Thanks for confirming what needs to be done. I just put up 70% UV shade cloths over my Dragon Fruit. My raised beds and my strawberry patch get this treatment every year. My citrus and even my pomegranate get flooded once or twice per week at this time of year. Got to keep them happy, happy so I am happy, happy. You would see heaters and heat lamps in my backyard in winter. Yes, I am up in the middle of the night to take care of my plants. I have grow lights inside for tender plants in winter.

Reminded me, got to cut out the water sprouts from the tangerine and calamondin. Toward the end of July, the apple (Golden Dorsett) gets spur pruned. the Brown Turkey fig leaves are getting wind burned (San Pedro upper canyon is a wind tunnel). One pineapple guava had to be surrounded in shade cloth to cut off most of the wind. As always, good teachings!

I live in Florida and conditions are totally different, but it's interesting to learn different methods of growing. What works in one place doesn't in another.

Thanks for the info! I was about to do mistake #1. I’ve got another question though, many of my trees have holes in the leaves (primarily middle of the leaf). What bug could be doing this and should I spray something? I got avocados, plums, apricots, peaches, nectarines passion fruit, mainly, with this issue.

Water like that daily or only when the soil calls for it?

I am in San Antonio Texas and just planted a mulberry and 2 pomegranates. I am not certain how long to water them for though. My figs in pots are show stress.

i live in dallas, so pretty similar. my potted figs leaves are falling off just how he described in his video. i thought it was over or underwater, but i guess not. theres many ways to water in the ground, but try putting your water hose on low flow & let it water the trees for like 1hr. then after a few days keep poking your finger in the dirt around the roots about 2-4 inches deep until the soil starts feeling dry. then repeat the watering process. then youll have a rough time frame on how many days inbetween watering

How are you plants holding up now with the prolonged heatwave down there? Will you post a video on it again?

Shade it! My dwarf namwah started to look rough, so I gave it extra shade. Now it's back to growing like crazy.

I planted a nectarine tree this spring. It was growing great until my lambs snapped it in half to eat the top foliage. Will the tree survive & grow back new leaves or should I dig it up and start a new tree in the fall?

it should be ok, just keep everything away from it until it recovers. as long as the graft is still there you should be ok

What about Anna apple trees at this time of year. The fruit is gone, but the leaves are turning crispy. She is about 3 years in the ground. I cannot remember if the same thing happened last year or not.
