It’s a bit of a shame in the bonus features they didn’t include the original animated promo for Valis. I imagine there may have been legal rights with the animation studio. 🤷♂️ There was also a version of Valis 2 that was more graphic and had different story elements in the cinematic segments that existed on the MSX, which I’m surprised was passed over here.
I agree that had the Initial collection included the PC Engine version of Valis IV, and Syd of Valis games, along with the 3 Valis games we got initially, that would have been the ideal Valis collection for me (even if that meant paying a little more for it (within reason)). Even so, I'll still get the second Valis collection physically (like I did the first one), even if I'll only play 2 of the 4 games on it.
I commented this in another video, but I got the collectors edition from AmiAmi, and man what a let down, no manual, no cd ost, only a figurine that you need to build and paint for yourself, is mot even cut properly, and was a change made in the last minute, great video dude!!!

Japanese companies know how to milk fans. They won’t do one collection for 30 bucks, oh no, they’ll do two for 50 bucks each. Glad that I still have this from PS Plus and can play it on my beautiful Oled Vita. Everything on one cartridge for 40 bucks would’ve been acceptable.

Big disappointment they didn't include valis 2 from msx or the sharp version it's much better than the valis 2 we received for the turbo grafx it even had different story
here's hoping they'll do this collection like they did the last and you can do the games separately. i'd love to get part 4, but the rest seems like a waste for for me with two being the same games from the first collection, but with a lil difference. and that last one....looks like something you'd want to play if you are on mushrooms.
Well, the reason why these packages exist (at least the first and the now confirmed 3rd one) was a Japanese Crowdfunding campaign Edia held. (Basically they wanted to gauge interest if people wanted these collections or not, clearly people did and crowdfunded them). So to me, it’s less of a “scam” and more of a, well this is basically what Japanese fans wanted situation. (Edia holds all the rights to all 4 of the main Valis games and their ports)

Crowdfunding is literally a case of you get what you invest in (or what others invest in), so ya didn’t like it, its not Edia’s issue or the backer’s issue either. They wanted it, so they got it
I hate how limited run has a time frame to order games its soo stupid and how long its taking me to get my 1st game from limited run. Do you order from limited run Jordan? No U.S TurboGrafx CD versions of Valis 2 & 3 on the first collection, either! That decision makes 0 sense to me. These games already had english text + dub!?
Having played all them to completion back in the day, except fot the MSX version because it was too damn cryptic and difficult (specially in a BW tv, which is what we had), I can say Valis IV is ok, but has some roadblocks, specially the ascension where you will run out of time. Syd of Valis is pure crap. The control is so slippery than in certain moments you will be just bouncing back and forth completely out of control. Valis on the Genesis is way better than the original versions on japanese computers and an ok game per se. The MSX version is just a rarity nowadays. It was as unplayable back in the day as it is today. To me, as a Valis fan, this idea of splitting the series into parts to get your money is just a rip-off.
This is lame. They put hold the 4th one back to put on this ridiculous collection. 4 would be the only reason I'd even buy this. Syd looks alright but they should've put 4 on the first collection and called it a day.
