I am in med school right now in Cuba and this has been one of BIGGEST struggles ever since I came here 4 years ago. Christianity is not popular at all in this country and even my Christian friends who came here with me began to stray away from their Christian roots. It got lonely and hard to be different in a the crowd. But I've always consumed myself with church activities and although I get a lot of heat for it when people say I'm aways in church (I used to feel bad), I know what it has done for me. Cuba is a hard country to live in economically and socially and medical school in another language is not easy. Without my faith I don't know what I would do so I don't care anymore. Typing this as I just came home from a concert at church tonight while so many of my schoolmates chose to do other things with their Friday night and I don't regret it. To all those in university and struggling to live a godly life, it's worth it to be different. God honours your sacrifice. Stay strong 💪

I shared Xuan's sermon from EJC virtual church instantly..there was so much to learn from being in Babylon. You can standup and standout without being a part of the crowd. It wasn't by happenstance that Daniel and the 3 Hebrew boys were in Babylon, God's hand was on their story before they were captured....If they can do it we can do it too.

I saw alot of things as an unsaved going to UWI but God met me head on and I got baptized after I gave my heart to Jesus Christ at a UCCF production one night...
Jesus Saves! Look at that-what a testimony!
I can relate to the point you raised that when your relationship with a God was good, your schedule was more structured because you realized you have a higher purpose. This happens to me a lot.
Whenever I pray consciously in the morning without dozing off or being distracted, my day makes sense. Everything works fine but when my morning prayers are like routine or I am not intentional about it, my day just goes off the deep end.
So so true. Honestly trying to stay in that peak state of communing with God so my days can go well lol
Consistency and Discipline. Its is good to put God first in every accomplishment of our life.

I lived on Seacole (15 yrs ago). I lived there for 4 years. Thankfully God placed solid Christians in my life to get me through my UWI experience regret-free, because I have seen university as a 'make-or-break' for a lot of Christians. It's difficult to come to terms with some of the things you are exposed to when living on hall after coming from a sheltered background. I can agree a lot of university social events turn into that sort of culture. It is hard to stand in the minority. I studied Geology, I struggled with that a lot...'the earth is millions of years old'... I share the same approach as you guys.
Its hard to go through university but if you let go of God it can be detrimental .Standing up for Jesus is critical to one's success

The Promodoro study method is no joke guys. It is indeed an effective study method. I'm currently in a community college (upper 6th form), and balancing school and my church life were at first a bit challenging for me because I felt as though I concentrated more on school and give God the bare minimum. But then....as I grew in my faith I realized that whatever I do, I should do it for the glory of God. I was also reminded that we should seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and everything else will be added unto us. My grades at the moment are more on the average side of the spectrum, however, I will continue to pursue God because I know that His plans for my life are to prosper me.

I love that you guys stood up for God during those times. Zhara, I can relate on the "hot girl phase". It happened for me when I turned 20/21, when I started to notice my womanly curves..LOL!! And yes, girl, God certainly drop mi, boof!!! DWL! Thankfully, His light shone so deeply in me, almost piercing my heart, that I ended up not having neither desire nor appetite for the things of the world. THANK YOU, LORD!

Tuition. As always I love this video. Thanks for sharing, I didn’t go away to college, I stayed home and was active in church. My children on the other hand went away to university and I will say it’s a choice to stay close to the Lord, either you choose to party, drink and walk away or build on a a Godly relationship. 🙏🏽

To quote Zahra: I was a proper hot gal 🔥 but I was also always bright like a bulb 💡 University was a great balance for me because I didn't go unexposed and I was always focused on the end goal. A major party animal 🤦♀️ although I never drank alcohol in my life- so this is a plus. I never really deviated from my plans and goals. However, I think I had a "great UWI balance" because of the way my parents raised me. Too many kids are so restricted (in the strictest and most unnecessary ways at home) that when they go to University and are away from their families, THEY STRAY SO FAR BECAUSE THEY ARE SO ENTICED WITH THINGS THEY COULDN'T DO AT HOME...and I'm not talking about bad things but simple things as an appropriate movie night with good friends etc. I've had classmates I didn't know wore hijabs unless you butt up on them in the airports, as they were going home. So, through the whole experience, I'm most grateful that I didn't go to UWI ignorant of life and it's realities. I have no regrets of my university days but I thank God for Jesus and the decision to turn my life around as I got older 🙏 This vlog was nostalgic 😄. Have a great Sabbath Xaun and Z 😘
