What can be most frustrating is the inconsistency in fall patterns. That definitely makes covering water essential. I’ve had good luck punching grass mats in the fall, but if bait isn’t scattering when your lure hits, you might as well move onto the next pattern. 😅
I want to let you know, I've have now used your Finn Fishing sun gloves for a whole season and they have been great! They fit good, have held up and are very comfortable. I can tie knots with them on and put them on when I get on the water and never take them off until I pull the boat out. I wanted them for sun protection but had never wore sun protection gloves and was worried I wouldn't like them and may not be able to hold onto my poles very well. Totally opposite, I can't fish without them now. Great product, and I recommend them. I'll be ordering another pair before next season.
Double Willow w/painted blades works best for me. I always use a white boot tail swimbait as the trailer. I like the 1/2 oz Terminator Pro Series. They really move water. When not out of balance, it's hard to fish them too fast because the blades spin so fast.
@@secretbassrigs only one o found some what close was the zman sling blade but the split ring on the big willow always pulls apart and I end up with one blade after a bunch of fish
I caught my pb largemouth on a mepps spinner in late october, after a day of catching nothing. My dad caught his pb with a trick worm also in mid October.
I remove the treble and add a maribou jig to my inline spinners. Sometimes a swimbait jig head with a small to medium boot tail swimbait. The weight of the jig heads keep them from spinning, or if I add a swivel. Usually works when an UnderSpin does not.
When you said jig n pig I actually thought you were going pork. Especially because it was following a speed trap style square bill. Solid line up. I will follow that green grass as long as I can.
This fall has been great for bass fishing, 25 year old silver Rapala SSR-7 Shallow Shad Rap has been catching them all. And the same lure in a perch colour for pike.
I actually have really good success with spinner baits in the fall as well. But those 4 baits you mentioned are also in my tackle box when I go out. I mostly fish from the bank. Love your videos and I've learned a lot from watching them.
Since the shad are now schooled up in my river in Ohio I have been using gizzard shad or sexy shad Strike king 1.5 squarebills. They are working good at the moment. Also a wacky rig in green pumpkin or black with blue flake I always have tied on a rod. Today I saw a bass chasing a shad to the surface so I tossed a bps bleeding shad popper and it hammered it. I got it in and it was a pb 3lb 12oz Largemouth! Not bad for a $2.99 lure lol. Just got some super flukes in white pearl and a Strike king gizzard shad wake bait to try out tomorrow! I will throw a sexy dawg or choppo also some times too.
I definitely feel that about mismatching the hatch. it's like you said, there are a TON of fish out there the exact same color, you are literally making your lure 1/1,000+, stand out.
I have a crankbait looks very very close to that that I paint myself and yes it does kill her this time of year in the fall or heading in to the fall thanks for the video really enjoyed it
I’ve been using 1/4 oz buzz bait and I’ve been reeeling them in ! Bass and pike, I was using drop shot all of august but now in September it’s the buzz bait working for me.
Great stuff Tyler once again, do you think you can squeeze in a video about moving water a.k.a. rivers for the month of September and October? Your advice and videos are priceless.
You had to pick one body of water to fish end of Oct between Dale Hallow, Coosa River or Guntersville, which would it be. Leaving Hartwell to branch out for fall. Thanks man! Love your videos!!!
just caught the biggest fish in my neighborhood’s (admittedly tiny) pond using a black and chartreuse square bill! burn that sucker and they’ll come out of the woodwork to smash it
Dude same, yesterday we weren't catching anything so I threw on a Texas rigged craw, and caught my pb, it came out of a sunken tree and smashed it, 3 pounds 11 oz. Not the best but for wisconsin pretty good
@@BLitZ_2944yessir, I caught 7 fish yesterday on a Texas rigged green craw, only 2 were decent size but the lake in my area is not known for bass at all, let alone big ones. I was crushing it

Hybrid Hunter Jr is freakin awesome in the fall and you can throw them anyplace you throw a squarebill because they come through stuff just as good as a squarebill
In the month of July, I absolutely crushed him with a deep diving crankbait of that similar color baby blue black gold middle. And a white bottom over three hundred fish in a month on that one crankbait, and then it slowed down this month in august every fish wanted it in july in ca
1. Be careful at night. Stuff can go bad in a hurry. 2. Use a bait like a Spinnerbait with a lot of vibration to locate some fish. Then slow down with a black and blue jig when you find them
@@BassFishingHQ I usually throw a war eagle nightblade, I definitely throw and drag a jig or Caroline rig, but during this time of the year it's tough tough tough.. we had our classic this past Friday night and it only took 10.35 to win.. we had 10.15 and that was with BIG FISH a 4.08 spot and a 3.21 largemouth, but the other 3 were babys. Our tournament was from 7p.m to 1a.m and we didn't have a fish in the boat till almost 11p.m!!! I was just wondering the best thing to throw at night time during these tough transition periods. I don't ride around and graph a lot at night time like I do during the day. I mainly fish docks and dock lights and I'll go to the dam and drag a Shakey head.. but yeah I'm crazy careful at night bro.. u gotta be, even during the day. Hey man I’m looking for some guidance I’m fishing a river that has about 8-12 foot of visibility and I’m fishing for smallmouth and I’m really struggling my river gets choked out in the summer with grass and I just can’t seem to catch anything right now the water temp is right around 72 degrees and it’s like the smallmouth packed there bags and left Pittsburgh and advice would be greatly appreciated thanks
The biggest thing with most river fishing is all about current breaks and current seams. Jetty’s and hard cover the sticks out can offer current breaks and placed where two different currents meet are the seams. Usually if you find one bare you will find a lot of bass. Smallmouth typically won’t get far inside grass but if you can find a grass line where the main current sweeps by…some fish should position on the outside of the grass
Dude, turnover is only a problem when you get a rapid change in temps that is atypical. Most of the time the temperature change is gradual and does not affect fish surbrival during turnover. What it does do is the temperature affects where the bait and predator fish set up. There is always enough oxygen mixing at the surface to mitigate turnover issues 99% of the time
I've always been told to match the hatch. However, natural selection dictated all of the bait fish to have about the same colors, so that means any deviation from those colors meant you were maybe more likely to be picked off by predators so having the silvery coloration was most ideal for survival. So, mismatching the hatch has a logic, when I think about it as you're representing a baitfish with less than ideal colors for survival
I watched a kid catch a fish with a buzzbait in 30ish ft of water from the back of his Dad's boat. I asked why he was throwing it there. He said "all of the guys on UA-cam say to try something different"....

I agree with your concept of throwing a different colored square bill. I’ll match the hatch concerning size but, I’ll definitely change colors.

is there a kind of snap swivel to connect and exchange all lures quickly, while I only bring one rod for bass fishing?

At the seems, sometimes people fish too close to the points. Back off about twice the distance you normally start. Then work your way up.
