Have been scrolling thru diy shag cuts specifically for long curly wavy hair. I've always just combed all my hair down over my face while bending over and just cut straight across. So I'm going to try the pony tail way today. Thank you for the tutorial and the bit in the middle showing how you fixed a mistake.
I have curly hair and gave myself a cross between a mullet and a shag a few nights ago. I didn't use Brad's method, but one called the triple unicorn. Do a single unicorn cut using all your hair, then section at or just behind the ears - ear to ear - put the front part into another unicorn ponytail (all these are being done at the forehead, not further back), and cut a little more. If you have full hair and want more face framing, section about an inch in front of the ear over the head to same place at other side, bring this into another unicorn ponytail at the forehead, cut a little. This results in a curly shag with a shorter front. I like it, but don't examine it too closely: a hairdresser would criticise the layering of the 'mullet' part, which seems a bit eratic. But curls are very forgiving. It's taken ten years off my appearance.
Thank you! I appreciate the compliment. The bangs can be a little scary, for sure! But once you get used to cutting any hair, it makes it easier to do. ☺️
Looks great! You scared me there for a little while, but I’m really impressed. You inspired me to trim mine using the pigtails technique, and I’m pleased with the results. I got rid of the dry ends-it’s been more than a year since my first post covid cut. Now I feel empowered to do my own from now on.
I’m glad I could help. 😊 I was nervous the first time I cut my own hair too. It’s always satisfying when it works well and I bet it felt great to get those dead ends off.
It looks awesome! I have the very same kind of hair like you do. Just like it! Except I part mines on the side. I just cut mines parting it in 2 ponytails in the front over my shoulders and cut it straight because it was so long I couldn't handle it anymore. It had no shape and it was just blah. It's a little shorter now so I'm gonna wait till my hair grows out again to give this haircut a try. No layers right now just one length. I just needed it shorter past my shoulders so can get a break. But it grows quick so this will be the next haircut I will try. Thanks for sharing how you do it with curly hair like ours. Oh yeah I forgot.... I subscribed! 👍💕
Thanks for the compliment. ☺️ I've actually bounced between parting in the middle and on the side. My last haircut worked pretty well with a side part, but I haven't experimented with this one as much yet. I get wanting it short for a while. Long hair can be such a challenge! But I definitely suggest giving this a try once it grows out again. I thought it was pretty easy to do. Thanks for the subscribe ☺️
Thank you! It's definitely taken a long time to grow and there are definitely down sides to the length. But it suits me. I just subscribed to your channel.
Thanks for the compliment. And no worries. I love playing with lip colors, so I do that all the time. I've actually started linking them in the description box if you want to track that link. But for this one, it was the Wet n' Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit in the color Cedar Later. It is more a lipgloss, but I like it because it does leave a slight stain to the lips, so even when it rubs off, I still get some color. Hope that helps!
You're right. That's definitely true. I didn't realize how hard it would be with my long hair to do it straight up like that. When I did this for a second time, I did most of the cutting upside down. It helped keep the ponytail in the right place as well as keep the hair straighter.
Yes, just actually make sure you can follow instructions before doing this, unless you always cut your own curly hair like i do. I knew how to achieve these layers without tutuorials cause ive always cut my own hair.
I like to cut my own hair too. It gives me more control. I still like to watch tutorials, just for new ideas and to see what kind of results other people end up with. But following instructions is definitely important. It can be easy to mess things up.
I'm sorry you feel that way! Are there any suggestions you could make for the future? How would you suggest using elastics? It's too bad you didn't like the outcome. I love the way it turned out. But, hey, at least you know it's not the cut for you and not to do it in the future. ☺️ We're all entitled to our own opinions.

I would definitely suggest it! It's still pretty easy and gives it a nice shape. I hope it comes out well for you. ☺️

Gorgeous results! Thanks for trying this experiment for us. I might try it when my hair grows out longer.
Thank you! I would definitely suggest it. ☺️ I'm still loving my results even weeks later.
You’re so beautiful! My daughter used Brad’s video to cut my hair today and I love it. She was scared to do the bangs so maybe next time. 🥰

YOU HAVE MY HAIRTYPE! I’m so happy to see this
Parting is important guys
And like she said keep your head straight:)

Oh my goodness you have beautiful long hair. I'm not sure if I would grow my hair that long on my channel.

@@Linas_lovelylocks Thank you so mu I also subscribed as well.
Yes in fact it's one of the best cuts for wavy to curly hair
Really? I didn't know that! It doesn't surprise me though. Layered cuts tend to be good for textured hair and after seeing the results, I get it. ☺️
my god, it looks beautiful
Thank you so much!
Good question
this turned out so well! this is a random question, but what lipstick do you have on at the end?

When you cut the pony tail you also pulled it forward to cut it rather than pulling it up to cut it

I really love your sprayer, where did you get that?
I actually got it on Amazon! It's definitely been a game changer for me. I love it. Here's a link if you're curious. (amzn.to/3B9652J)
Yeah it works
I am learning to diy my own hair nice to watch someone that does not have a stack of makeup on🧑🦰🇦🇺

Beautiful
Thank you
gorgeous!
Thank you!
80's style bouncy curly hair 😍 I love it! ❤🤗 you can toss it over to the side, anyway it's beautiful and sexy!
Thank you! I love mixing it up. I do also love rocking the side part, and the deep side part. It's so versatile! Thanks for the compliment ☺️
So many better ways to do the hair with elastics, this was annoying to watch and the outcome, horrible!

It wasnt horrible le at all. You're blind
Don’t be a jerk

@@Linas_lovelylocks no problem. Even if it looked bad theres no reason to be rude but it honestly doesnt.
