That board is not a divider, it's actually a compressor. If you tighten it over your clothes (or soft items), it gives you more space above.

no longer carry a back back or large suitcase and wish to travel to Europe and UK. Thinking a carry on is the way to go but the restrictions on weight and size is a concern.

I like the inclusion of a laundry bag, cause when you're traveling full time that bag is so handy! The pro version is crazy yo so many features. Y'all ready for where ever you wanna go these bags are 🔥
It is super handy and it's made from really good quality material. Defs recommend these for anyone wanting new suitcases.

Monos is a no go for me. Too many customer service complaints. I’m torn between Away and July but July is inching ahead.

Did you have any difficulties with the size of the carry on? It looks like it makes the carry on bulky on the the side, therefore not being able to fit into the sizing bin.

I wouldn't recommend July, suitcases are heavier than listed on their website. Then when I asked for a return they wanted me to pay for my shipping when it was their false advertising that caused this problem. I specifically bought the suitcase based on the weight on their website which wasn't accurate.
When a suitcase is a big chunk of your bag weight allowance, it's not good.
Unfortunately July under quote their bag weights, I bought their checked luggage and it's 850g heavier than claimed. They tried to say that 2 of the included features are optional but one is non removable without a lot of work and also even after removed still 500g over quoted weight. Their only resolution to my bringing it to their attention was return product or discount offered. I asked them to correct their weight claim on website but that hasn't happened.

@HiFocusedCinematography No definitely not. Not very professional from them at all. I sent photos of case on scales with and without supposed optional accessories and they didn't seem to care. I checked on two separate scales that had both been calibrated with fractional weights and both times scales accurate but case a lot heavier than claimed.
Thanks for the comment - I was going to order one of the checked plus suitcases from here but after reading your comment about the weight, I think i’ll go with Samsonite.
Ah I bought the July luggage in sand/beige. There are marks all over to suitcase after one use - most of it can be cleaned off but it’s a hassle. The bumper corners unfortunately had a lot of scratches too. The color sand is also off, on the website it is beige but in real life it’s a peachy nude.
It is large and I do like it’s laundry bag. But that’s about it.
Don’t recommend July large luggage in sand (2/5)
you bought a hard luggage in a bright color and are now surprised it has marks after use lolol. I dont know what to tell ya.

Ooh ooh ooh you're off to Germany!!! My parents were supposed to be flying out to Munich today but have had to cancel 😪 My brother has been sending photos of his place just out of Munich and they have had heaps of snow at the moment. Some years they don't get any till after Christmas so it is as cold as. Wouldn't mind heading over myself but we have plans. Huge plans... Batemans Bay in the New Year.😂 We were hoping for the Japan bubble so hopefully later in the year. Might kill two birds... Europe with a Japan stopover perhaps? 😀

Oh no sorry to hear your parents had to cancel. Did they reschedule? We are also close to Munich too lol. There has been quite a bit of snow lately. The kids have been enjoying it a lot. Have a great New Year in Batemans Bay at least you getting away for a bit considering the last 2 years we've had lolll. I can't wait for Japan to open up!!! We are hanging for that window and head over asap lol.

Does the laptop sleeve feel durable/protective?
It's a little thicker than most laptop sleeves imo. We use it as our laptop cover even now when we aren't using the suitcase for travel lol.
Does someone have the July trunk and used it several times? How did it work? I purchased one and not impressed by the quality. The latches are plastic and feel like a toy! I think it’s not going to survive one trip.
The carry on is around 4kg. Wish it was lighter cause the bag weighs more than the stuff that I can actually carry in it. I’ll stick to a light weight osprey transporter duffle.
4kg out of 7kg carry on allowance is bullshit
July checked plus luggage is 12.5 lbs which 2.5lbs more that they advertised. After removing compression and laundry bag checked plus luggage is 11.5 lbs which is 1lb more than advertised. Really disappointed. The only reason I bought because of weight and life time warranty. And now I have to return it.

On the Cary On Pro, I wouldn't put my laptop exposed like that. Anyone can steal it...
did you see how hard it is to pull off? There are 4 super strong magnets and slotted locks. Literally have to pull super hard with the strap (which is tucked inside) to get it off. They'd have easier time taking your whole luggage
Still torn between hardshell and the soft luggage.
It's personal preference. we often go with hard shell because it feels sturdier and we often worry about things getting crushed in a soft shell.
I just received my carry on pro and the first thing I noticed was that is the same Gopenguin carry on I ordered from Amazon in 2019 for 129 dollars. July basically put their name on it and the laptop case Is the same wheels. Handle and material. Very disappointed since my GoPenguin handle broke and that’s the reason I ordered the July. And not to mention it cost 2 times more. Ugh! Is going back ! I guess I’ll continue my search for the perfect carry on. I was really hopping this was going to be it.

I fear for the laptop inside the laptop sleeve when you open the bag at 03:35. I'd rather put my laptop inside the suitcase so that it's more secure when the bag is tossed and turned by airport guys.
it's a carry on, you're meant to handle it yourself. not for checking in with the laptop in the case.
