99.9% of these type of videos (not saying just this channel...everywhere) focus on lakes with shad. I'd love to see more videos like this that focus on northern lakes that don't have shad...where the primary forage is bluegill/perch/crappie/craws.
I made one of those videos a month ago for that very reason! But it doesn't specify bait fish, just baits. Of course, you can interchange any bait fish and apply the same concepts.
@@evanbuhr534 lol that was by design! Now you have to click around to find it, giving me more views! But since you asked so nicely... ua-cam.com/video/siFF_9JJBqI/v-deo.html
That’s great if any of the lakes around you actually have shad in them. But up here where I live in New England there is little to none. I usually throw perch colors.
This is true I'm also from new England up north in little RI.were fishing has been tough this year.so I watch these vids figuring maybe something will help.
I'm in Connecticut. Blue gill color is my go to. Fall here is much different than down south. Our waters cool fast. Fall top water and jerk bait fishing dies off quick for me. Usually around November 1st. I'm really slowing down my techniques
Great information, I fish the CA delta and often I get stuck in the mode of trying to fish bluegill and crawfish patterns because they were working.....when the fall season arrives im still throwing those baits. I need to with to a bait fish pattern. You are clearly on point thanks for the content.
Yep these are the exact lures that have been working for me after the first cold front we’ve gotten here in east Texas. Pretty much identical colors too.
A good Texas rig works fall, summer, winter and spring I thought. Now this video opened up my eyes. Downside to soft plastic lures is you really have to lay in the hook set. Why do that when you can use these methods mentioned and the bass practically snags itself? Makes sense to me. Thanks
Thank you soo much for showing how you work it in the water. This is sooo helpful for newbies like me. I know it's a short video but it would be great to see how your set up is for this (meanig line set up). thank you
Excellent video . I fish Oregon and I enjoyed your tips on the lures i have fished some of those lures and look forward to putting some new lures on when the other ones don't get any strikes!
Thanks bud I will have to try that because I've been trying everything yet can't get a bite and if I did get a bite it was on top water frogs. I'm going fishing in morning. I let you know how it goes for me
Im at Rend Lake currently. Didn't get the kayak out due to the winds But I fished the dock/boat launch area. Seen tons of fish snatching food off the top yhen diving down and some would skim the top. Man, I tried everything from chad lures, minnows, worms, powerbait, crawfish, top water crickets, fly fishing gear, spinners with chad or minnows attached. NADA. Even had anchovies. Bunch feeding all around me but I caught nothing. Boaters pulled up to load up and they didn't get anything either thought they said they were trying to figure out their new depth/fish finder more yhan anything.
And that's the beauty of fish! Keeps us going to figure them out, but have the ability to humble us. Love the dedication -- you'll be rewarded with that kind of focus and experimentation.
I’m in the same situation the Northern Lakes shad are nonexistent where I fish. So what is the tactic to target the natural forage that we deal with in the North East bluegills, perch, frogs and crappie.
So obviously I agree, you will definitely catch fish with all these lures throughout fall. But the one lure that needs to be on this list is a fluke. All my best days in the fall have been on a fluke.

Same, my lake only has bluegill and sunfish

I was out at my local pond and for over an hour, nothing. I finally switched to a 1/4 oz Red Eye Shad and had 3 in 4 casts!!
Thanks very much for the information. It helps for us fishing up north.
That Shad footage was awesome
Also an umbrella (or alabama) rig is a great fall option
Without question. Thanks!

I like videos that get straight to the point. Like this one.

Good to hear!

Tonight 3 blue gill and 2 bass with one around 5lbs
Great video! What about pearl or smoking shad flukes? Would flukes work in lakes with shad? Thanks
I have each one tied on for this weekends tournament.

Great vid brotha 🎣🤙🏼
Good stuff Jeff! 💯
Hope to be great like you one day
Great video 👍
Thanks for the information.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm going to try these lures
What if where you fish at what if there is only blue gill and sunfish would you still throw a white shad color or more of a bluegill color
Are these good stained water baits also?
Yeeeee!!!
Great vid
Thanks Squatch!
How do you feel about a spy bait this time of year.
not trying to steal views but just made my first video its very helpful on learning about lures
So obviously I agree, you will definitely catch fish with all these lures throughout fall. But the one lure that needs to be on this list is a fluke. All my best days in the fall have been on a fluke.
Good tips
Do these white baits work in murky waters also?
I learned a lot.
The best compliment we can get. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Wow, this didn't read like a Strike King ad at ALL..... 🙄
do you use bobbers with these lures
Ty!!
what if your lake has no shad?
They we recommend adjusting color patterns to best match the most prevalent forage types be it bluegill, perch, shiners, crappies, etc.
How small are this guys thrums, he said, “real small ones size of your thumbnail to the size of your thumb.. an inch long”
No shad in my lake
yerp
take a shot every time he says “ball o’ bait”
I enjoyed the video. I subscribed so I won't miss future video's. If you get a chance, check me out.
