Let's not forget the dad who walks faster than the whole family, stops and takes a nice break while he waits, and then takes off with renewed vigor the very second everybody catches up to him.
What I always love about Anna and Oisin sketches is that you can find moments of sympathy for both. Anne's frustration with Oisin's refusal to engage with her attempts to teach him nature stuff, and Oisin's exasperation with Anne's particularities. So real.
Absolutely! Both get their chance to be in the right and in the end. I can think of few finer portrayals of that difficult parent-teenager relationship. They're both caricatures, sure, but with enough nuance to still feel rounded and real. And because of that they're so relatable. They're irresistible.
Yeah, 100% of teenage schoolgirls and 95% of lads would be treating that thing like it was napalm the second they were in the door from school! (In fact a sizeable minority of the girls would have a change of clothes barred up somewhere between home and school..) As for the 5% of lads who suffered the uniform to stay where it was, they were either committed slobs, straight on to the console, or straight up to the fetid pit that passed for a bedroom to, eh, "get a head start on the 'homework' before dinner"! [EDIT: Or some permutation of the three.]

A very relatable skit! In Australia, the Mother/Son bushwalking arguments pivot around wearing sunscreen and a hat, and rehydration. The aggrieved teenage son contrives to leave his water bottle in the car, and if possible, his loathed hat. On his feet, he is only wearing a pair of thongs, because his runners are now "too small". Arguments break out routinely on the hike because Mum insists on sunscreen being reapplied every 30 minutes, and because he keeps taking his hat off when he thinks another person will see him in it. He picks up a stick off the ground as instructed by mum "for walking", but decides to use it instead to bash the bushes beside the track as they walk along, saying he is "scaring away the snakes". This entirely unnecessary action causes a startled snake to jump right out on the path in front of them, scaring the living daylights out of all. There's never a dull moment with teens and parents in the great outdoors......[Edit: note for non - Autralians. Most Aussies have never seen a snake in the wild - because snakes in the bush are mostly off-track, tucked peacefully away in their hidey-holes. There is no need whatever when hiking on a track to "scare away the snakes".]
Correction - on a school bushwalk many years ago walking single file along a well worn track one of the girls stood on a small grass snake which frantically wrapped itself around her leg as she danced about shrieking and shaking her leg - we all shrieked - I actually never realised snakes could scream too

I am both dreaded and amused how much I recognize myself in Anne, and my kids i Oisin! 😱😂 And all this out of good and loving intentions to teach them something good for their lives... 🤦🏻♀️
This is low key one of my favourite Anne and Oisín sketches. Shows a brilliant dynamic between them and that they’re best friends really 😉 And that view behind them is absolutely stunning! Where is that!? 😍
Thankfully my mum is not into hiking at all but a Dublin walking tour on Monday proved to be enough to land us both in St James' A&E for almost 6 hours. Tour guide stopped near Dublin castle across from a churros shop, mum stepped into a gutter grabbed for me and I lost my balance as well and we both went flying backwards down the street. Thankfully nothing is broken, only badly bruised but my left shoulder is in a sling due to second degree AC shoulder joint separation. We're still trying to make the best of our trip and tomorrow it's back to Berlin. Thank you for yet another great Oisin and Mrs Flanagan Video to cheer me up! ❤
Now, that a few days have gone by, I can laugh about it, too, but those hours in the emergency room, waiting for x-rays and not knowing if I was going to need surgery for the shoulder were not fun at all. At least my mum won't drag me on any walks anytime soon 😅
It’s funny when she starts talking about the shoes because those are all valid points and I say that as someone who literally works in an outdoor equipment shop but I still end up feeling bad for Oisín anyways lmfao
I love it, I love it, I love it! SO many funny lines, and always a thrill to see Anne! I think the shoe and video call parts were my favorite. Great outro, too! Thank you!
Was that Oisín messing with his mother when she tried to go in the bushes to pee, or was that Foil 'corpsing'? (I'd be very surprised if there weren't outtakes from this sketch, it seems like it must have been lots of fun.). Loved the "Sun sets in the ... night time" bit as well! 😆
I love it! Especially that they have the bits with variants what mom says! It's like, no, we need to include this one too! And yes, you do need all of them!
Very fun sketch; it's nice to see some more of the "Oisínverse" 😉 and appreciate FAH's filmmaking skills. Surprised that Anne didn't insist on a hat... sunglasses... sunblock... bug repellent... and Barry didn't tag along with pockets full of Penguins! It could also have been funny if Anne said out of nowhere "Now I'll tell you all about the birds and the bees, Oisín" but after his protests, it turns out she just wants to impart some lessons about ornithology and entomology!
Another nice and funny Sketch FAH! I predict soon, you will have a fully-fledged feature-length movie about Oisin and Anne's wacky shenanigans, with the occasional Barry cameo!
I'm genuinely surprised Anne is interested in hiking. I thought of her more as kinda museum/stained glass window type of person. Also - well done, as always!
@@IntensivePorpoise In my mind there are walks and there are walks. Like my Mom's idea of a walk is going up Arthur's seat in Edinburgh, so I imagined something similar for Anne.

1:05 - You both must be hiking that EARLY in the morning?!! By midday, sun is generally at South position. Oisin would be pointing North from his left side 😀
The only missing bit from my experience is a dad knowing a “shortcut” that ends up being a far longer walk to the car than the original route. 😂
Exactly what I was thinking! The overambitious Dad trying to extend the walk at every opportunity...
And then you have to run from a bull

The single most annoying thing to do while on a hike is to friendly greet each and every other hiker. Getting back to nature is a drag if I have to be nice to strangers...
I know, like that's the reason I left civilisation???
"-Sun rises in the? -Morning" - is an absolute love 😍😂
Welcome Back Mrs Anne Flanagan. This is my first new video featuring you since I found this channel. You are the best. Got to love Oisin, Morning and Nighttime, perfect answers. Missed Barry.
Thank you Foil Arms and Hog, you make me look forward to Thursdays even though it's Rent Day. Wishing all of you the very best for your next shows.
2:00 I'm impressed that Barry goes on these trails by himself! Though it's a bit rude that he didn't turn around to greet Oisin & his mum
You missed the moment when your Mum takes a picture then forces everyone to stop for 30 mins while she sends it to everyone she's ever met
Hilarious as EVERYTHING ...was me ! From the lack of support in the shoes , walking ,pole and especially the dog shite not being picked up . 😂😂
Oh dear, I recognise a little bit too much of myself in Anne! It's truly awful (or wonderful) how my kids and I can both watch these sketches and see ourselves in the characters.
Oh wonderful to be sure!
I am both dreaded and amused how much I recognize myself in Anne, and my kids i Oisin! 😱😂
And all this out of good and loving intentions to teach them something good for their lives... 🤦🏻♀️
This is low key one of my favourite Anne and Oisín sketches. Shows a brilliant dynamic between them and that they’re best friends really 😉
And that view behind them is absolutely stunning!
You have my sympathy, but also I am quietly giggling.
Now, that a few days have gone by, I can laugh about it, too, but those hours in the emergency room, waiting for x-rays and not knowing if I was going to need surgery for the shoulder were not fun at all. At least my mum won't drag me on any walks anytime soon 😅
The dog owner only picked up the poop because you were watching her. Good work!
I have the exact reaction as Anne when people don’t say hi back. 😂
The funniest part of this video for me is the fact that I have walked the same trail they are on with my parents.
No way ! Far out!
😂😂😂😂 now his entire family needs new kidneys...that escalated way too quickly
Last time I went on a walk with my mother I some how ended up in the town centre helping her with her shopping… never again! 😂
Thank you!
I'M PRETTY SURE IT'S PERFECT! I mean even Tomato got a cameo!!!
Oisin going for a walk in his school shirt and tie. At least he's got shorts on 😂
Naw, I reckon his fears would be entirely justified!
You pick it up.
I'm not picking up a wrapper.
😂
Very accurate.
Another nice and funny Sketch FAH! I predict soon, you will have a fully-fledged feature-length movie about Oisin and Anne's wacky shenanigans, with the occasional Barry cameo!
haha, I actually wrote the bones of it over lockdown, but its doubtful it will happen
Nighttime-morning part of the sketch was brilliant, loved it x)
Anne Flanagan: He knows damn well 🙄
So Barry didn’t make it to follow the trip this time 😂 or maybe he’s enjoying the penguins at Anne’s house 😈
Omg the freezer will be empty by the time they get home 😱
Love these characters! Their conversations and facial expressions are always so true to life😂 Pure cold!
I'm genuinely surprised Anne is interested in hiking. I thought of her more as kinda museum/stained glass window type of person.
Also - well done, as always!
Walks take two spots in her list of things to do in Dunbooey.
I'm sure there are lots of museums on rainy days.
@@IntensivePorpoise In my mind there are walks and there are walks. Like my Mom's idea of a walk is going up Arthur's seat in Edinburgh, so I imagined something similar for Anne.
Suprised they haven’t done her in a museum yet. Can see her scolding Oishin for wanting to go into the gift shop then as they’re leaving seeing a really nice pen or something she really wants
@@mrcritical6751 they're probably more conscious these days of the need for permission to film. But if they can find a friendly museum, that would be brilliant.
Anne and Oisin at a museum would be great. They have to take Barry though.😂
Dunno why, but that kidney comment totally got me. Got a sick sense of humour I guess😁
Wow! Speedy sketch turn around lads!!!! You’re on fire!
Thanks Charlie!
"Rude bastard!" 😂😂😂
This is definitely going to encourage me to start going on hikes again. Yes. Definitely. Maybe.
Poor tomato, can't catch a break, even in a sandwich 😂
😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭
The poor guy 😂
On spot! The only things off are the weather (it usually rains during family strolls) and the mum not insisting on her son to wear at least 3 overalpped layers of clothes.
The way I legit thought you meant Tom Daley the british diving guy and wondering how I missed that random bit of information over the years XD
No I went to school with a guy called Tom Daly and I'm awaiting his text...
Me too😂
I was half expecting Anne to follow up with, 'He should have stuck to knitting'.
Me too! 😂
"And it rises in the...?
"Morning!" 🤣🤣🤣
FAH are the only ones I am subscribed on, on UA-cam. I love the set and the scenery here, good one on Hog! 😉No unnecessary scenes for the Irish tourist board according to me. I'm wondering how the passers by reacted on your filming? And thank you for getting to know through your work, some friends who come and visit you and your city too! The plans are real! 😍
I'm sure the passers-by said hello!
1:05 - You both must be hiking that EARLY in the morning?!! By midday, sun is generally at South position. Oisin would be pointing North from his left side 😀
No Anne, always do be tricking in the outro, we love it! Roll on October, really looking forward to finally seeing you at the Lowry!
Eeeeek!!! You'll have to tell me all about it!!! (if you forget I'll remind you muahahaha)
The classical music playing in the background even when outside at a park! 😂 It's Anne's theme music.
Now try hiking with German parents. That's the next level 😂
Mrs. Anne saying “Rude B*****d” out loud should be played on a loop because it cracks me up every time I replay it 😂
