    I’m glad you reviewed this. I ordered the carbon fiber looking one. It’s a 7k series too. I couldn’t beat it for the price, and it’s going on a budget 6’10 rod.

      On the first day hit a shark. That reel was strong enough to bring it into the pier but it finally bit through the carbon steel hook. Since that day i put in my order for a second 7K reel. As you said hard to beat the price. My local friend who also uses it for shoreline fishing is quite happy with hers as well.

      I really like this 7K! My friend who i mentioned in this vid also loves hers. So i just purchased my 2nd 7K off Temu. Makes sense as i normally fish with 2 rigs. The Price is right! (sorry for copyright infringements on that) lol

    Nice reveiw. Looks to be a pretty decent reel. The thick bell metal is defintly a plus. A decent spin reel here in the box box store will cost you $60 just for the reel.i think I'm going to purchace one and try it.

      I was the first one on YT to try one as i couldn't find anythingonline about it. So i decided to get the 1K & really liked it! Than the 500. By then i was sold. Getting my 2nd 1K completed my circle.

      @@ScubaChris that's awesome. You have convinced me to buy one. Then if i like it I'll buy 2 more. I'm sure they are great
      I work allot. So don't get to fish as much as i would like. I defintly try to go on the weekends during the summer months. I'm sure it's perfect for my use. I just want one that will hold up and catch fish. I have been using a couple lews spin casts and they have treated me well. They are $60 a piece though. I want 2 more rod and reels to complete my circle. I am hoping these you use are good. Thanks again. Tight lines. From arkansas!

    Nice reel for the price l have ordered various fishing gear from Temu... lures, 2 small reels & some rods the rods from Temu that are around $40 - $50 Australian are excellent rods l was very surprised a rod of equal quality & build purchased here in Australia from a tackle store would cost over $100.00.

    Aloha from hawaii my braddah. Thanks for this review. I been eyeing these up on temu as well but I already have a decent Shimano setup. Now I’m thinking of getting a 3rd setup with some cheaper but pretty good stuff for fun to mess around with. I’m liking the 4000 series size so I’m guessing 5000 for this would be similar to a 4000 for Shimano or Diawa? I know reel sizes differ for companies and models. But this is awesome thanks man!

    • @ScubaChris
      @ScubaChris  11 місяців тому +1

      Honesty i feel the gearing isn't strong/thick enough for that as these are "basic" spinning reels. For general all around spinning it's a great reel. I may be wrong but it's my gut feeling on these.

    Hello from St. Louis Missouri have you had a chance to use the reel yet also do you think it would hold up against fish between 30 and 60 pounds ? Thanks for posting the video I got the 7000 size but I was worried about river fishing with it

    • @ScubaChris
      @ScubaChris  Рік тому +2

      I tried it yesterday. Got a huge strike but it bit through the hook. Most likely a shark. Now when you get a sizeable strike i rarely rely on my reel to horse it in. It's mostly the resilience of the rod i'm using combing the length to the recoil action to tire out the fish. I use the reel more as a "brake". Meaning i don't pit the reel's braking system right off the bat. But in this case i had to because it was striping out my spool for maybe a minute.
      I did stop the run roughly 30sec into the fight. So yes the reel had stopping power! I used 25lb mono so didn't apply a lot of force, just enough. 30sec after it was running parallel to me the line went slack. Bit through the 5/0 carbon steel hook. Could've been a big Cuda as well. But instead of being pissed i was happy to see the reel felt "heavy" & solid enough to power back that run.
      Notice on the app there are several listings for that model. I just checked again. The 1/2/3/4/5/6/7K when you hit the sizes have the rounded Gomexus styled handle. The 9/10/12K size has a regular hand grip when the pic shows after you hit it. Be careful on ordering. I was thinking of getting the 1K for light bait applications & the 4K for all around spinning. Only thought of that last night as that power run showed me what this reel can do!
      Not thin metaled or has a "plastic" look or feel. I tighten the drag & pulled line. Wow! Not easy. And it really looks sharp. The feel of that knob in my hand felt assuring as well.

    • @ScubaChris
      @ScubaChris  Рік тому +2

      I put on 25lb mono. Felt good! I used the Soft Steel brand. Use whatever brand or strength that you think would be best for the areas you fish & you're targeted species. Of course you'd get more braid yardage on. Going for Cats?
