My reaction exactly! I PRAY to God I NEVER have to shoot someone in self defense. I have already been involved in an incident where a guy threatened to kill me because I took "his" parking spot. Of course it was first come, first served, and I got there first. I said "excuse me" reached in my car, unboxed and loaded my gun, stuck it in my waist band where he could easily see it, and said "you were saying"? He jumped in his car and squealed tires most of the way out of the parking lot! (Damn crazies with guns!) 😁😆😍 Reboxed the gun and locked it in my trunk. Cops never came! 😃🤩😅

Thanks for the advice. On a sidenote: Our legal system needs a massive overhaul; we cannot allow the state to punish us like this anymore. Self defense and home defense should be perfectly legal; I understand if they need to investigate to "make sure" that it was indeed real defense and not an excuse for you to shoot someone, such as murdering an invited guest then lying that they invaded the property; but even when it is true self defense the state sometimes criminalizes you and puts you behind bars. It's absolutely atrocious, like we are supposed to be self-hating and let people kill us in our own homes. America is really eroding. This needs to stop.

And just because i shot someone and claim it was self defense dosent mean im telling the truth. The police are following the law, and its against the law to kill someone, with a few exceptions. And what rights are the police gonna violate? Your right to go home after shooting someone, when they still havent figured out if it was legal or not. And before you ever say anything about innocent until proven guilty, when you made the 911 call, you confessed to killing a man, making you guilty. @Hansen... this is why you purchase the USCCA membership (just like insurance). Collectively the group's fees enable a fund that can provide a member some of the best defense possible. There are no guarantees so if you go 10 years without using it, that $4k was spent with no direct return. If you happen to be involved in an incident you will thank your lucky stars you had all of this support because it would likely cost you upwards of $50K to secure your freedom and name.

I been learning and researching all the information I could find on this. From my understanding you should take every opportunity to get away from the threat. Make alot of noise by yelling get away loudly so others hear you try to make distance between yourself and attacker. If all else fails and you can’t safely disengage from the threat then pull and shoot abs don’t stop till threat is completely over. Immediately call 911 and say that you need police and ambulance to the scene. That you are the victim of a crime. Describe yourself and the clothing your wearing. Hang up the call and wait for police/ambulance arrival. Let police know you will cooperate with there questions but you need to have your attorney present first. Police are not your friends. It’s there job to arrest and charge you. Shut your mouth till attorney gives you advice. Your emotions will be out of control and you may be Saying things the police will twist to hurt your case. Great video btw. Thank you fellas

Good points although I have seen several videos like this one that recommend not saying you will talk to police once you talk to your attorney. Simply tell them you are calling your attorney. If you say you will talk to them after you talk to your attorney, but your attorney advises you not to answer police questions yet, the prosecution could bring that up during a trial and it could look really bad for you.

This video right here fills in all the gaps that will help somebody in a distressed situation stay calm and allow the legal system to do its job.. hopefully.
And to be honest, when you think about a situation like this where you could be sitting in jail for quite a while because you don't have the finances to a non-state attorney, this program / insurance policy is worth its weight and gold.

The 911 operator conveyed ZERO information to coordinate an appropriate response, all the cops were screaming over each other making communication totally uninteligible.......and 4 of them had guns on me while they were casually talking to the person trying to break in.

I discovered 2 friends after a homicide suicide via a gun. We didn't know there wasn't a third person involved until about a week later. I vaguely remember the detective interviewing me, and i felt like a robot. No emotion, but my heart was hammering away. I knew I wasn't guilty of anything, but I also hadn't absorbed that my friends were dead. I was still convinced that help could be given and my thoughts were all over the place. The detective was patient and helped me calm down as much as I could, then offered to call a crisis team out because I wasn't okay. I had to retrace the events from the last few days and was really confused because my thoughts weren't on what he was asking. My thoughts were on how this could have happened, why was no one helping them, what would happen to the dogs....
It's been a few years, and I still have problems remembering certain things.
My brain split into 2 that night. Part of me became a robot that went with the flow. The other part of me froze, and it feels like I'm still standing there waiting for my friends to get up.
If I ever am in a position to have to use lethal force to defend myself, I already know that I'm not going to be in any right state to give a statement. It's so important to not only seek a lawyer, but to follow up with mental health resources after. These situations are never easy, for the person defending themselves or the family of the attacker.
My worry is that, if I do have to use lethal force one day, I won't be able able forgive myself for taking someone else's life. That in and of itself is horrifying.
So for those who find themselves in this situation, seek a lawyer. Absolutely. But also don't be afraid to find a therapist or other mental health resources.

It was At least 14 officers on the scene, they arrived Around 9am while everyone was asleep and we're shouting for the person they were looking for but everyone was asleep and they wasted no time breaking the door down and invading the apartment. And It was just extremely intense cause nobody in the house knew what was going on and who they came to look for was not there. They were commanding us and shouting, they cuffed us all and sat us down, even a 4 year old child who was in this house was put into handcuffs. It was 4 of us in the house and we all had to comply with their directions. I honestly wont ever forget it cause it was a shock the way it happened unexpectedly with full force. But the main rule everyone in the house knew was to not say anything to them and if they ask for your basic information of who you are is the only time you say something to avoid having anything you said used against you or the people you have friendships with.

Here is an idea; police arrive, place the gun on the floor, sidestep twice, drop to the floor with your hands clasped to your chest; when approached say "My chest, my left arm hurts" and breathe rapidly as you do. You get to go to the ER and... if you ask the doctor nicely, probably get admitted for a heart evaluation. Doctors don't have to give a diagnosis to the police, nor do we have to comply with them (barring a warrant.). At the end of the day, a doctor was doing their due diligence in ensuring the health of their patient.
Hopefully, by the time you are discharged, your attorney should have handled the police and the judges, set-up interviews, and you get to go home without getting booked.

WHEN confronted, SHUT-UP and WAIT for your Attorney to get to you while YOU are being "EVALUATED" at the Hospital.
Do NOT waive your right to be examined.

This is not only going to make me second guess defending myself if someone breaks into my home but third and forth guess defending myself. I am going to go through the horror of defending myself and then be cuffed, booked, and sit in jail even for a short time? That is really going to come to mind before I decide to defend myself.

I've been noticing many sponsored ads on UA-cam lately where that aspect of membership is not mentioned. Training is important, but the legal defense is the most important part of your product. That is something that is very important to be forthcoming with so people can understand

I'm curious if police will confiscate ALL of your firearms or just the one that is used in a self defense situation if it happens at our home. The reason I ask is that if I'm in a self defense shooting, depending on the situation, retaliation (from friends, other gang members etc) could be a real concern and I don't want to be left without any firearms if I can help it. I'd be VERY hesitant telling police I had other firearms if asked!

This is brilliant@ 7:22 it's fact that humans are horrible and unreliable witnesses , at any time, especially under stress. I saw a video of a group of people that were taken to a park, with little situations set up, beforehand. The people were told to stroll through the park, along a walkway. At random, people jumped out of bushes, ran past, stopped to talk to them, etc, and at the end of the test, they were asked a serious of questions about what happened along the way, people they spoke to, what they wore, how tall, etc. And it was shocking how very little people were able to accurately recall, even in a low stress situation, even though they knew prior that they would be tested. Many of the people were entirely oblivious to normal visual clues.
