- This video shows the process involved in installing a piranha dual battery tray into a Toyota Prado 3.0L 150 series diesel from start to finish. Once the battery and battery tray are in place we have a Redarc dual battery kit to take care of the under bonnet wiring which can be found at our online store here:

Great!thanks very much!
No worries mate, glad it helped
Nice video thanks. Clean your car man!!
Just installed mine. It's a horrible fit. Took several hours with some modifications to the screw holes and side mount arm to make it fit as the tray holes do not line up with the holes on the vehicle tray above the guard and the side mount needs to be bashed to bend it to fit properly.
Hi Andrew, That’s no good mate. Did you purchase the kit through us? I just couldn’t see your order in our system.
@@AussieDrifterTouring I can't recall I think I got it off eBay somewhere or from Piranha
It's solid now but it was alot of work to get it to fit. I was surprised at how well the relocation of the air con pipe worked and how easy it was to shift over. I did have to undo the plastic clip holding the hose to the chassis further back towards the rear of the engine bay. I used some heater hose around the aluminium pipe to prevent any rubbing near the yellow and blue tape
@@andrewraphael5000 sounds like you got it all sorted in the end, that’s good 👍
Man exactly the same problem with my 2010 GXL. Bloody holes don't line up and also side mount arm not bent enough for flush fit. I hate this thing and have to make it work now. Will have another go and drill the screw holes bigger and bend the arm mount more. I can get a good look at the clip holding the AC pipe near the wheel arch. No idea how to undo clip.
hi there do you have a video of installing the battery tray to a 1GD model ? this one is a little different
We don’t have a video mate but there is instructions included with the paragons trays if that’s what you have. Otherwise feel free to give us a call if you have a question. Cheers kurt
What model Prado was the tray installed? We have Attitude model and struggling to move the A/C pipe?
Chooka2005 Chooka hey mate sorry I cant remember the badge model. Altitude should be ok, I know it won’t fit some Kakadu models.
@@AussieDrifterTouring how do you take care of the Kakadu model tray fitting problem?
@@dariomartic6766 Hey mate, Im not sure there is a solution for that model sorry. might have to look at a battery in the back.
@@AussieDrifterTouring thanks mate, I think that's what I might have to do.
Which exact battery did you use on this Prado?
Holes do not line up at all. New A/C bracket holes do not line up so cannot secure the pipes. Disappointing, this shouldn't be this difficult.
Can you fit N70 there. Thanks
RFULLER RF yer you can mate by moving that aircon line.
AussieDrifter Touring -Battery Management by Design cheers
my prado has the steering wheel fluid where the tray should be installed. any idea where to move it to be able to sit the second battery?
Hi Mate, Do you have the petrol model?
@@AussieDrifterTouring yes I do!
@@juanpabloalvarez6160 we use the piranha 4x4 battery tray which allows that to be moved, here is a link to their guide which might help you out mate www.piranhatc.com.au/wp-content/uploads/fitting_guide/BTP150P.pdf
Hi, how do i know if my model has smart alternator, is a 2010 gxl 4.0 V6 150 series
It doesn’t mate non of the Toyota’s have a variable voltage alternator. They have a temperature compensating alternator.
