Thank you very much RailBrothers greetings from the busy Northeast Corridor in Elizabeth, NJ. In my travels so far the NEC is the busiest here between NYC Metro and the Philadelphia Metro.
I have a question, what station on the NEC between Secaucus and Trenton, is where njt is fastest and where Amtrak is fastest and lastly where njt least stops at! Would you l please answer? Thanks :)!
Goto Jersey Avenue Station in New Brunswick ua-cam.com/video/muMDTUUyfcI/v-deo.html Jersey Ave is the only station along the NEC that is track level platform and it is basically what you are asking for fast trains and not many stop there.. Further down the line I believe closer to Trenton like at Hamilton or Princeton Junction trains go the fastest there but the locals all do make stops at those stations. Depending on when you go to Jersey Ave, if you go during the weekends no trains at all stop at the station so you do need to drive to the station to get there.
@@LibertyRailfan does Rahway have good pass by's? like i have seen 90-100 MPH Trains zoom past Rahway. I also want to know if Linden is a good railfanning place.
Wow - Not wasting any time! I like the meet of the two Sprinters - one on front, one on rear at 1:39 and the surprise of seeing a Genesis behind the ACS-64! Was it supplying power as well, or just along for the ride? As always, exciting video, Adam!
Thank you for watching Steve Ember greetings trackside along the Northeast Corridor at North Elizabeth. Yes depending on when visiting this location it can be non stop trains, especially during hour. The meet was cool, the Genesis was just along for the ride most likely an equipment move or power swap. For the Amtrak routes East of the Hudson River like all the trains that use the Empire Corridor its all diesel, besides the NEC then only other Amtrak connection to all the lines of New England would be up in Albany, NY via the Empire Corridor / Lake Shore Limited route. So I guess the NEC and Empire Corridor are the only two ways of getting Amtrak power to / from New England to the rest of the Amtrak system.
Two observations this might be rush hour. ( Not that many trains stop @N Elizabeth ). If this was recorded in October, i thought that there might be fall foliage
Thank you for watching smoothjazzaxe yes I believe this was around the mid to later part of rush hour wish I put times in like I do now. Schedules have changed and many more NJT trains now stop at North Elizabeth then what it used to be a few years back. As for the fall foliage, this was recorded around Oct 3rd/4th of 2016. Here in NJ lately now due changes in the climate the leaves start changing mid to late October, even into November. We have even started to see in some years now, snow accumulates on the trees with leaves still attached making it dangerous due to the excessive weight on the branches.
1:40 would this be better if an electric locomotive and a diesel locomotive join together for the Vermonter going to and from Washington DC, then in New Haven, CT, the ACS-64s uncouples with the P42DCs proceeding to Vermont, and the opposite
Thank you for watching CTRail1996 I think that was just Amtrak moving extra equipment. Really for trains such as the Vermonter maybe Amtrak should invest in some dual mode locomotives such as the ALP45DP that NJT and AMT use. Amtrak doesn't have to use the ALP45 but some sort of next generation dual mode would be cool then no need for switching motive power.
Liberty Railfan Productions just saying that's a great idea, that way without uncoupling the rest of Amfleet cars, the P42DC is revving, while the ACS-64 steps out of line
Why don't you tell Amtrak on their customer service page they take ideas and suggestions.. With Dual mode locos no need to have an ACS64 uncouple as they wouldn't be needed.. bit.ly/2iqxWWC
Awesome! I wish I could go to the NEC... fortunately, my dad and I both have Columbus Day off, and he said he'd like to see the train graveyard at Boonton, so maybe I could persuade him to take me somewhere on the NEC, too! Also, I see you were with Alan Smith, aka Milleniumforce, during this visit!
The Train graveyard is URHS go there as long as you have permission, were you able to go their open house 2 weekends ago. After visiting the Yard do in fact see if your dad will bring you to the NEC you'll enjoy it.. Yup I was at North Elizabeth station with Alan as I was invited to be with him..
BikerBoyNJ I know Whippany is having a few events and the M&E also is having the Polar Express this year.. It would be way better to see the yard / collection at Whippany rather then go to the Boonton yard unless you know someone who might let you into the yard.
Liberty Railfan Productions I remember going to Whippany a lot when I was younger. In fact, I'd say that Whippany, along with the Carlstadt model railroad museum (I forgot what it was called) are the two places that got me into railfanning. But yeah, maybe I could stop in there one of these days...
Thank you for watching Kyle and yes you see the NEC closer to home for me fast and many trains. I've been to a handful of places along the NEC so far, a decent plat place is Perryville, MD but warned significantly fewer trains then what's around the greater NYC area. Although at Perryville you may be able to see some okay NS freight action on the NEC going over the Susquehanna River.
Thank you for watching Greater Boston Railfanning, yup always pays to have the scanner never know what one could miss when not having one. Another UA-camr thought it was about me but at this station is around milepost 13 that call was for 4.8 which is around the portal bridge / Secaucus NJ area of the line.
@@LibertyRailfan why would someone think that call was about you? Is it considered "trespassing" if you are on the platform taking videos? I guess technically it can be if you don't have intentions of actually riding the trains...but they don't know that.
@@danielwaldron2635 if you are referring to the other UA-camr that was trying to claim I was trespassing, some are jealous, some think they are the railfan UA-cam police, or perhaps it was just that they aren't familiar with the area and didn't hear that it was a for different milepost than I was at.
