Councils urged to strengthen development controls

The Zambia Institute of Planners has appealed to councils countrywide to strengthen their development control functions, which allow them to monitor compliance to building standards.
Institute President, BUSIKU SULWE says the law provides that a building only covers 40 per cent of its land allocation, while the remaining 60 percent should be for vegetation.
