My hair is a level 6-7 dark blonde naturally golden. I have a permanent black hair dye on it. I just feel like I’m stuck with it growing out, I just think it looks horrendous

I’d recommend using a darker color conditioner on your root until the black grows out! It’s the easiest way. It won’t give full coverage but it will blend much better than not doing anything!

Good idea! I have just grown out my natural hair and I wish I had seen this as it was hard going having 2 different colours for so long. 😊 xx

i have natural level 4 chestnut brown and i've taken an appointment to get a dark auburn i believe when i grow it out eventually i will be able to revert to a chocolate without much damage but color correction through semi permanent could be a nice alternative i would get a dark color i could experiement with for a bit, i'll manage to go back to auburn if i ever feel like it (more so if i end up using henna in the future) i'm really interested in color theory and so experiment with what shades of greens and blues give what results would be interesting, and my favorite part of having bleached hair at 18 was playing with semi permanent dyes every other week. Also if my colored mids and ends end up lihter and more washed out i'll be able to play with reds purples and oranges before trying to correct my color

    I like this method... 👍
My question is, if you apply it to dry hair, do you wash it afterwards, or just blow it dry?
My hair was always naturally blond, but when it started to get a little bit darker I started coloring it. It's been like 40 years now. Now I'm ready to let it grow out naturally. The roots coming in are dark with some gray in it. Will this method work for me as well? It's shoulder length, right now.
Also, which purple shampoo would be best for me at this time? I only have a little over an inch of dark roots, and the rest is the blond hair color. Do I go with the purple for blond, or for gray? (Since I want to let my hair grow out grey)

You can wash it after applying it to dry hair, but you don’t have to since it’s a conditioner and doesn’t contain any ammonia or peroxide!
And this will tone the blonde hair, so I wouldn’t think you would need to use a purple shampoo as well. But if you still feel like you need to use one for the blonde, Olaplex is my favorite! You shouldn’t need one for the gray, since it’s already an ashy color.

Doesn’t work for growing out gray hair, right?
Reddish brown 97% natural permanent hair dye in my hair & want my natural grey to grow out. I’m Considering henna, But I haven’t researched it yet.

I’ve seen them tint gray hair slightly, but technically it doesn’t have the negative ions present to attract the color molecules so it won’t work super well. I also wouldn’t recommend using henna, as most henna contains metallic salts and is a nightmare to remove! I’d suggest using semi and demi permanent color to blend the grays as they grow in ❤️

I would have a highlift color or platinum blonde and a toner with yellow remover...or just die it a silver gray afterwards...

Question, if I’m a 9N with highlights now, what color would suit me best if I’m just naturally a bit ashy darker with some grey coming in at about a 4 inch growth? TIA

It’s hard to say without seeing it. If you click the link in the description for the product you can see the color swatches and match what is closest to your natural!

How long does it take until you had your hair back to the platinum? And did it fade in any weird way or odd color? 🩷

Great questions! It faded wonderfully and I did it blonde again about a month after this
