romance a bit different w Thane since he's a widower. Some of their romances feel a bit "too easy".
9:58 zaeed: *whips out the full auto matlock * shut ya godanm dreill mouth
My daughter had a great idea , wish the writer would have had it she said that at the end ..it would have been awesome if you hear him say meet across the sea Siha...sigh.
I think Thane just solved the whole gun control argument. Lol.
Please don't start a political argument.
Edit: I am crying so much right now. FUCK!!!!
I think the fact that hurts me the most by the videos is Thane not being able to spend at least a little more time with his Siha.
Thank god for youtube. I can never seem to play as female Shepard, it’s just not immersive for me, and i always go for Tali.
wait aren'ty u suppose 2 get high after enough making out? or is it him getting that? Mordin was never clear on that, he just said that human 2 drell skin contacts means rash 4 i assume the human and oral contact may cause hallucinations possible just 4 the human as well but he's not 100% clear about that
Shepard gets the high because Thane's the one with the venom.
Thanks for your hard work
I thought i would mention something i noticed. For the most part, shepard held back her anger and didn't choose renegade options. It was only when facing thane's killer that she chose renegade. Like she allowed herself that one. Im not sure if that was on purpose, but i love the meaning it added, so thank you
There were no renegade opportunities but for Kai Lengs death
Ashley: had to live with the family’s shame from her grandfather who surrendered during the First Contact War and lost her dad leaving her and her mother to raise her younger siblings (and if romanced loses her boyfriend twice)
Kaidan: almost got terminal cancer by eezo exposure, killed a turian veteran to save a friend but got several killed in the process, suffered from his L2 implants due to light and sound (and if romanced loses his girlfriend twice)
Liara: grew up without a father for a hundred years, lost her mother to Sovereigns control, lost her planet to the reapers (and if romanced potentially cheated on and lost her boy/girlfriend twice)
Tali: grew up without a planet, lost her mother to a virus, almost died to carrying valuable geth memory, lost her early 20s crush (if playing male), lost 2 teams under her command, lost her father to reactivated geth, potentially exiled for a crime she didn’t commit (and if romanced lost her boyfriend who made her realize that home isn’t a location but the people you care most about)
Garrus: lost faith in C-sec for letting a criminal get away, spent his entire paycheck for a research facility for his mother’s disease so she’s likely dead, lost his team on omega by a treacherous member, lost his planet to the reapers (and if romanced loses his girlfriend)
Miranda: made from DNA of her father without a mother, was the first of several siblings prior that got to stay, ran away from her father with her little sister, joined a pro-human terrorist organization, betrayed by her only real friend, killed her own father (and if romanced loses her boyfriend)
Jacob: spent 10 years growing up without a dad thinking he died in a ship crash only to find out he’s made his crew eat toxic food while he feasts on the rations (and if romanced ends up cheating on his girlfriend for another)
Jack: lost her boyfriend who broke his promise about the life she and he’d have together, doesn’t bother trying to trust anyone (and if romanced loses her new boyfriend)
Steve: lost his parents years prior, lost his husband to the collectors (and if romanced loses his new boyfriend)
Samantha: presumably lost her parents to the collectors (and if romanced lost her girlfriend)
Thane: lost her wife and became distant from his son but ends up dying anyways
Conclusion: Thane is the only romance worth taking as Shepard gets temporarily heartbroken by his death but joins him in the end of the game thus only saddens the potential romances on a surface standpoint than a deeper standpoint due to the lack of deep relationship
I'm not crying, you are
i just cried my eyes out holy shit
I almost got this romance but I backed out when he asked. I made my Shep a lesbian but she loved thane. She ended up with Samantha.
Fuck me this is tragic and soul crushing..
Wait.. Bailey's voice gives very much Tullius vibes.
It's the same voice actor :). I was shocked myself when I heard him for the first time too.
Michael Hogan is everywhere.
"I want you"
Insert Mater and McQueen meme
Wow I’m pissed and sad 🥲
It gives me the eek that more than half the "romance" is Thane talking about his ex, that's very unattractive. He is a great character, I just wish the conversations were more about him and less about his ex.
You worded the odd feeling I have about his romance perfectly.
bruh liara and tali did not have to hurt as bad as they did
My favourite squad mate after legion & Miranda 😢😢😢
dawg i never romanced him hell i never did his loyalty mission but how in the hell did it get me to tear up like this damn i missed out
48:23 what exactly happened there? Did they just...
