Congratulations on the move to LA. I'm not a big spider fan myself so I'm definitely on Shane's side. We have a very similar spider here in New Zealand from the same family but never seen one and never want to.

As a native Californian, it is a big lifestyle change. I've been in the Midwest for over 20 years but we are wanting to move back to the Southland, as they say. Enjoy your warm winters!
Born and raised in OC as well, moved to illinois for 12 yrs.. came back, and it’s just so different now.. and expensive as hell, I sometimes regret it, but i also hate snow.

Yay!!!! Welcome to my state and specifically my county - Los Angeles! There are so many great things to do here in SoCal and I can't wait for you both to discover them and share it with all of us! Just walking along the boardwalk in Santa Monica or Venice... OH OH OH the Venice Canals! The gardens, The Huntington, the Rose Garden at Exposition Park and all the museums there, Santa Monica Pier, Rose Hills Memorial Park Rose Garden, of course the Observatory, Ferndale Park with nice wide paths that Shane can easily maneuver, Descanso Gardens, The Getty along with our many other museums... oh the fun you will have discovering the many places we have here! Our traffic is horrendous and the heat can be unbearable at times but we don't have snow unless you drive 1 to 3 hours to find it. I hope you love my state half as much as I do!
Congrats guys! I relocated from NY to Fl a year ago and it has been amazzzzzing! The weather and tropical feel and the ocean being right down the road- every days like a vacation! Hope you guys love it there
Congrats on the move! I was bit by a black widow when I lived in Indiana and 48 hours later, it was very feverish and hurt a fair amount. But take comfort in the fact that if it happens to you, you really won't die and some meds make it all better! Also, they go out of their way to hide from people normally so I'd be surprised if you see them there more than we do most other places.

Just be careful and do not stick your fingers in areas that are covered without either wearing gloves or using other tools. In northern cal, the brown recluse spider is a lot more problematic. There is a stress factor that you can minimize when leaving earlier that mapquest. Im glad you two are here in LA. My wife and I welcome you. The beaches are beautiful, the mountains are beautiful.
Good luck. My daughter lived in LA for a year (her husband was in a niche part of the entertainment industry) and couldn't handle the traffic, living expenses and homelessness problem.
Had to get out of LA- too much of everything…cost, traffic, Gov nightmares. We went to GA- love it & the weather is mild. Best wishes to you both- hope you find it to be all that you hope for.

So happy for you both. California is supposed to be a wonderful place. On my visits there the people have been very friendly and accepting. The weather will definitely agree with you, though, once acclimated, you may find normal temperatures in the winter are cold, if only because of the humidity. Being from Saskatchewan, we were there one Christmas, and it was a typical 72 degrees, so we were in shorts, t-shirts and such, while the Californians were wearing heavy jackets. Looking forward to your announcements and the content from the new home.
Good to see the UA-cam channel is doing so well! It seems like once a channel gets over a million subscribers the creators often move to CA…makes sense! Your body will feel so much better Shane! It’s still tough moving to a different coast
I’m from Camarillo originally and currently live in NY. I definitely love Cali so much more so I get why you moved. The weather is phenomenal. The food is great. Beaches, mountains, attractions.
Welcome to California! My family relocated from Boston 13 years ago and we absolutely love it. There are so many unique neighborhoods in LA. My preference is Studio City with close access to numerous hiking trails, golf, tennis, and sushi row. Enjoy.
We use a pest control service here in LA. They come and spray non-toxic stuff around the perimeter of the house every three months (and in between if we need it), which has really limited the amount of spiders and insects we find in our home. Termites are another problem that everybody deals with in CA.
I lived in Nevada for 10 years. Black widows are no joke. You will adapt - just never pick up a rock, or reach into anything without looking first. Once that habit becomes second nature, you won't give it another thought. I used to keep hair spray in the house to "freeze" bugs until I could kill them. You will need to watch out for rattlers too. :(
Welcome to LA, Hannah & Shane! Always wondered if you'd take the plunge. Cold weather and SMA truly don't mix; I moved from CT on my own at 25 and never looked back. Knowing that you like the Pasadena area, may I suggest Descanso Gardens (in La Cañada) when things are in bloom, a super friendly dog park for Chloe on Orange Grove Blvd in Pasadena and Mijares Mexican restaurant. Can't wait to see how you settle in to your new home!
Smart move ...so much more to keep you busy ! Our food choices are so delicious we are all spoiled. The weather is so much easier for an active life style. There's always something along the coast or parks to keep you busy. Your family will love to come visit. I think your blogs will be very creative and fun.
Welcome to California Dreaming! I've lived in California my whole life and still love it! I currently live in Santa Cruz, a beautiful place with Redwoods and beaches. You will be able to enjoy so much more outside living. Farmers Markets, outside eateries, parks and beaches, etc. A wonderful play land! Enjoy! So grateful for your content and the positive message you bring to your platform. Thank you. Much love.
I swear by this item - for roach, flea, spider control indoors . . . I've been using it in my house(s) in FL, AZ, CA, NM, AR for better than 30 years! It's economical, and effective . . . it's called "Pest Offense" . . . I got it (originally) from a company in FL . . . don't know if they are still operating/supplying it, but it's the BEST product I've ever had. How/why does it work? It plugs in to an indoor outlet, and emits a pulse in the home wiring - that incapacitates the bug's ability to reproduce. While waiting for this amazing gadget to work? I used/use Bengal spray on the outside foundation, and door jambs, once a year...if/when the bugs cross the 'line'? they die very quickly. Best wishes to you in your new home/environment . . . been there/done that! LOL
Welcome to California! Much love from Pasadena, CA. I really am glad you are highlighting a lot of the positive qualities of Southern California. Wonderful people. Wonderful food. Wonderful vibes. I hope you discover all the cool gems here. From an amazing dog beach in Huntington Beach. To a beautiful arboretum/mall in Arcadia. To the Monrovia nightmarket. To amusement parks such as Disneyland in Anaheim. The list can go on forever. Do note gas prices have been fluctuating a lot lately lol. Hope yall have a wonderful time living here nonetheless.
I moved from Illinois to Washington state and I hate the rain in Washington state in the chilly, windy twilight like Illinois. It’s cold and wet and windy. Terrible winters… So I moved to Fresno California for a travel therapy assignment and loved it. It’s not perfect Tera but I could count on one hand how many times it rained in a year… I love the sunrise is sunset, so I love hot weather I love, so many things about California a lot more bugs I encountered bugs and I’m a very clean person but lots of bugs of my apartments that I’ve never seen before. That was a little difficult but I miss hot sunny California all the time I live in Washington state again only because my grandchild lives out here. If he wasn’t around, I would be living back in central California… I would go to the coast in California for little trips which is always nice and refreshing, but I could never live in LA. I couldn’t deal with the traffic and the smog… But it’s a great place to visit… Have a great time getting settled in.
Former Minneapolitan (45 yrs), LA area 25+ years. Only bugs I deal with, here, is the occasional cockroach. Many more bug issues in MN, despite the cold. Still miss having four seasons and actual weather. Has never gotten cold enough in LA to necessitate more than a sweater (have never used my heater).
Yayyy! Pasadena resident here! It is definitely worthwhile to get a membership to the Huntington - so many great events for members and much more cost-efficient. You two are going to love Californina. So happy for you both! x
I am totally psyched that you guys are where you want to be, very brave as well. I so look forward to watching videos with Cole and Charisma! They are beautiful people and face very similar life encounters. Take care guys!
having come from California and now living in Minnesota, I can tell you your winters are going to be so much easier, and your daily living is going to be so much better.
Shane and Hannah! Wow, welcome to Los Angeles! I'll bet you will be very happy with the sunshine just about every day. I know you will miss your parents and they will miss you. Hope Chloe will like her new home. Sending hugs❤
I prefer this kind of video...just the two of you talking to us like friends ..or out and about, taking us along on your journeys 😊❤ congratulations on the move...I don't think I could have left that amazing house...but I could have for Florida, I miss Florida...
As a Californian from Irvine, that moved to Minnesota, I’m excited for the CA and MN content now! Those huge black widows make a big popping sound when you squish them. My mom always told me to watch out for the webs that crackle when you get rid of them because they’re black widow webs
They also make a Zig Zag Pattern in the web that is unlike the pattern in standard spider webs. The strands are also so strong you can pull on them and they don't snap until you put in quite a lot of force.
also some good information to have: black widows actually aren’t as dangerous as they are made out to be. they very rarely bite-unless you are a threat to them-and their bite is not usually fatal. unless you are allergic or the bite gets infected, i believe. also in general, as im sure most people already know, spiders are always good to keep around, and if they are around your house then you are actually getting free protection from pests. and, if you really do not want a spider in or around your house, you can always just take a cup and a piece of paper and relocate them. but remember that they are there for a reason, and more will be back.
Welcome to California! You will love Huntington Museum! Be sure to make reservations IN ADVANCED for their tea room. It is lovely place to eat, but always busy. I hope you get to visit the Columbia Memorial Space Center. It is a small, but mighty museum. It is located on the location where Apollo 11 was built. Yes, 80% of the Apollo and Shuttle missions were built in Downey, California. Some of the engineers who worked on Apollo 11 are still with us, talk to the director Ben and he can get you in contact with them. They would be great to interview for your channel. The sequoias are unworldly beautiful. I am not sure how ADA it is. It would be helpful to others to find out. Both Getty museums are gorgeous! Glad you made the move and welcome!
When we moved to Arizona we found out we had to get someone to come out and treat the yard and around the house regularly because of that... coming from Wisconsin I had never heard of that.
Congrats on the move. Given your circumstances the move to California makes a lot of sense. I did the Canadian version of your move having left Alberta for Metro Vancouver nine years ago. I’m quite sight impaired so the amount of gray skies works much better for me. And practically no snow! So again best wishes on the newest chapter of your lives while embracing the journey!
oh damn, at first from the title i thought you guys meant "you moved" for a few months like how you did it last year. welcome to LA! i moved here 5 years ago from NJ and haven't regretted it
Yay! I live in SoCal. The bad thing about California is that everything is so expensive. Your gas prices will shock you! The weather really can't be beat though. You will love the Huntington! Be sure to go in the late spring for the best floral display. Yeah, you'll need to bomb the house and any cinderblock walls before you move in. Black widows are pretty common here. You'll get used to them.
I hope your new place has a pool. Shane always seems to enjoy floaring in a pool and Hannah, well she's practically a mermaid. Enjoy yourselves and be safe out there.
One of your first activities needs to be recreating the opening sequence and song to Threes Company. “Come and knock on our door…we’ve been waiting for you…”. Such a happy opening!
Congrats on the move! Love the sweatshirt Hannah! As a Wisconsinite who is getting tired of the winters, I am totally happy for (& jealous of) your move!!
The Huntington library is beautiful and of course thr the Getty museum is free buy parking isnt, but beautiful views! Brentwood mart is lovely, California science and natural jittery museum! You must do all the museums in Los Angeles! And the Nethercutt museum has beautiful classic cars and the one from home improvement tools time with and old.classic steam engine! Enjoy them!❤
One thing I love so much about your videos is how normal you two are. Of course living with disabilities brings its unique challenges but the overall mood that you two share in this video is the exact same any other couple has after moving, slightly exhausted but excited ^^ Best of luck in California!
I am born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca, 72 years of age, black widows are a norm here, I have tried to move out of California, but I love the sunshine and the beach, the traffic is terrible, i don't drive anymore, and many of the people that I have as friends are from other countries. There are many things to see and do, just have to plan it out and be prepared to take 2 hours to get somewhere that's half and hour a way.
I spent most of my life in L.A. Vacuum your furniture about once a month. Pull away from the wall and take cushions off and vacuum underside. The brown recluse spider is the issue where I now live. I vacuum the furniture and crevices once a month. I hope you enjoy L.A.
Welcome to LA! This just so happens to be spider mating season... Just be careful reaching underneath chairs and tables. Not only are there black widows, but also brown widows. The big ones with the crazy webs are the least of your worries. As you can see, living in LA has given me a PhD in Spiderology. Have fun!
Brown widows are the worst! When we lived in San Diego they always built their webs and laid eggs in the places we frequented (mail box, outdoor furniture, hand rails, etc).
That's great that you moved somewhere to make easier for Shane and yourself . Seems like alot of you tubers moving to Cali , content is going to be same just different folks.
Welcome to CA and Los Angeles! I moved here from the east coast 15 years ago and haven’t regretted a day of it! Come and visit Rosie’s Dog Beach in Long Beach 🐶
Love Savoy Pizza. We will miss you here in MN. I left LA over 20 yrs ago and would never go back. I definitely don't miss the black widows. Watch out for the recluse spiders, those bites will do serious harm.
Regarding the spider, I first thought Hannah said: "To remove it I got a cop," (instead of "cup") and I thought: "Yeah, I would have done the same..." 😂

Thank you. Much love.
I'm not the least bit surprised you moved to California. I expected it. Can't wait for all your new adventures and collabs. Congrats 🎉❤
I love the way you both look at each other and the other is talking - your both filled with so much love it is fantastic to watch xx
Congratulations on your new chapter. Sounds exciting and imagine it will open up new doors. Love you both. Be safe. Cali is not what it used to be.
Yayyy! Pasadena resident here! It is definitely worthwhile to get a membership to the Huntington - so many great events for members and much more cost-efficient. You two are going to love Californina. So happy for you both! x
Love your Door County sweatshirt! Congrats on the big move and best of luck on your new adventure! Love from Wisconsin!
Sad you moved. Loved that you'd go to places in MN and Midwest that were familiar. Not many MN UA-camrs I know of and now there are two fewer. 🙁
Yeah, i could see how the milder weather would be great for shane and make work easier. Congrats on the move.
Also, Griffith Park, LA Zoo & Aquarium, San Diego Zoo & Safari Park, LACMA
Did you buy a house? House tour? What are you going to do about your IVF journey?
When we moved to Arizona we found out we had to get someone to come out and treat the yard and around the house regularly because of that... coming from Wisconsin I had never heard of that.
Yaaaay!!!! So excited!!! Glad Shane is in a much warmer climate! Glad you survived the spider! Brave Hannah!
Congrats. Enjoy the sunshine! Hopefully the better weather is easier on Shane.
FYI you can buy a spider vacuum that has a long nozzle. I have one and it's great and you don't have to get too close to it.
oh damn, at first from the title i thought you guys meant "you moved" for a few months like how you did it last year. welcome to LA! i moved here 5 years ago from NJ and haven't regretted it
I would never want to live in L.A.
Housing is ridiculously crazy ..
High property tax.
Traffic is nuts.
Great news, sorry to see you leave but you need to do what’s right for your circumstances. Hope you absolutely love it.
One of your first activities needs to be recreating the opening sequence and song to Threes Company. “Come and knock on our door…we’ve been waiting for you…”. Such a happy opening!
Congratulations! I was partly raised in Cali. I'm happy for you guys. ❤❤❤
Welcome to California! You're going to love it here. Looking forward to hearing about your new opportunities.
I always enjoy Shane's version of the story.
Congrats on the move! Love the sweatshirt Hannah! As a Wisconsinite who is getting tired of the winters, I am totally happy for (& jealous of) your move!!
The squishing I never would have recovered from. I love you Hannah! hahaha
Enjoy them!❤
Nice list!
Love the Norton Simon museum too!
One thing I love so much about your videos is how normal you two are. Of course living with disabilities brings its unique challenges but the overall mood that you two share in this video is the exact same any other couple has after moving, slightly exhausted but excited ^^ Best of luck in California!
Oooh Huntington library and gardens are gorgeous! Also, Claremont Botanical gardens is accessible if you are ever that way. Welcome to CA.
Congratulations 🍾🎉 Sending good wishes your way 🙏🏽👍
I am born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca, 72 years of age, black widows are a norm here, I have tried to move out of California, but I love the sunshine and the beach, the traffic is terrible, i don't drive anymore, and many of the people that I have as friends are from other countries. There are many things to see and do, just have to plan it out and be prepared to take 2 hours to get somewhere that's half and hour a way.
How exciting for the 2 of you. Congratulations sending prayers & positive vibes for your new adventure and no more huge spider encounters.
I spent most of my life in L.A. Vacuum your furniture about once a month. Pull away from the wall and take cushions off and vacuum underside. The brown recluse spider is the issue where I now live. I vacuum the furniture and crevices once a month. I hope you enjoy L.A.
Omg that’s creepy
Welcome to LA! This just so happens to be spider mating season... Just be careful reaching underneath chairs and tables. Not only are there black widows, but also brown widows. The big ones with the crazy webs are the least of your worries. As you can see, living in LA has given me a PhD in Spiderology. Have fun!
Brown widows are the worst! When we lived in San Diego they always built their webs and laid eggs in the places we frequented (mail box, outdoor furniture, hand rails, etc).
Welcome to LA guys!! youve picked on of the most expensive areas but we do get beautiful weather! :)
😮!!! GOOD LUCK & GOD SPEED!!!😮
With all of current laws, regulations, mandates, crime, taxes etc. etc. The best Cal to me is No Cal at all.
That's great that you moved somewhere to make easier for Shane and yourself . Seems like alot of you tubers moving to Cali , content is going to be same just different folks.
Angeleno here ✋🏼 since you said you love Mexican food, the best restaurants are El Cholo and El Coyote! Highly recommend!
Welcome to CA and Los Angeles! I moved here from the east coast 15 years ago and haven’t regretted a day of it! Come and visit Rosie’s Dog Beach in Long Beach 🐶
While everyone is running from CA you guys are moving in😂 I get the good weather but everything else there good luck! 🍀 ❤
Agree! Yikes!
Agreed! But it's beautiful.
Love Savoy Pizza. We will miss you here in MN. I left LA over 20 yrs ago and would never go back. I definitely don't miss the black widows. Watch out for the recluse spiders, those bites will do serious harm.
Savoy is delish!
Well darn, I was really hoping to run into you in the wild in MN!
Same.
Yup. Spiders, mosquitos and ants - it's all here in crazy numbers and I hate it. Your welcome to LA sounds about right :)
That's cool that you guys are near Cole and Charisma. I can just imagine the food in LA. Congratulations!!
Have fun getting to explore California!! I know you will miss family, but I think some great adventures await you!☀️🌴
Regarding the spider, I first thought Hannah said: "To remove it I got a cop," (instead of "cup") and I thought: "Yeah, I would have done the same..." 😂
Thought she said cop too and I was like DAMN RIGHT GRL 😂😂😂
Great 👍❤ you can go to the museum of natural history
I'm a New Yorker who moved to Cali years ago bc of the weather! I love it here! Welcome, and congrats! 🎉
