This song is actually sad and creepy at the same time.
Almost sounds as if the horde are mockingly lamenting at the survivors' sorrow and anguish.
Daniel Lancelin and the death of a friend...
True
Bill...
The one with the green hat
Gave Francis witty backchat
The leader,the smoker, the wise
The man the zombies despise
He made the infected eat lead
And then he left himself 4 dead...
I see what you did there and I love it
I love ur comment, i miss bill

So... are you expecting any family?
let's kick some butt
*Well thanks, man!*
I love that it transitions into the L4D2 banjo signifying that while the L4D1 survivors might be at the end of their journey, there's another one that's just beginning.
Tofu z I have a theory that The Sacrifice coincides with Dead Center, which is why they start the same and it ends with the banjos.
@@waycnf7229 I think so too.
I like how choir is giving off the feeling that it’s a little more serious now and that one of these survivors aren’t going to make it to the end 🧐😁
@Goosenine - it's more of a "bridge" between Dead Center and Dark Carnival while at the same time being a processor to The Sacrifice. IIrc while The Sacrifice was happening Dead Center was also happening at the same time.
That L4D2 Banjo will never end Since The Survivor Enjoying the Fight more than the Previous Survivors. This New Survivor Spirits will never Extinguish.
The Scare just become Brave and The Brave will become a Madness.
i like how it sounds nothing like the l4d(2) soundtrack at all and makes you feel uneasy, then sorta just gives you a shoulder tap back into the fact that theres still a task at hand
SevvyH3 is the sacrifice the conclusion to left 4 dead?
full armor mrnewtypex3RX-0 Yes, the sacrifice then links up to L4D2 which is why at the end, the banjo starts playing
Here is your sign :( no left 4 dead 3
@Goaty and so is the passing
This never fails to give me goosebumps. Valve found a way to connect L4D1 and L4D2 flawlessly - the ending of The Sacrifice being the beginning of Dead Center.
Agree.
B- Bill? but, what about the island plan?! and living it out? DAMN IT!
+InsaneCraziness The Bill's death:(
BILL NO!!! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN LOUIS!!!!!!... it should have been louis...
@@littlemac4572 I know that's what Francis says but in my opinion it should've been zoey 😂
Billie Eyelash get rid of the sexy ass and BADASS gamer chick or sacrifice a optimistic black guy... it would be better if I could sacrifice Rochelle instead
@@littlemac4572 I think if Bill wasn't able to get rid of himself he'd have Francis sacrifice instead. Louis is injured, and without Zoey *There goes repopulating the earth*
In my opinion the most sad soundtrack.
+Ragnar S. more like your last stand for the game
+Emperor Skywarp eerie is the keyword here. feels like you be watching by singing ghost of all those who vanquish by the onslaught of the ravage horde.
+Emperor Skywarp more like your last minutes with one of your friends
ever heard L4D main theme?
@@TheLocsEwok107 you're a time traveler

Living 💀
This literally sends chills down my spine. Anyone agree?
Nik the Demon agree
i agree
Same
Bill... I feel terrible for him... He was an elder, having to fight zombies....... His last words were, "HHWUT?!"
lol no
XD
I mean he did get a few words out after that
Defibrillator him

This is sad and bloody creepy at the same time.
Goodbye Bill William Overbeck and Jim French.
“WE CANT JUST LEAVE HIM DOWN THERE! BILL! COVER ME IM GOING AFTER HIM!”
“Francis...”
“I SAID COVER ME!”
“Francis! He’s gone.”
“No. He’s Still alive. Bill....”

When you see the dead by daylight dlc with Bill and realize Francis was right-
This made me cry
Indeed. You can sense the tiredness of the song, which tells you that death is watching in this campaign. You can sense that the end of their travel is near. The survivors are almost safe but they'll have to pay a fee for that; Bill. Good job Valve, they did great making this DLC.
I love this one. It really gives that same sense given by the poster message: "It's your funeral." Then that same music kicks in at the end, and you know you've got yourself a long road ahead...
At the end of this campaign when I played for the first time (on single player too) I'm pretty sure Zoey and I both shouted NOOOO. Although I was the idiot yelling at my computer screen
You mean yelling "BILL!!!!!"?
And Zoey was the idiot yelling at a microphone
one word comes to mind when I hear this
eerie
I feel ya.
This theme is sad because you know somebody will die for his friends :''(
Marvin Crazy or her friends
Marvin Crazy or his friends
0:50 Chills.. The whole song except for the ending is really somber and deppressing, it works on the fact that you've seen the trailer and this is the end for one of the Survivors; you're not getting away with this one.
The end is more like they don't have time to waste so they jump to action
@@TheFoxInTaleAFC it always makes me think that no matter where they go the infection will follow. In every L4D2 song theres always that bit at the end
@@scouttf2gaming807 well l4d1 also has those bit too but with a different instrument for each campaign
1:16 that transition perfectly shows how left 4 dead’s songs can invoke emotions in you. The feeling of loss and hopelessness realizing the original survivors are not invincible and down a member, only out of nowhere another group of survivors come to carry the torch, hope and will to fight back in their spirits
The Passing was one of the greatest crossovers that I ever witnessed in my childhood, that feeling of killing all the tanks and finally avenging Bill.
Even using his AK47 on the ground, man those are the times
@@Red_Adanac m16
@@YourMomsCar3650 thanks for the correction~!
Oh man! Can't agree more!
that was very heroic. it also reminds me when i was playing with friends at the parish finale, right when 'skin on our teeth' started playing. one person got incapped but my friends were like 'there's nothing we can do, leave him'. but then i revived him. he was limping so i gave him adrenaline and protected him. then we all made it to the chopper alive, no one left behind.
I tried to do it but i died instead of Coach and then my team berated me for trying to be a hero T•T
as our 4 heroes go to their final destination they find unexpected turns happen. as they find a dead end one must do it one must "SACRIFICE"
"Pills here!"
-Bill Overbeck
This track always gave me the sudden feeling of dread in my heart. That hope is dying out at every resource and every corner regardless of what I do or what i fix. The light just grows more dimmer and the warmth feels like death's cold hands just slowly reach up my back to take me away to God knows what.
Ps i miss Bill, great man he was.
This song shows the mourning of Bill's Passing, and then at 1:14 is reminding the survivors, "We still need to escape"
Actually like some people on the comment section pointed out: the banjos may actually be referencing the L4D2 survivors, Implying that while the L4D1 survivors's journey was about to end, another one was about to start.
I like to think that when the banjo kicks in is when Dead Center campaign starts, and that both the Sacrifice and Dead Center happens at the same time.
"Even being in a war doesn't prepare you for this."
SHADDAP YA GODDAMN BIRDS!!!!!
- Bill
If Zoey sacrifices herself...
Humanity is boned
lmao
It’s only the east coast. The rest of the world is still alive dumbass.
Ivan Gutierrez but its spreading
the left 4 dead fan That's why they were containing it within the East Coast.
xxphoeniixx xx hey if u have twitter follow me its @ashvsevilfan and ill show u my iseas incase they make left 4 dead 3 and also im gonna try to send them to valve
This is both sad and creepy at the same time
But 1:17 Saved my life
The chorus that sung this is amazing
"Zoey... You still mad?"
"Those people still DEAD?"
SuperMarioFan123311 and that’s how zoey became a toxic gamer girl
Wow 12 years
Dear God this gives me the chills like no other.
1:16 rip hedphones
Louis: "We're getting so close, I can already smell the salt water."
Francis: "I think those are Bill's tears."
Bill: "I'll give you something to cry about, Francis."
I love this theme. Makes you feel empty. No more hope. You're all that's left.
Left 4 dead.
Left 3 dead 1 :c
I like how it sounds like the original theme music, only like much more tired. It does a good job of showing you something bad's going to happen.
Reminds me of the time when everyone of my friends was on low heath on Dark Carnival finale except for me we were on the last Tank,Heh,I was in the chopper I saw a Tank heading behind them while they were limping to the chopper,Took adrenaline, ran behind them,Got close to the Tank,Smashed a molotov on him......he punched me next to some fire works,I was incapped.I shot the fire works.Watching my teamates get o the chopper.....I burned I went down with the tank.
here we got a Bill 2 guys.
Why d u have to run up to the tank to set on fire. Especially with adrenaline? What
I salute you
In every Sacrifice game,
If you play as Bill.
YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO
Its customary
If you thought this was depressing, just read the comic
That why I always pick from time to time the bill ghost/spirit skin mod ,as if bill is still watching over them when playing custom maps with them being the team.and finally when once everything is done and they are at the boat to the island that will make them live the rest of there day in peace , bill does a final salute to them and they does too and he dissapear in a white smoke going up as the land ,in there own paradise as well on the island ,away from madness, terror, and pain...
Rest in peace Bill and rest in peace Jim French.
And rest in peace to everyone who died playing this great series of game.
How they incorporated the screeching sound of the train's brakes grinding to a hault at the beginning gives the music more of that surreal, erie vibe to it.
They truly stopped at the end of the line
When you join the sacrifice campaign
And then his hat went through an indescribable portal through aparture science, then his hat went through another dimension in TF2...
Valve backstory...
The transition here is amazing. It really feels like it's pulling you out of purgatory into real life.
man ellis is my idol
I can only imagine how the first people to play this campaign felt
The way they used vocals that sound like mourning is just...
Rest in Peace Mr. French. Rest in Peace.
Boys : Huh Bill died, well that's bad I guess
Men : *Bill... No... Why you did that... Bill?...*
so beauriful
i used to always love the ending for the campaign intros.... but this one killed it
bill... we miss you
i love this music
chales ya me puse sad
This OST breaks my heart :(
by the gods, amazing poetry
Bills gone (crab rave)
2020: coffin dance
god rest William Overbeck
Kinda sad, that someone HAS to sacrifice themselves...
And keep in mind, that you have to send the one that has:
a) the most health
b) adrenaline shot
And the most importantly, The one who played as Bill.
This theme song makes me cry a little.
Man... i imagine walking on the beach on a grey overcast day on california beaches while fire rages in the city playing this. Blasting zombies and stopping for a smoke... RIP JIM FRENCH
The Left 4 Dead 1 survivors would all go to the bridge, they would think their journey is finally over but a generator malfunctions. One must sacrifice themselves for the others, canonically the person who sacrifices is Bill, the elderly veteran. L4D2, The passing. We meet the L4D1 Survivors and get down there to fuel the generators so they can lower the bridge for us and we can escape with the car. Near the generator that bill died at,you can find his body and a M16 laying on his stomach that you can grab. They could not connect the 2 games any better.
The choral voices give the effect as if a tragedy is going to happen. I love L4D(2)!
It had some left4dead2 ost in it as well because it is very close to the 4 weeks later
RIP Bill, Im gonna miss that badass and outstanding old man. T_T
A chilling omen of death, this song.
Bill = Billy Mays Of L4D2...Plain Epic and forever remembered
Great ! :D
*I want this to play in my funeral, it will be a dream*
The other L4D songs(both games) seem to me like they give off a fairly creepy vibe, but are still fun to listen to. This song, however, makes the situation feel absolutely helpless and says "You are going to die" which is pretty appropriate considering the circumstances.
We miss you Bill..
This music really gives the feeling something really horrible is about to happen
When I played the passing on the final part, I picked Bill's M16 and got the whole way through with it :')
groovy
Rest in piece to the va of Bill.
*dont worry bill is still alive*
In memory of Bill
This creeped me and my friends out the first time we played this.
@Spenchjerta Bill'd sacrifice a million people to keep the others safe...he'd sacrifice HIMSELF!
RIP Bill!
In memorie bill 😭🤧☠️
Bill was a darn lieutenant that died because he needded a achievement to become better and uhh skilled
R.I.P Bill you will be remembered
"Bill!!-- it should have been louis!" -francis😂😂
Everyone: poor bill *in tears*
The three tanks:WE GOT HIM!
Rip old man
Welcome to Dead By Daylight Bill
that end is epic
another good franchise character six feet under going out like a true badass
R.I.P. old man :C
My fav.
Ok
angels that sing, calling the survivor to heaven!
R.I.P BILL
@Skaterptater No... Bill wanted to live on and see Zoey, Louis and even Francis live and make it to the island. He says so in the comic that all he wanted was their happiness. He was old and his time drew near either way. Rest in peace, Bill
Francis: Holy shit did that truck have a head on collision with a boat? Shit iwoulda liked to of seen that.
Hey, Dont you notice how in game the sounds arent creepy but just listening to it by itself is scary
some, but I got incapacitated. Laying on the ground, I watched the Tank start to run off to the chopper, towards the other two. At about 3 seconds of health left, I saw that the kid was still alive. And that made my death worth it. I could die in peace. That is, if the kid hadn't defibrilated me. I got up, picked up my machete, and together we limped to the chopper where we saw our buddies standing over the Tank corpse. All parties escaped in one piece. It was miraculous.
This theme fits bill's death perfectly
