Arguably it's more of a problem with HOI4 DLCs and how power creep has made countries with their own DLCs these days be extremely overpowered. Oh what's that? Argentina needs a DLC, well, how about we give them funny moustache man and core Germany? Denmark is small and lasted only 6 hours. What if we make it a monarchy so that it can core all of Scandinavia? So on and so forth...
You should see how Finland truly performed in the winter war. I thought the buffs they got were too much but the buffs really do the best they can to balance the reality of how the Finns performed in real life and how they'll perform with the games mechanic limitations
Finland really is crazy with how op it can be. I think it's easily one of the best minor nations in hoi4. And Democratic Finland with Space Marines is pretty fun to watch, just the utter chaos that can be created by the player just going down the focus tree.
The good thing about the Nordic focus tree is mutual. So you can just complete the first one and Norway can complete another while the Danes work on the industry focuses. It's nice to have such a unique mechanic imo.
you should play a major and build an airforce with cas and space marines using spgs, you do so much damage. you need a good enough industry to be able to build tanks and planes tho
Btw in the Norden League focuses there is one that gives you weekly manpower I think it’s either 500 or 800. But it’s something especially since the Nordics need it.
My only pet peeve with Finland is that in game we lose Petsamo in white peace with soviets. We lost that in real life after kicking germans out during Lappland War.
funny thing is that åland is considered more swedish than finnish, the people there talk swedish and are usually rude to finnish speakers. if åland got occupied during war it wouldn't put the navy into a good light but i don't think the government would collapse because of that.
