the state isnt prepared at atll for a direct hit hurricane. when that happens the damage will be worse than Lahaina. look at the damage from the recent hurricane in the south. imagine oahu having that much damage.

So what I am hearing is that the disproportionate small wildfire payout in relation to overall large insurance payments prior to the crisis is what constitutes the morbid "bad" excess in profit in the attempts of reimbursement. Pay out of proportion in profiteering. I'm afraid the insurance industries/businesses are not as receptive to appeals to emotion. Financial health upstream management...no different than health behavior change
So 4.5 billion settlement how much of that do the lawyers get because let me tell you they came out of the wood work and pounced on this tradgedy.

There are very few who watch sports compared to the amount of housing Hawaii needs. What is he going to build for less than $1 billion? You could spend $1 billion on just the corporate boxes/owner suites.
Thanks for the coverage. Lets hope for some integrity in the insurance industry. And lets hope the Kapiolani Nurses are treated with respect and attain a fair contract!

Hawaiian Electric is one of the nations best utility companies- good to work for and loyal to the state . To impose 1 billion in liability when people perished is blame and enigma not deserved . I can outline county and State shortcomings that exceed that of HECO .
I understand the benefit to resolution and a non contest liability that is shared but it’s at the cost and decimation to stock holders .
