As a huge Michael Jackson fan I always looked at Janet as Michaels little sister but as I got older I realized she is a legend and genius in her own right.
I got to see her in tour this year, Amazing show.

Correction: Janet has 34 Billboard Awards. They only look at the awards earned during the telecast. But amongst all of the Billboard awarding system, she has 34, second only to Michael's 40.

It is such a coincidence you posted this video, I just got done watching Janet music videos and interview! I love Janet. It would be such an honor to attend a concert and get to meet her. My #1 favorite female artist. I agree with you that Janet had one of the most beautiful smiles. Like you, as a small child, I loved dance. Janet's 90s eras were my favorite. I cannot choose between the Janet or Velvet rope eras, they are both amazing. She was serving looks in these eras. The superbowl issue wasn't as big of a deal as the media made it out out to be. What an great video you put together for Miss Jackson. Love it.

Janets movements looked that good because she is completely ripped. Thats helpful. Her core strength is really strong and she never opens in a really a really wide second position. Remember, she's a singer. She's got to maintain her posture so she can sing well and cant compress her ribs or diaphragm and also she has backup who don't have to sing while they dance. Try to dance like her while singing well. Then you'll get the idea of why she moves the way she does. Michael was the same way.

An iconic legend she is indeed. I love how you left the vulnerable moment of you speaking about how dance impacts you and others. It is most certainly one of the best forms of therapy and this is why representation is so important

Exactly she is OUR QUEEN OF POP! and ain't nothing changing over here * Nene Leakes voice * she has actual talent, was writing her songs, and her dancing was and still is untouchable, her and Michael have been studied by multiple artists for their dancing for years. Had that Superbowl situation not happened she would've broken her own records that have yet to be broken and every single album would have gone double platinum.

And I saw JANET in B'ham, AL this past May for the "Together Again Tour," and she is untouchable! She "ATE" from the Intro 2the Outro!

Great job honoring the ICON. I teared up when you talked about Janet's dancing and the influence she has on the art. NO other artist, other than Michael stood 10 toes down in dance than those two. It's sad to see the new generation of dancers and artists always twerking. Your side by side video comparisons was awesome. Again, great job.

Janet Jackson has sold over 160 million records world wide and her net worth has gone up to 360 million. She is only black artist male or female to have four number one albums in four consecutive decades, only black female artist to have a number one album in four consecutive decades. Once she drops her newest album she'll sit alone with being the only artist male or female of any nationality to have a number one album in five consecutive decades . A number one single will bump her to the only artist to have a number one single in five consecutive decades. Currently the only artist to have 7 top five singles off one album (four of them number one). She was the first female artist to have four back to back number one albums. She is the only artist to have a top 10 hit on more than one chart at a time. She holds the top two longest running singles of the Jackson's "That's the way love goes' & 'All For you." For those that don't believe me Google is your friend. The Janet Jackson has 32 billboard records (the most of any artist) & is the most awarded artist alive.

THANK YOU for this video of how Iconic and influential Janet Jackson is in the music and entertainment industry. I have been a fan of hers and watched her career unfold since the 70's when she appeared on Talk shows with her brothers and on The Jackson's Television Variety Show. I have all of her Album's. Even the first 2 before Control 😊. Two other mile stones Janet has accomplished are that she has had #1 Album's in each of the last 4 decades , and she is the ONLY Artist in HISTORY to have Grammy nominations in 5 music genre's after being nominated for Best Female " Rock " vocal performance for her song Black Cat which she wrote the lyrics and guitar riffs. Janet is truly PHENOMENAL !

BTW I have another fact😂❤ Madonna came out in 1982 too but Madonna had the advantage but people forget that Janet was the highest selling black female in 1982, people call her debut a "Flop" but it's so off base🥹 "Janet Jackson" was a success and "We" as a people in general can't let that record be overlooked 😊❤

Janet is it! No one else mesures up. Just looking at the side by side comparisons of inspireds. I saw: not completed moves, non percision and not attempting to complete moves and lack of energy and stamina. Copying her moves is only the start of trying to honor or outdo Our The Janet, shes only comprable to Michael if you like that sorta thing. But to me Janet from Penny has always been her own person and Michael too. As an 80s kid we had to realize Michael had been a jackson 5ver because of a rap song that had a sample and we realized perfectly/solidly that she was related to Michael around the time she left Different Strokes and we were wondering where Willis girlfriend went and then later saw her Control.... 😃

*_THE FOLLOWING post_*_ is a thought and nothing more. _*_Do not_*_ overreact. I took great cares to balance every statement I've made here and any potential criticism is less a criticism of ANY artist and more a criticism of trends and capitalism, etc._ (This isn't even really about status and/or Janet but how I feel the music industry has not been equal to pop and dance artists, acts.)
Janet's talent is unmistakable and cannot be compared to any other artist.
    But? Queen...?
First of all: aristocracy is cancerous, monarchies and royal classes are set up to deprive anyone "lower." Why would Janet who clearly worked for her success instead of having things handed to her want to support that? She deserves a status of achievement-recognition that no one can challenge, TRUE. But? The Throne Should Be Shared. I do not believe that can be disputed, whatsoever, under any circumstance or compulsion. Unless, I suppose, one were to try to say Tina, Aretha, Shirley, Billie, Chaka, LaVern, Gladys, Roberta, Diana, Patti (very very long list) were oriented in rock, soul, etc...
Second: personal Q, but isn't disco genuinely pop? I've always felt the standard people place on certain artists to change their sound perfectly every time to keep up with styles and trends is why Whitney was locked out of greater longstanding commercial viability after the late 90's. I'm not arguing Whitney is "greater than" Janet. I think Janet's 2000's and 2010's output is incredible. But she was always able to afford a kind of competitive edge with securing certain producers to land her either bigger hits or more artistically forward full-length records... because she already had certain hits securing her money to create a shadow over other great women where they had to be almost producer-minded to continue making music.
I know this is a complex issue, and some artists don't really want to change for competitive popularity's sake or don't fit into many platformed sounds = Cyndi Lauper, maybe Sade, La Bouche and all the artists in the house / 90's disco moment. (Can you think of a bad LaBouche song?) But, really, even given again what money can buy? I don't think people would talk about - for example - Celine Dion today if she hadn't moved from overdramatic (melodramatic?) stadium numbers into lower-scale radio ditties. Or Shania Twain or Taylor Swift crossed over out of country. I'm not kidding, I think Cher did the same thing. (I despise "Believe" and "Strong Enough.")
BUT. I still say having the money speak above all, even if we all enjoyed the music of (say) Britney or most of us enjoyed Christina nearly every time, is pretty creepy. Didn't Jody Watley and Debbie Gibson and Klymaxx and Sharon ("Let the Music Play") and Lisa Lisa and Patrice Rushen not make songs so damn good that quality should have determined they be given shots at working with great writers, etc? I mean, giving Janet a crown for the end result, the strength of the recorded song, would grant her all the greatness. But isn't that also rewarding the same thing that made the industry so brutal that it not only locked legends out of renewing success but also pushed so much mediocrity to the top so often???
I wouldn't argue Janet did one thing or the other to make things the way they were for everyone. But. Isn't Janet meant to be celebrated because she only stayed performing when she was making Great Music? She also stayed at the top for so long because she had Madonna Money to wrangle the hitmaker writers and studioheads. This crown and throne regalia treatment is definitely celebrating the callous, manipulations of the media process. THE SAME MEDIA that torched Janet the minute Bush Era America got White Feelings over Janet during the Super Bowl Justin Timberlake asininery.
The industry left Donna Summer spinning around in the same way in the mid-1980's. But she was such a legend in the 70's and 1980. Even Madonna's production team could never quite strike equal excellence as "I Feel Love," "Dim All the Lights," "On the Radio," "Bad Girls," "Hot Stuff," "Sunset People," etc. The woman never missed a beat in the 70's. But... because the 80's was so monolithic or monopolized, Janet and Madonna could "land" the best producers. Money talked, not the spirit of "the" greatest artistry. And Donna as an artist pioneered nearly everything that is Modern in pop's sound.
As I said before with the "Thrown Should Be Shared," I love Janet and Whitney and Cyndi and Chaka and Madonna for their recorded music... but I think if I were crowning anyone for ruling to actually rule and FOR ruling itself to reflect the moment that MADE it all? Something we all wouldn't have / pop wouldn't be the same / without her? I would go Donna Summer first. She truly was the pioneer in the moment we fell in love with that perfect mix of dance in pop, pop music in the clubs, club on the radio, black power along with the release of a first wave of gay liberation that the radio loved... Never forget: this is just a pondering.
