Thank you. I was getting mine ready for the holiday weekend, and mine fell out too. The pin was stuck in the down position, a little brake cleaner then some wd-40 and BAM it popped back up. Used a small flathead screw driver, and slide it right back in. Thank you!
I have a 2014 800ex & mine goes in & out easily likes it's key. I just thought it was meant to do it. It's never fell out by itself though. Just fixed mine & it's really easy. Take the gas strut off . 2 x 10mm bolts. Put the piston part of the gas strut in a vise with protective material as to not damage the piston. The adjustment part at the top of the gas strut has a 17mm nut locking it in position. Loosen the nut & turn the top piece that the lever goes into clockwise until the lever won't fall out anymore. If yours is freezing because of water ingress then unscrew that piece completely so you can put grease into it the screw it back on. Check it still disengages with the lever & then tighten the 17mm nut again.
You wouldn't believe it. As I was loading mine on the trailer to take it in for its first service mine fell out, lol. Of course it was freezing cold out. Mine is the first one the dealer is working on because it's a new dealer ship in Cape Breton.
Hi Roland. Another great video 👍. So if the tension from the inner rod is what holds the lever in place and the cold weather kinda makes it stick down a bit sometimes would some silicone or grease help? Take care. I'm hoping to go for a ride tomorrow up to the mines and back.
So is it such a tight clearance that may be taking it apart and polishing it with an emery cloth to reduce its diameter might work or possibly a thin synthetic machine oil would work? What’s your take?
Gotcha. I’m looking to see what they have as far as radios go. I may just hook up Bluetooth speakers with my iPod. Thanks for all the videos Roland, and keep singing to yourself. 😁😁
WD40 might help, it's probably getting some moisture around the shaft that is icing up and causing the binding. WD40 will displace the moisture, worth a try...

Awesome! glad you got it. Wait until cold weather comes, keep a close eye on it
It hasn't happened to me yet but that is good information to know. Thanks!
I may spay some key lock lubricant on the push shaft.
That's a good idea!

Yes best leave the tilt steering alone when it's cold.

I agree If it happens again I may look into one of these options.
Good to know. Was the name Roll or Roland? It was hard for me to hear. 😁. Have you ever looked into a radio and speakers in your machine?
Hi Cory, it's Roland. I haven't considered a radio or speakers. It's not for me. I sing to myself jk 😜

Great video!
Thank you
ty it happens to me
Any ideas on steering lock not working
No I never experienced that

It just might. Thanks
