the best vehicle to pick up women
Google the price of these things.
@@EoinReardon before I do I'll guess. 125,000
More like you'd just be picking up all the train nerds and like a small handful of women who think you have money.
@@gardeningDryad better than a relationship honestly
@ghoost does this explain the confused looks I get off women? 😮😂
What a beautiful traction engine!
Greetings from the United States. Great video. Good point regarding steam. Among many other uses. Steam generates reliable electricity 24/7 regardless of the weather.
Whenever I see steam engines in parades or at fairs, I always smile because they remind me of the amazing engineering that humanity was capable of in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
What a terrific video! Well done to Ben (jnr) for his presentation of the engine and the information that he passed on. I've wanted to get to the Innishannon rally for some years now, and this has increased that desire! If I do, I'll be sure to drop by Celtic Steamers tent! Thanks!
A really nice description of things, and a nice view in the wagon, I've seen these at steam rally's in Australia and kind of assumed the insides but never actually seen one.
Eoin this was a great video! I enjoyed it very much! I love anything steam powered!
Eoin this is great! Feels so much like local programming I loved growing up. Love the woodworking stuff but would definitely watch more content like this from you!
Thanks Branden! I’m glad you liked it. Will definitely do more stuff like this.
@@EoinReardon you would have an absolute kick at the pike steam show in Pennsylvania USA
Great video - very interesting. But the one thing that really stood out - he is a born speaker! No hesitations, no ums no pauses. He did a great job representing his club.
Their dedication definitely paid off.The engine looks and sounds amazing.🚂❤❤
The scissors brought me here. Brilliant engine mate.
great work Eoin the Engine looks in good shape i would love one of these
These stuff are always entertaining
What an interesting machine, sounds wicked
That fellow is carrying on a tradition that died nearly 100 years ago. Never would I have anticipated watching someone drive a stream tractor. Very cool!
Nice video, I enjoyed it. Thanks.
Love that this old bit of kit is still 'out and about', not sat gathering dust n rust in a dank museum. Lovely to see the younger generations learning the skills to keep it running and maintained!. Nice one! Bril!. Nuff said!. Onya! Maddog, Melbourne Aus!. 🙂
Old timely things such as engines and their counterparts (cars, trains, etc), are just so fascinating to me. Love it
Thank you from the US for keeping us grounded in our history. You are right, no steam, no progress.
I saw the short you put out for this a couple hours ago, very well done
Cheers, I think I’m going to make more videos like this one. Had lots of fun making it. I’ll still be making the regular wood content though
I love all steam powered machines and appreciate your time an money keeping this engine running. Thanks for the video too.
It never occurred to me that there would be steam-engine vehicles that weren't train engines! Thank you for sharing this, it's delightful to see such an old vehicle which has been taken care of very well, and to watch it in action
That’s a stunning engine.
Steam engines are working, works of art. They did a great job cleaning Uncle George up and keeping it in working condition. Thank you for bringing us along.
That was awesome! This is the first video I've watched of yours after seeing your numerous shorts. I've never seen the amount of detail that goes into one of these old beauties, thank you and the Tomkins for sharing!
I was shopping at Marshall’s yard earlier today, the shopping area built on the old site of the factory responsible for this amazing engine. The crane which would have moved some of the large parts is still on display when you drive in. Great to see one in such good repair,
It really is surreal watching these old beasts starting back up and running once again, especially while surrounded with modern technology. The technology we wouldn't have if it weren't for this important stepping stone in industrial history.
Eoin, I love watching your videos. I inherited my great-grandfather's woodworking hand tools. Thanks to you, I have taken on a love for these century old tools that I am figuring out what they are and how to use them. Blessings! Bryan
Ein sehr schönes Videodokument 🙂
Sick video!! Keep up the strong work brother! Love from the USA!
Ben's dad is blessed with a son who adores him and his is father's right hand
My Dad was born in 1912. What a piece of art. Thank you for preserving history.
Its a beautiful looking traction engine. I find it surprising how "cramped" the cockpit area is though compared to a similar sized US engine from Peerless or Cass. Here in the states the coal and water bunkers are kept off to each of their own areas on the sides with the immediate rear usually being left open as a platform to stand on. This provides lots of room for firing, and in general comfort. I have fond memories of attending many steam traction and antique farm equipment festivals while as a kid. Thanks for the video.
Oh my I could sit listening to your accent for days.
This brought back many happy memories for me. I used to drive a 1911 Marshall Traction Engine, works no 57375, reg no HO 5581.
We spent many happy weekends at rallies around East Anglia, along with the occasional road run to local schools for their Summer Fayres.
Just want to say I love all your videos and shorts mu daughters love learning about "old stuff" and so do I and this video was wonderful even I learnt alot so keep going you doing a marvelous job
Im a volunteer at the umgeni steam railway
Im the engine cleaner
So i kinda know how much work goes into these things
That traction engine really is beautiful
There IS NOT enough likes! THIS IS AMAZING!!! WAY TO GO BOYS!!!
Thank God 💯I'm glad you're doing longer 🙏💚🤍❤️
113 years later an autonomous EV is an option. Thank you for keeping history alive 🍀
Fantastic! The steamers on that side are a bit more fancy than what we have over here.
I'm glad I have had the opportunity to operate some the past few weekends.
Thank you for this. I just love watching and hearing these wonderful works of engineering art.
I’m far more familiar with steam traction in regards to railway engines so it’s super cool seeing what’s similar and different about the startup and operation. Awesome video mate!
Very well presented. A pleasure to watch. Quedos to the cameraman also.
GREAT ENGINE!!! GREAT VIDEO!!!
i love your videos keep up the good work
Great video lads well done
Great video and explanation of everything. Thank you for taking the time to make this and share it with the world.
Such a good video. Very interesting. Thank you to you all
Epic.
An absolute credit to Ben and Ben.
Beautiful machine.
Thanks for keeping traditional machinery alive and spreading education on the past, a noble task indeed.
Nice one!!
9:00 that narration is a time capsule on its own!
I enjoyed your video, good luck
We need more videos like this from Ireland for the steam mad fan like myself
I used to watch old model train videos with my dad and they had black bars on the sides that made this feel nostalgic. Anyway great content as always keep up the great work!
Just found your channel and Subscribed. Nice engine
Guy is a crazy good driver of train
Beautiful Restoration !!
I own an 1895 Buffalo Pitts steam traction engine, still working on getting it show ready.
Such a wonderful video, my old man gets me around to car rallies here in NSW, Australia. So cool to see how its done around the world and with such an awesome engine. Love all the other vids too!
That must really be the most unhappy people looking. Love the handbreak, big iron stick.
Amazing! Great to see the workings from the driver’s viewpoint.
Brilliant! Thanks
BEAUTIFUL restoration job! 👍⚙❤
That's so cool!
Great video! What a beautiful machine. Reminds me of that Fred Dibna guy. Thanks
I've been to quiet a few rallies over the years. You can't beat being stood by an engine for a bit of warmth outside a beer tent with the subtle smell of gear oil on the air!
I absolutely love steam engines i have been to a few steam rallies here in england but that looks so much cooler
I'm from a little village just outside Gainsborough, and what was the Marshall factory has now became Marshalls yard a shopping centre.
Fabulous video Eoin, I learned more than I ever have at a steam rally.... I think because I wasn't keeping an eye out for pups or food 😂😂😂
Lovely engine, great job
Brilliant video. Really enjoyed it.
amazing video talks thru whole process well done
the guy hitting the doohickey in the background with carnival music really elevated this tbh
Nice video interesting.
Out of every technical question I had that I either researched or you answered, the only question I still have is how does one pull off the casual flat cap?
Good on you! That tractor looks absolutely splendid! I hope to be in Cork in June 😅
This was so interesting learnt a lot
I can smell the oil, steam & coal, lovely
Beautiful engine. I really appreciate the demonstration of how it works. Also you said it was 7 horse power but you must have some truly giant horses.
This is very cool.
Dude has great control
Very enjoyable this
Just like the Buckley old engine show in michigan .
so many cute Irish guys... clearly need to move to ireland
Excellent video, Well done.
Very interesting
I love steam vehicles. I think Jay Leno had one on his channel awhile back.
Beautiful
Roll up into a car meet with this
Why did we stop naming our transportation? I’d love to call my car by a fun name. Super cool guys, would love to see more!
Wait that's not a normal thing anymore? Dude I've named all of my cars in my racing games, even the car I actually drive irl has a name
A lot of people still name their machines, but I know in my house it would just cause problems. Imagine me sayin' to the Mrs. "I'm goin' to spend the day with Uncle George". She would likely say "Oh sure, the day with Uncle George! Yeah, I bet! Better be, and not polishin' up to no hot steamer someplace out in the fields! Oh, and now you're invitin' me along! Just like ya, always sayin' "the more the merrier!" I'll be havin' nothin' to do with it, no thank ya! But the next time I see Uncle George, his and your stories better match up!"
"Wait a minute, who is this Uncle George? You don't have an Uncle George, and I don't have an Uncle George... Ok, that does it! I am comin' along just to see what you're REALLY up to!"
@@douglas_drewwhat’s funny is I read this in an Irish accent.
On the ball with the Chef ketchup on the sausages and rashers
great Video very well done!
Cold starting?
I think that you mean, firing her up!
This engine used to live in Kent if I remember right!
Well done boys
Eoin, I have a question unrelated to this video. I was watching your video on making a bird house and I saw you talk and use a shooting board. My question is this; what is the difference from your shooting board and Rob Cosman's? Thank you for your great video's I really enjoy seeing them.
Good on you MeBoyos.
Very cool
May sound a silly question but do you always wait for the safety valves to blow before using the engine? What a stunning machine that is. Love it.
Grate video
