I’m an academy coach in the US. All US soccer has done is look at the kids in Europe who play soccer every day and how good they are at building from the back. What coaches don’t realize is that kids in America play a ton of other sports and have never focused on building out the back until the previous 10ish years. So the older players and players who have only played in the US are USELESS at build up play. It will change in the next 5 years but it’s frustrating.
Mexico is screwed because CONCACAF is so so bad these days. Mexico has the players to be dangerous playing counter, its just the clubs in qualification are so terrible that you can't give the ball away to them. So you end up playing a low budget tiki-taka style, where there isn't any forward players adept at unlocking a park the bus defense. Eventually the other team wins a corner and scores on that. Here is what's going to happen to Mexico. Argentina will let you play counter, and Poland might as well. You are gonna to look real quality and maybe snatch 2-4 pts by the end of round 2. Ohh MEXICO looks good will be the talk. All they need is a point against the Saudis! Remember when I said in the San Marino twitch stream that the US might be screwed in the World Cup because Greg might as well do a dumb play and put Pulisic as center back? At this point I might as well believe that sentiment because anything is better than Mr. Not-so-long Aaran Long. Well at least US and England can hold hands as they walk out of group stage.
I’m sorry but as bad as England have been over the nations league campaign, I just can’t see them losing to Iran or Wales. We saw that the England of the last few years is still there in that draw vs Germany which they should of won if not for a terrible mistake from the keeper. They also drew with Germany and Italy in the first games which I can’t see Wales or Iran ever doing. This isn’t the Wales of 2016 when they reached the euro semi finals, they’ve been getting progressively worse each year and with their only top players Ramsey and a Bale completely done at the highest level. I personally think they are the worst in the group and will finish last with Iran taking 3rd. England on player should be cruising through this group but it’s hardly ever that simple at major tournaments but they and the US should both qualify, I just don’t know in what order
@@oracle8589 Honestly, because Vietnam is not in WC this year I am rooting for England like I did for like 3 world cups, but honestly Southgate is still playing Maguire even though he is only good in a back 3 or 5, and some players like Ivan Toney, Jaden Sancho and all that are still put on the bench or not even called up at all. Wasting potential speedy players that counters very well to others, Southgate really doesn't know what to do when opponents have a tactic change and it costed them the Group A spot of Nations League. I think Wales or Iran can make an upset from England and the US' terrible form
@@SylvieTheCuteSylveon I agree with you on Southgate and about his lack of tactical awareness but I will say that it is very hard for him to please everyone who are asking for such and such to be playing when England have arguably the greatest depth in international football after France, they’re are going to be great players that just won’t be going to the World Cup unfortunately. You also have to take into account the morale of the team and that it can benefit you greatly to have players like Conor Coady who may not be as skilled as guys like Tomori, Stones or White but is an excellent personality to have around the place and is not unhappy if he doesn’t play. That is one of the reasons he refuses to call up Madison despite him having the best stats this year among the creative midfielders. For sure they can cause an upset and it wouldn’t surprise me at all but they would have to play the game of their lives and England would have to play one of their worst. I also think the US have enough quality in Pulisic and Reyna to not be at their best but still get a result against them because that extra bit of quality can make a huge difference in the big moments. Should be an exciting group tho, it’s a hard one to predict
The worst part is that it’s a double edged sword, if the US somehow does really well at World Cup then he’s not getting the boot and we’ll have to suffer with this shit for at least another year

As a Welsh guy, I really really hope you are correct. We in Wales aren't bothered about our run into this tournament, because like Euro 2016 and 2020, its completely irrelevant. It's a clean slate once a tournament starts and whats happened in previous matches means nothing.
I’ve never understood the optimism of some Americans about this World Cup. The team is very inexperienced, most players never played a WC, and very very young. Not the usual type of team that does well in this tournament. I believe though that you guys can have some hope for the future. This generation is very very talented, with some more age and experience, and playing at home, I think the USMNT can maybe have their best WC run since 1930 in 2026. Let’s see
You articulated my thoughts perfectly. GB's arrogance does not help. He thinks it's confidence...but he is a fool based on what he has shown as far as results or improvement or learning from his mistakes. If we lose the first game, any chance of advancing is done.
I've played more competitive and intense matches in my corporate league than the shambles the USMNT is capable of producing. It's all pass-pass-pass-get to the 18- and then back-pass to begin the cycle all over again. Zero actual understanding of what to do in the final-third and no coach seems to understand that you actually have to put it in the net in order to win.
I love this channel, finally found a good football channel in this platform and never could've thought that I would be rejoiced to see any channel's new upload like in childhood again
i noticed this happens a lot with us soccer. always have a horrible coach a lot of them haven’t coach a team of this caliber so instead of playing by the players strength they are to incompetent they want to force a player to play by their system.
This Japanese Football team plays alot like their Rugby team, balls to the wall with fluid high tempo, when they pull it off its an absolute marvel to witness.
I'm US fan. Honestly, I don't even think that the US can't even beat those teams. If I was asked that in March or April I was say yes to a certain extent, but at least make it an interesting and fun to watch. But now, oh heavens no. I knew hiring him as the Manager was a bad idea. Yes, we did qualify for the World Cup and won the Gold Cup with him but he's not very consistent on the tactical style for the US. Look I know the defensive formation works for England but USNMT is known for attacking style play that's always played in our favor 80% of the time.
As a Mexican fan, I don’t think Mexico will make it out of the group stage either, honestly I believe USA has a better chance, but this year I really hope Argentina win it because Messi deserves it
There's a manager in Brazil's top tier that actually uses that "playing out of the defense" style, except he's stuck with Felipe "dropkick in a World Cup match" Melo. They just got flipped over by Atlético Goianiense using that strategy, too.
Idk why but it makes me happy to see the USMNT struggle.....just feel like they deserve it for their organisation plus I like seeing their fans frustrated 😅

@@JustAnotherUA-camCommenter The coach, Tata Martino, has been getting the brunt of the blame for the really bad performances as of late
@@AceTrainerRaf wdym? they're not doing that bad
@@JustAnotherUA-camCommenter oh they are doing really bad 😂😂😂
They just tied 1-1 with Wales today
I like the cut of your jib, sir. Glad I found this channel.
From: A pissed off American
They should make Ted lasso head coach of USMNT
Facts
The worst part is that it’s a double edged sword, if the US somehow does really well at World Cup then he’s not getting the boot and we’ll have to suffer with this shit for at least another year
Clear presentation about what is wrong in Portugal, that team quality is high class but the coach decides to put everyone asleep
As a Mexican I want to apologize to USA. We’re so bad y’all have beat us 3 times making it look like Gregg look really good. Had we been better he would have been sacked now. Now we just both suck 😢
Damn, I just thought about this and it's so true. Tata and Greg are brothers of failure right now.
As a Welsh guy, I really really hope you are correct. We in Wales aren't bothered about our run into this tournament, because like Euro 2016 and 2020, its completely irrelevant. It's a clean slate once a tournament starts and whats happened in previous matches means nothing.
As an American who is gonna suffer from a heart attack watching my national team, just beat England and get this over with.
@@anthonylong9067 As long a we all beat England, we have a chance.
Yes, fortunately for you and your country he is pretty spot on.
Maqwell : United States are finishing 4th me : england are finishing 3rd
Exactly 💯
Honestly bro you been the best footballer content in my opinion bro keep it going bro fr.
This is the most talented group of soccer players we've ever had. Could you imagine what a good coach could do with them
You must be joking!
loved the blue lock reference there. So excited for it to come out.
Let’s see
This Video is absolute Pain and I'm agreeing with what you're saying Maqwell. We're gonna crash out of the Group Stage before England does.
The Blue Lock and Ao Ashi references cracked me up
You articulated my thoughts perfectly.
Because of this video, Berhalter will go on to win the 2022 World Cup just to prove Maxwell wrong
As an Australian, I just want to experience Craig Goodwin on Fire against the world
Nightmare scenario: we fluke our way to the round of 16 on four points and Gregg gets four more years
Group B is actually a meme
Mate even Iran had more chances qualify on Knockout stages than USA and England national team combine
you doubted man united, I won't be surprised when usa 2-0's england
i mean i hope this video ages horribly
I love this channel, finally found a good football channel in this platform and never could've thought that I would be rejoiced to see any channel's new upload like in childhood again
means a lot man :)
Don't underestimate Iran. They beat Uruguays 1st team and drew with Senegals 1st team. They won't go down easy.
This past window just confirmed for the 1000th time that Gregg is just holding this team back
It’s like kid are smarter than their parents, but this time parents are stubborn.
i noticed this happens a lot with us soccer. always have a horrible coach a lot of them haven’t coach a team of this caliber so instead of playing by the players strength they are to incompetent they want to force a player to play by their system.
I hope this team turns it around real fast.
Always cheer for the USMNT at world cups for some reason, hope they sort their shit out
I’d like to see Josh Sargent at the WC for the US
He’s been pretty damn good for Norwich so far
I knew we were screwed when they revealed the jerseys.
This aged well.
Not really USA still sucks
So they made it to the round of 16 in the still bad?
Officially he has to call himself a fraud😂😂😂
I guess we hit that 5% lol by some miracle
He's going to lose his collective shit if we beat the odds and go all the way.
Yakuza memes+football = match made in heaven
This Japanese Football team plays alot like their Rugby team, balls to the wall with fluid high tempo, when they pull it off its an absolute marvel to witness.
@Vladorac Its by far the toughest group in the tournament, Hopefully you guys pull through!!!
Spot on. Wish commentators would call it like it is
I Hope the U.S. can find some way to score goals and find more attacking strategies
And there are still US fans that will say, if they get through their group, they would beat Senegal or The Netherlands. Delusional.
Dont write off Ecuador though
Maqwell is another level of hilarious
Speaking as a Dutchman, the cure could be to appoint Louis van Gaal... after the World Cup, that is.
If Wales wins the group I will order a USMNT and Three Lions kits just to burn both
Don't underestimate Wales, they've massively punched above their weight in recent years.
Don't do it man, you could instead give them to unfortunate kids 😢
As an Englishman itd be cool to see wales do some cool shit
Yeah I’m starting to feel the same Maqwell, I think we’ll finish last in our group unfortunately. Hope I’m surprised at the end of the group stage.

It’s funny cause 2014 was supposed to be a stepping stone… and then we didn’t qualify for the World Cup in 2018…
Lets laugh at the USMNT together😂😂😂😂
And England men's team
😂
That’s what happens when you hire a coach who got fired in the second league of Sweden
