That's a fine subject, Jon. Being big and imposing, it sort of reminded me of the place depicted in the movie, Shawshank Redemption. Looking forward to part two.
Hi Jon, greatly enjoyed this over a breakfast of lime marmalade and Irish breakfast tea! It struck me the subject is more complex than Monet’s Rouen cathedral facade! Looking up at the building makes for an Olympian composition and it comes off very well. Interesting comments about exposure to the sun even when there is grey cloud overhead, often one only becomes aware too late to stop burning. I was bemused by the barbed wire entanglement of the fence - was it there to keep the pupils in or the locals out? Or Both? On a recent visit to Shrewsbury, where there were medieval gated bridges, the local joke was: “The English bridge to keep the English out, the Welsh bridge to keep the Welsh out and the one way system to keep the inhabitat acts out!” I will be interested to see if you keep the fence and look forward to part two.
Thank you Ian! I look forward to your feedback 😃 As you’ve probably heard, we have a terrible gun violence problem here in the US. The barbed wire fence is to keep people out. Please pray that we can come together and take action - high capacity guns made for war are much too easy get here and to use against the innocent. The false narrative that ‘good guys with guns’ and hardening schools will solve this crisis is resulting in tragedy after tragedy. I’m not anti-gun - I don’t want anyone fearing we are going to take away their hunting rifles - but people need to give up weapons of war to protect our kids.
Beautiful architecture to paint. I miss Seattle
